It's always great to watch you review criterions! Your previous criterion video is what introduced me to your channel and I've looked more into the asmr community since. Also your boyfriend has great taste in films
Yessss I couldn’t be more excited for this!! Thank you so much for taking my request into account! Your whisper voice is so wonderful and DVD show n tells are my favorite!!
Brilliant choices of films, Meg! Paris, Texas is a top 5 favourite of mine. Very glad to see Kurosawa represented here too. Keep up the great work with the videos!
Thank you! I will forward this to my boyfriend Jesse, curator of these films hehe. Fun fact: every month for the past 4 or 5, Jesse has been hosting a free film night locally. And it's just so cool to be able to watch films like this in a big group with other people. Since not everyone has easy access to ones like these, it makes it very fun and special to be able to share them in a way for many to enjoy. Love it, thanks for your comment & I think another film tour video will be soon to come! ;)
I watched Dunkirk in theaters which of course is the best way to watch it. I feel like it loses some of its value if watched on tv. Well crafted movie over all and a great experience! I regret not watching Blade Runner 2049 in theaters. At the time I hadn't seen the first Blade Runner. Now I've seen both films and have read the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (Highly recommend it!). Anyways after watching it I'd say Blade Runner 2049 is definitely one of 2017's best. By far one of the best sequels to a movie as well. Some people didn't appreciate due to the slow pace. However after watching multiple times it's really intelligent, thought provoking, and packed with beautiful effects much like the first. What else can I say? I loved it!
Yes! I saw the Vox video about the Shepard Tone - really incredible stuff. I couldn't remember what it was called when I filmed this, so thanks for adding that into the conversation!! ^_^ I love it!
Yes! It was amazing in theaters. We initially saw it at the big huge IMAX screen in Providence, RI. The screen there is HUGE and takes up like 95% of your field of vision and the sound is INSAAAAAAAAAAAANE. I also saw Interstellar there for the first time, too. Also love the music in that film as well. I'm sorry you weren't able to catch Blade Runner in theaters! The music was AMAZING via the theatre sound system. I do want to read the book, too. I may not get to anytime soon but it's on my list. I loved the slow pace too and thought it was perfect for building the story. So many sci fi movies these days are too fast, with way too much CGI. Blade Runner was calculated and well-paced and allowed you time to absorb everything going on. Thanks for your response. Also, thanks for your compliment about Jesse's taste in film! I will be sure to let him know ^_^
I take it you've probably spent a little over a thosand on your collection? Not that its a bad thing, I've done the same. Just that Criterion and steelbooks can be pricey. Speaking of BR2049, I spent $150 altogether on three different steelbooks just because I enjoyed the film so much.
It's all my boyfriend Jesse's collection :) He has probably spent a lot on it, yes, BUT he really only buys around Criterion / Barnes and Noble sale times, or buys the steelbooks when they're new and not yet as rare, he gets a lot of them as birthday / special occasion / holiday gifts, etc. And it's been in the works for years now. So, it's a slow build over time. Collectively, probably a lot of money, but as it goes, it's only here and there. He also collects records. You can find him at instagram.com/jesse_sinclairb/
Hey! Just stalked your page for a moment and I see that scene from Jane the Virgin (Jane / Michael best kiss ever scene) is on your Favorites playlist. SAME, GIRL. SAME. I've watched that clip probably 300 times LOL!!!! love ittttttttttt. ANYWAY back to the topic at hand! Thank you so much for the shout out - I truly appreciate that so much!
MegInWhispers omg I’m so embarrassed now lol. Yes I definitely think that scene is up there with the best kisses of all time lol. It’s so beautiful! And no problem at all! You are definitely one of my favorites!!
Tbh, I do too. They both make me tear up every time. But 2049 was just incredible on so many levels. Maybe I need to restart the criterion collection / film review vids 🙌
