So sad. Probably therapeutic on some level for him to do this song. A similar thing just happened with Sam Tompkins. His Dad committed suicide and Sam continued his tour. Everyone would’ve understood if he cancelled, but instead he played the biggest show of his life and dedicated his song ‘Hero’ to his Dad. There’s video out there of this. It’s really tragic and beautiful. Hug your loved ones. Make it count. These days will all be gone one day. ✌️

Family is what it’s all about for me. I completely relate to this song and am so grateful Tim made it. I do like Christmas, but not for the consumerism or the religious foundation of it. I was at odds with myself for years for even ‘celebrating’ it. It felt like I was being strong armed into celebrating a religious holiday that’s not my religion. It felt disingenuous of me. But having a moment to spend time with family, share a drink and a laugh, has become more and more rare the older I get. I appreciate that. This song drives it home that I’m not alone in feeling this way. Merry Christmas to you and yours. ✌️

@@secondhandreactions same - life long atheist (grew up thinking “god” was just like Santa, a story told to kids not something adults believed) but I’ve always enjoyed Christmas for what it means regarding family, thinking of others, etc and this song captures that wonderfully.

Wow. There’s some symmetry here. I had a friend named Paul Kelly who passed away a couple years ago. Paul and some others have been on my mind a lot this season. Weird to see his name show up in the comments here at this moment. I know you mean someone else, but wow. That hit me like a ton of bricks. You can be sure I won’t forget this suggestion. The holidays do get more sentimental as the years go on. It’s sad that some of those days and people are gone. I’m happy to still be here and it’s important to remember that now will one day be a time we all look back on too. Hug your loved ones a lot. Keep your friends happy. Make it count. Merry Christmas. @@secondhandreactions Sorry I reminded you of the loss of your close friend I have also seen a couple of close friends pass in recent years. I guess as you get older its something that you are more likely to exprience but it never gets any easier, There are certainly times or just small things that happen that bring them to mind. We are probably pretty lucky to be able to enjoy xmas with our families their a lot of people in the world who wont get that opportunity. Even here over the last week people have been hit by flooding, cyclones and bushfires so its not looking that great for them either. As you say if you are able to enjoy xmas with your friends and family you really need to make it count you never know what is going to be around the next corner. Paul Kelly (The Aussie one) has been around for a long time and is legendary for his story telling style of songwriting people especially reactors from the US often say that he gives them Bob Dylan or Arlo Guthrie vibes. Merry xmas.

I've tried looking for it someone mentioned it it along while back and haven't been able to watch it yet. Maybe Clay will have better luck finding it.

@@neighborsue I don’t know about seeing it for free, but I see it’s on Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Google Play and RU-vid for purchase. Looking at the price, if you can’t get it any other way, I’d say it’s worth the money for series one…but maybe try the first ep to see if it is up your street?

Since we recorded this reaction I think I’ve listened to this song 100 times. I get choked up every time he says ‘I’ll be seeing my Dad’. Lost mine in 2010. He was gone too soon. It used to be routine to see him, now it’s impossible. It was such a simple thing that has so much importance that I didn’t realize at the time. Hugged your loved ones when you can and appreciate the time you have together. Make memories. Thats what this time of year is really all about. ✌️
