people have commented that the solo here is great. It is but I just wish EC had a back-up guitarist so that he could have rode the wah and did the cool oscillating solo over the 3rd verse' "Consolation for the old wound now forgotten...goodbye windows , tired starlings." Man, that was the best part of this song! Gave me chills when I first heard it back in the 60s. Still does and I listen for it whenever I hear it now!
Surprised how many people don't understand Clapton's need to improvise and not do it like the record. It's blues based music. To quote John Mayer, trying to play a blues (or improvised music style) solo exactly the same way is like playing last night's winning lotto numbers. He's making a conscious decision with the vocals to sing it differently. It's actually a difficult thing to do. Some of you are ridiculous.
The vocal phrasing is off compared to the record. Clapton is also yelling too much. Clapton couldn't even sing the high part, the other guy on stage sang it. Jack Bruce sang the entire song way better. That being said, Clapton's guitar playing is excellent
Esas congas que pretenden sustituir el inconfundible sonido de Ginger Baker quedaron bien malas. Hubiera sido preferible poner un baterista distinto, claro, pero solventes esas congas desafinadas.
ho hum .. just when Clapton finally starts playing a little bit of lead at the end, the song ends and he never really gets into it much, after the repetitious and tedious refrain over and over 3 times having to keep from snoozing through -- would go to see EC for guitar playing, not singing, and all he really does here, and most songs the past few decades, all he does mostly is just sing and hardly play much guitar at all anymore, and when he does its just a little bit then the song ends - song after song
The mammoth request curiosly chew because fisherman univariately scribble without a good condition. frightened frightening full fumbling functional, fresh volcano
No. Everyone else is overrated. If the solo in the attached video at 1:06::10 doesn't give you goose bumps then you aren't alive. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o_YM8TggJXw.html
@@soundchaser2061 And every concert he has ever performed down or artist as well. He can pick anyone's sound. People hate those who they can't replicate or reproduce. He is his own sound that nobody can recreate. This is why there are hatters. Notice how people envoy David Gilmore about the most overrated guitarist of all time. Hendrix about the most distorted crap I have ever heard. Everyone would love Clapton if he lit guitars on fire or slammed it into an amp. Fluff crap.
@@gabrielw7773You are no different than the other haters you're talking about, G. I'm a big Clapton freak, but you won't find me talking crap about other greats anywhere just because I prefer EC's music over the others'. It's important to understand that music is supposed to be enjoyed & lived instead of doing all kinds of shit with it that we all do with other stuff. I hope that sinks in.
