WHITBY to ROBIN HOODS BAY COASTAL WALK

A superb 6.5 mile costal walk from the seaside resort of Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay, on the North East Coast of England. Whitby is famous for Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, where the Count is shipwrecked and comes ashore at Whitby in a shape of a black dog, running up the 199 steps to St Marys Church, which is dominated by the Gothic Whitby Abbey. This is where the walk starts and I parked my car, on a glorious summers morning. I got the bus back to Whitby from Robin Hoods Bay, enjoying the famous fish n chips before a final look around the churchyard and gravestones at St Marys Church.

Good morning Count Metal man! Loved the change of scenery in this one, what a beautiful morning for it too! 🧛‍♂️❤👍 The beaches and cliffs just in the first mile were beautiful, and cracking when it's so calm 🌊 cracking looking path and yes it looked very family friendly 🍰☕ Love all the old smugglers takes too, must be some truth in some of them hey, all thiese old worldly shenanigans! 🏴‍☠️ Would love to walk the coast to coat one day, what a stunning part of our wondeful coastline. Always good to see a couple of benches along the way too, great way to treasure the memory of a loved one. Really lovely video Alan and the fish and chips too 🍟🦐 have a great week, Ceri and Kat 🧛‍♂️☕❤👍🏴‍☠️

It was a perfect morning to do this walk and a first for me too, even though we have been going to Whitby for years. As soon as the kids are back at school the missus wants to do the walk too, which I am happy with, any excuse to have another fish n chips and a pint! Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan

Sorry that Mrs. Metalman couldn't make it. Whitby is stunning, looking over the cliffs, and some interesting history! The beach walk is stunning. Can't beat a hike that includes a pint and fish and chips! The Dracula overtones are so fun. Amazing about the tombstones of unknown bodies from shipwrecks, but it makes sense. Great hike, Alan, and thanks for sharing!

Oh wow, not only did we get an awesome walk with you today, but we also got some historical insights and some Dracula origin story? Really love those seaside cliff walks you guys have over there. That rainstorm story was classic, until the clip of Mrs. Metalman looking back at you. Then it was legendary! If looks could kill, your channel would have been over right then wouldn't it? Nice change of pace from the lake walks. Really enjoyed this one Alan, thanks!

Lovely walk that Alan but I can’t see you as a fast runner. 🤣😂😅 Those sheep looked huge as did the cream tea. Great photos of storm clouds and Mrs METALMAN enjoying the conditions. Thanks very much for watching Debs and Whitby is a great seaside resort and only an hour away for us, so we go every year at least a couple of times, even just for the fish n chips. To be honest, Mrs Metalman just had a bad dream, so felt really tired when she woke up or she would have been on the walk with me but looking forward to doing it in the future. If you ever make it to Whitby there is a great B&B called Bats and Broomsticks, which is a Gothic and Victorian guest house with individually themed rooms, all of a horror nature, they also have a statue of Dracula outside, the missus was terrified when we stopped there but I loved it and it had a mega breakfast too. Ohhh, love the history on this one. Wow I can only imagine the dates on the tombstones in that cemetery. Beautiful coastal path and views for this hike. Your footage looks like a scene out of a movie, it's so pretty from the cliffs. Its also nice that you have buses around that can take you to and from the trail. No such thing in my area. Fish and chips looked amazing and I am sure tasted great after some salty fresh air. Another great one Alan.

Thanks for stopping by Jacqueline and such an awesome comment, I so appreciate that my friend. We go to Whitby a couple of times every year as it is only about 50 miles from us and always have fish n chips there, first time I have done this walk but will not be the last, I loved it, cheers Alan

@@AlanMETALMAN We always tend to go to Sandsend or Runswick bay rather than Whitby because it's not so busy and easier to park . Or we go to Filey and park up on the brigg and walk on the cliff top path there. So after watching this it has made me want to go and try this ; )
