First episode of Pai's Kitchen! This pumpkin pie is nothing like you've every seen, light and fluffy, yet creamy with melty bits of white chocolate all throughout, scented with citrus and topped with crunchy candied pecans. YUM! When I moved to Canada, I had the traditional pumpkin pie for the first time but didn't really like it, so I made it a mission to create a recipe that I would love, and now I get to share it with you!

About Pai:
Pailin “Pai” Chongchitnant is the author of the Hot Thai Kitchen cookbook, co-host of a Canadian TV series One World Kitchen on Gusto TV, and creator and host of the RU-vid channel Pailin's Kitchen.
Pai was born and raised in southern Thailand where she spent much of her "playtime" in the kitchen. She traveled to Canada to study Nutritional Sciences at the University of British Columbia, and was later trained as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in San Francisco.
After working in both Western and Thai professional kitchens, she decided that her passion really lies in educating and empowering others to cook at home via RU-vid videos, her cookbook, and cooking classes. She currently lives in Vancouver, and goes to Thailand every year to visit her family. Visit her at hot-thai-kitche...

HELLO LOVELY VIEWERS! Important Note: If you have questions about this recipe, you can post it here for the community to answer. But if you want to ask me, please get in touch via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or my website (all links are in the description above). If you leave questions in the comments I may not see them due to the large volume of comments I receive across the hundreds of videos on this channel. Also, before sending on any questions be sure to read the written recipe on the website as I often add extra tips and notes not covered in the video. Thank you for watching!

I always loved when you pronounce and write out all the thai names. You're equally awesome with French terminology. So many different ideas incorporated into this and I love it. MOARRRR

You nailed that French R sound! Bravo! By the way, since you're in Canada, the Canadian French way of saying "pâte" is actually quite different. It's like paw-oo-t, where the oo is like the oo in foot, but barely audible. Haha. I don't even know if you're interested in this.

alot of people not like the traditional pumpkin pie that is heavy. we always get or make a "whipped" up recipe like urs to make it lighter and creamier. would have never thought of maple whip cream tho..that is different and tasty! :)

I agree with you. That's one reason "I don't really love pumpkin pie" too. Maybe because I'm Asian too. Anyways, I tried baking one. My first time baking a pumpkin pie. It didn't turn out as good, but not so bad.

Suggestion: I've always wondered how the French cook snails. We have lots of snails of all varieties one can imagine but I believe the French must cook it differently than us. Maybe some day, you can do a recipe for a French snail dish? Thanks :)

Hi! Great video! Is there a warm holiday dessert that you can make without an oven but still have that "baked good" feeling? I'd love to make this pie but I don't have an oven...I also think I've exhausted trifles, puddings, and other no bake holiday treats.

@AdamHotThaiKitchen 8 лет назад
+TT R Lol I AM lucky!!!! All I have to do is supply the kitchen and some of my time here and there ... point the camera in the right direction (while praying that it's focused)... and Pai does EVERYTHING else ... concept, recipe testing, editing the creating the final product ... she's a truly brilliant artist in every meaning of the word, and I'm lucky to be along for the ride. (... and yes the quality of my diet has gone WAY up :) ... be jealous ... be very very jealous :) )
