Ownership has turned away their most loyal fans and has plummeted this historic franchise to the ground. Fans are tired of investing in a team that doesn't appreciate their support. I agree that Reinsdorf is the first problem, but the location is not doing them any favors either. There's absolutely nothing to do around that stadium. Wrigley is surrounded by entertainment. There's nothing to attract people to that park unless the team is really good, and that hasn't been the case in a while.

For real. The more you watch it his videos the more you realize the man is kind of stupid. He like doesn't do research on things, he doesn't check for various opinions on subjects, and reports that, he goes off maybe a light wikipedia search up, and reports that information after a quick skim read. The most recent NHL areans are they in endangered video he put the Xcel Energy Center, which I have heard is a nice arena, in the endangered section. All his arguments pretty much were "I don't like it's exterior". He called it a "old arena" even though it was built in 2000, the same year as my Blue Jacket's Nationwide arena was built, and he called our arena young, when the xcel energy center was old. And let's not get started with him trying to pronounce names anything. I do respect how he says it with confidence at least, no matter how wrong he said the word. Thinking back further on his first MLS related video he talks about again my team the Columbus Crew's new stadium, and says the team joined the league in 2021, when that was just when the new stadium was built, the team has been around in 1996, in fact it was the first MLS team of them all. He pumps out videos a ton, and does the quickest skimmed research and reports it instantly. He's just a little stupid in all honesty.
@Superdessucke

I don't think he's stupid, but he is really far off on this being in a bad area. I really wish he would check out the demographics of Bridgeport and Armour Square. Chicago is losing (middle-class) population at a very high rate, just like Oakland. The "money" is leaving, and what remains absolutely cannot afford MLB. This is NOT rocket science. You can blame ownership, the stadium, location, etc., but these filthy, eroding, crime-ridden urban areas are no longer viable hosts for retail & entertainment businesses. Go ahead & build the ideal $$-spinning sports/retail complex amidst the urban blight... IT WON'T WORK... because the critical mass of people with disposable income have already left the region. Families & employers are leaving *certain* cities, and they will not return. Sports franchises will follow the families & employers, period. Exhibit A: Las Vegas. Exhibit B: Salt Lake City. Exhibit C: Nashville. These cities are GROWING - that's the common denominator. Chicago's One-Party "Leadership" is turning it into a minor-league city. Wake up, scro.

Yes, but I have known many people who left Chicago and moved back. You know why? Chicagoland is still an inexpensive place to buy homes. The average home price is $225K (factoring in all 99 suburbs). The average home price in Texas, Colorado, Florida, and Utah is now $400K. My friend in Boston is moving to Chicago this summer because the average home price is $700K in Boston. You cannot buy a nice home in California for less than $1M. Floridians are moving to Alabama for cheaper housing and due to Florida's skyrocketing insurance premiums where the average $350K home has a $10K homeowners premium. Most insurers left Florida after the three back to back hurricanes nearly ten years ago and others are now leaving the state and refusing to write business there. I thought about moving to Salt Lake City several years ago since I'm a skier/snowboarder and go there every winter for vacation. After seeing the cost of a 2bd/2ba condo is now $400K (used to be half price), I will stay in my downtown Chicago 2bd/2ba condo for the same price and is paid off. Californians have moved in droves to those states and driven up real estate prices. It is so bad that Utah's governor issued a public statement telling Californians not to move to Utah because they would not be welcomed. Now, Utah locals are unable to afford housing in their own state.

@@mpower1969 The Midwest region is an inexpensive place to buy homes. Wisconsin home prices average $220K, Michigan home prices average $239K, Ohio home prices average $215K, and Indiana home prices average $191K. In addition, the Midwest states have a reliable source of fresh water from Lake Michigan. Try living in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado which are running out of water and fighting over control of the Colorado River. Texas is already suffering major drought. California is desperate for water and this was another bad year for snowfall. Climate change experts in the USA say that the Midwest (including Chicagoland) is the SAFEST place to live (with Lake Michigan to provide drinking water) to avoid apocalyptic conditions of more wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, and severe droughts which are forecast for Texas, California, Colorado, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Louisiana, entire Eastern coast, etc. These reports also mention the importance of Lake Michigan as a reliable water source and the Midwest typically does not have severe weather compared to other states. The USA has no salinity plants to turn salt water into fresh drinking water. Without abundant rainfall yearly and no access to a major body of fresh water like Lake Michigan, those drought stricken states are screwed. Humans cannot survive without fresh water.

