A superb 6.5 mile costal walk from the seaside resort of Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay, on the North East Coast of England. Whitby is famous for Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, where the Count is shipwrecked and comes ashore at Whitby in a shape of a black dog, running up the 199 steps to St Marys Church, which is dominated by the Gothic Whitby Abbey. This is where the walk starts and I parked my car, on a glorious summers morning. I got the bus back to Whitby from Robin Hoods Bay, enjoying the famous fish n chips before a final look around the churchyard and gravestones at St Marys Church.
