Great video. Personally, I prefer to use seltzer water in place of ginger ale. Lets you appreciate the flavor of the whiskey more while still getting all the fizz. Add a squeeze of lemon, and you've got an amazing drink.

I made earl grey tea with loose leaf and steeped for 4 min but with i put into the fridge it turned cloudy. Any reason why

soooo it was way different than i expected :D I used Schweppes Ginger Ale, which has a strong flavor and mixed it with my 8 year old Bushmills Irish Honey. It came out very refreshing with a light sweet note and an unexpected strong aftertaste, with rounds up the whole drink. Very nice

@@DrinksTube Not an acceptable excuse..The man talked about history and you edited it out...You do realize that is how the heritage of ages is lost right?? Take a good look at the world, as mundane as this point may seem on a whiskey video, it relates to the way people handle heritage and history these days...In my opinion, How do you evolve, or even know if you're evolving without history...Very ignorant and disrespectful of both the man sharing the knowledge and of the history itself...

In my opinion do not use good whiskey. Use a lesser whiskey if available it will still taste as good in a cocktail. In saying that I have had $200 cocktails.

Such as mojito always with rum. How if we change it with gin? Could you give me the main reason of it? Please help me.

There is no difference between clear ice and regular ice cubes except the look. Still just frozen water.

A more aromatic tea (like earl grey, assam or oolong) will give the drink a more complex flavour - but if you can only get breakfast tea that will be fine!

wouldn't it be smarter to mix the modern highball in a mixing glass, then stirr it and then put it on the highball glass?

Why ask for information then skip through it? I realise many, many other people have said this, just hoping that repetition reinforces the point for future reference. Believe it or not, many people are capable of getting a couple of minutes of history explained to them without passing out with the effort of concentration.

hahaha too much history in the beginning? although nicely solved in editing, Rich kinda looks annoyed and Jamie is probably a bit offended by the end product of the video :D (although it might have been on purpose)...anyways, looks like a nice drink :)

It was very disrespectful to bring a knowledgeable guest onto your show and then completely fast forward through his explanation of the highball's history. Cocktails, and every other culinary craft have fascinating histories that should be treated with respect and interest. If you want to see how a proper cocktail video is done, watch some content from How To Drink. Greg doesn't fast forward through the backgrounds and rich histories of classic cocktails.
