It's good that this was emphasized in comparison to throwing basketball, funny and important i think

I follow a bunch of bjj channels and yours is one of the best. I love how you explain everything. Super simple and technical at the same time. Love it! As always, thank you for all this content!

I like the honesty here. If technique videos were all it took, we wouldn't need to roll. You said much more, but this is what I heard, thank you. And I understand manbuns, I really do, I'm a barber. But 2006 Brooklyn shouldn't be alive and well Down Under. :) Much love Guy 😁

Great advice! And like you said It's the reps that count , not whether it was successful or not.. because really there's no failing jiu jitsu just lessons learned! 😎

Sir, i was rolling last night and tried to do a cross collar choke from the mount but i couldnt finish. The guy wasn't tapping out. This is what i did 1. Mount 2. Hooks in. 3. Created an angle by windshield wiping my right hand to the right 4. Grabbed opponents collar with my left hand(behind the neck area), then i windshield wiper my right hand to the left side. 5. I raked, and grabbed the other collar with my right and i pulled my elbows to my ribs and squeezed. What am i doing wrong here ?

Reps my friend. Watch every video out there on cross chokes. Add 1000 reps. Voila. fixed. (-: Tom Davey

Thanks but would you clarify about 'trying to fail'?
@TheGrapplingAcademy
@TheGrapplingAcademy 5 лет назад
Try to fail 20 times a night on your favourite technique. This means you'll throw caution to the wind and rep rep rep and learn learn learn. Puts a positive spin on failing early attempts of skill development. (-: Tom Davey

Before swinging both legs over, where does your right hand grab? on the opponent's left pant leg? Impossible to see from the camera angle.

Why dont you go for the belly down? When i do it from closed guard i always try to go for the belly down, i feel like its superior in every way

1:48 i have trouble doing this motion creating this angle without putting my left leg in his hip pushing away. how to do it so smoothly?
@TheGrapplingAcademy
@TheGrapplingAcademy 2 года назад
You just build momentum by pendulum if your left leg and curving your back.
