My school has an asian marching band, it's super funny when we show up and people who have never seen us goes "I've never seen this many Asians in one place".
idk why people think core style is super strict it’s not they just try to play everything as accurate and clean as possible, the energy is real and the soul is there. you can tell because as someone who had Marched core style the amount of hype we get in the show is unreal. And if you look at dci groups which aren’t marching bands but they put a crap ton of soul into it,
I’ve graduated playing in a white band for 4 yrs and it was great I grew up watching drumline the movie and kinda migrated towards dci but drumline will forever be iconic
My band is mostly white but it's a show band like the "black band" is. Sadly we don't have a drum major, and we have majorettes instead of color guard and a dance team.
HBCU's do have all their many extras doing extra. I think PWI are shocked by SU's cymbals. I always them trying to figure out how they do what they do.