@@llee8825 you're not wrong, but people don't make rational (long-term) decisions. people today are incentivized to make short-term decisions. despite it's inherent cost+resource advantages, the midwest is SHRINKING - people are leaving... because they need a job now (not 30 years ago, and not 30 years from now), or they value sunshine over water and education. bottom line, the midwest is stuck in the previous century... unions, one-party governance, etc. some midwest states (indiana, ohio) are following their southern neighbors into the 21st century, but most midwestern states are going to continue to atrophy for lack of non-boomer leadership/participation.

Even in years that are good on the south side, the Sox are hard-pressed to draw fans. During the year they won the World Series, the Sox only sold out like 10 games. On the north side, a sub 500 season still sees at least half the home dates sold out. Bad ownership, fickle fan base and a very poor ballpark to play in. New stadium won’t help. It’s a Cubs town. Sorry, Sox fans. Truth hurts. Last time I went to a Sox game, it hit me why. Sox fans are football fans looking for something to do in the summer. Just take a look at their parking lot tailgate scene before a Sox game…

I'm UNC alumni - our motto is "State we hate and Duke makes us puke." 😂 Atlanta is not the south except before General Sherman burned it down. Everyone in Atlanta is from northeastern states which is why the Braves have thrived in the city. That's why I tell Jerry, please move to small market Nashville (from the #2 market in the USA) because I would enjoy watching him lose millions since he is a cheap skate. However, the City of Chicago and State of Illinois must demand Jerry leave the White Sox name, logo, and colors (all intellectual property) which belong to the City of Chicago. The Cleveland Browns were forced to do this when they moved to Baltimore. All the Browns' intellectual property was placed into a trust for use by another Cleveland team. The same should happen to the White Sox if this team is moved to Nashville then the City of Chicago should tell Jerry to pound sand!!

I'm a frustrated White Sox fan and I predict: The White Sox are going to break their lease, move to Indianapolis next season (2025) in a minor league ballpark - Victory Field - and then move to Nashville in 2029. The money lost breaking their lease will be less than money lost by reduced attendance to Guaranteed Rate Field for the next five seasons while the franchise rebuilds guaranteeing 500 losses and a yearly attendance of 200,000 in Chicago. The Indiana White Sox will draw 15,000 per game in Victory Field. Indiana fans who failed to get the Indianapolis Arrows in the NL in 1980 and whose last ML franchise was the Federal League Indianapolis Hoosiers in 1914 (the Hoosiers won the FL pennant that season) will shell out $35 major league ticket prices in the hopes that the rebuild will yield improvement by 2027-2028 until the franchise becomes the Nashville Stars in 2030. Indiana fans - however - are very discriminating because the Indianapolis Indians have won 14 Triple A pennants and 7 Triple A playoffs so they may refuse to shell out their hard-earned bucks watching the "Raggedy Sox."

The Stanton contract was a lot longer than 9 years. It was a whopping 13-year/$325M contract which at the time was both the longest and most expensive contract in baseball hiatory. It was also fully guaranteed and came with player opt-outs (which will never be used) as well as a full no-trade clause. In other words it is a nightmare contract for any team. I believe Stanton leveraged his no-trade clause to get the Yankees to extend it even longer as well. He told the Yankees he wouldn't accept the trade unless they agreed to pay him even more than he was already owed. Including this season I think Stanton still has something like 7 years remaining on that deal and he's already been in decline for several years. He basically started declining as soon as the Yankees traded for him. The player opt-outs have already passed and of course Stanton refused to opt-out of the contract because he knows he would never get as much money as the Yankees still owe him on the free agent market because he's already not worth anything close to what he gets paid and will continue to get paid.

As a Cubs fan, I honestly couldn't care less if the Sox are good. As long as they lose the 4 games they play against the Cubs, their winning does not affect me in the least bit. It's great for the city when both teams are competitive.

@@user-js9xm7oc9n it doesn't matter how bad the Sox are... They will have no problem competing with the Cubs.
