keep in mind that an old coin that has been in the ground for years will create a halo effect around it with mineralization making it easier for the detector to see. freshly buried coins are not a reliable test of depth. moisture of the soil also plays a big role in detecting. I have a DFX and a V3i and both will give false readings if I get within 150 feet of my neighbors electric fence. Any device that uses an electromagnetic field will be susceptible to interference so if your Coinmaster is giving you false readings and ghosting, try a different location before giving up on your detector. Happy Hunting to all.
Way back in the 90s I had a Classic III and a 6000 DI pro. The classic III was excellent at parks and going down sidewalk and even fresh water beaches. The 6000 was for relic hunting.
Thanx for this. I have this same model which replaced my Coinmaster DB and I have had nothing but frustration with it! Mostly with inconsistent and false readings? I wish I could get my old DB fixed as it was rock solid for me for years. I really expected better from White's honestly.
I have enjoyed watching your videos. I bought a Whites Coinmaster 3 when it was new back in the 90's had a lot of fun with it as a kid. Just pulled it out and wiped the dust off it. It worked great then and still dose today, just have to practice some more with it. After watching your video's I don't know why I would need to get or upgrade as I am just a beginner. Though I did just order a TRX pin pointer. Thought I would get some exercise so went to the park and started pulling dimes.
Hello! How would I know if I'm picking up on something that's gold/silver? What discrimination setting? (Highest) I used this detector & found a white gold wedding band size 6 (small) & an unidentified non magnetic object that I can't seem to identify. Also, would you be willing to give me your impression of this item. I found it in Vermont in Sandy soil along the bank of a lake. I'd love to get your thoughts on this piece. Great video & thank you!
I would have thought this one to be the best cheap one, they make accessory coils for it and it takes 2 9 volt batteries? was thinking it may be a gold nugget machine,........well it as more power,...... the others have just 2 AA batteries? I'd think that it would with a small foot ball coil.
It is picking up everything this guy is throwing at it. If you look when he has discrimination on high, it still shows a hit, just doesn't audio it because he discriminated it. I use this on fields and beaches on the UK, it does awesome if you have only iron discriminated.
Wish I would of been doing this comparison before when I went through this myself. So far I've owned quite a few. I ended up settling on a White's V3i but ran out of time and sold it. Now I'm back into it. To be honest it is hard to say depends on what you will be doing. Minelabs punch deep for silver and everyday digging. A good medium Minelab such as any of the old explorers will kill coins all day and can be found cheap on ebay(300-500 bucks). Newer such as X-Terra 705 is great for gold and silver. I settled on the V3i white's due to it has the best of everything other than minelabs go deeper but you are gonna pay. If you are getting into it get a Ace 350 off ebay or comparable whites Coinmaster pro around 250 bucks. Try it out and see, if you like it go for broke, sell it and buy a top of the line Minelab etrac (900-1000), CTX 3030 (2000) or White's V3i(1500). You end up getting what you pay for. You find things with the ace 350 or Coinmaster but you'll miss stuff too.
The average price for the "Coinmaster" is $180 but they also have other models that are higher priced like the "Coinmaster Pro" and that I believe is around $300 give or take.
why doesnt he try and turn up the sensitivity these are gr8 when u tune them he doesnt know how to set and fine tune them i own onw and hes a bit blaze with it these are one of the best i have found lots ofcoins and gold in the salt water and the bush whites are gr8!
This detector is garbage. I wrote Whites about my detector hitting stuff and then going silent and they went as silent as their crappy detector. Save your money and buy an XP
I also own this detector. The discrimination is all over the place. It doesn’t know the difference between a coin and a railroad spike at times. Giving to my son.
@@XB0XHeadShot mine is totally deaf with discrimination set at the pulltab level and I can't get deeper than 5 inches in any discriminate mode below pull tab. I run mine in all metal mode to get any depth and when I do hit a coin, it gives a brief indication on the display of a coin, then goes to iron indication on every hit. I have a 30 year old tesoro that works better than this.
