IMO this is Whitney's greatest live performance of all of her songs. The passion, the voice, her performance, and her ability to make you understand how the lyrics affect her. RIP Whitney, we miss you.
That saxophonist is the legendary Kirk Whalum, who was also responsible for the saxophone solo on Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You. In fact, it was this exact band in this concert that played on that record. If you liked this, react to Whitney Houston live in Japan 1991 Saving All My Love For You.
"He'll never forget that moment" You should watch The Greatest Love of All performance from this concert. She brings him on stage at the end of the song. That is Kirk Whalum on Sax. And shout out to Whitney's music director Rickey Minor.
Check-out her Emmy-winning performance of “Saving All My Love For You” at the 1986 Grammy Awards…and follow that up with her opening the 1989 Grammys with “One Moment In Time.” Impossible to have dry eyes!! Just…jaw-dropping. [Also.. her massive medley at the 1994 American Music Awards. Nothing like it..ever!] Whitney Houston is-to me, inarguably-the greatest vocalist to ever step behind a microphone.
Great reaction. If you haven't already heard it, you should check out her performance at 19 years old "Home" from the 'Wiz' in 1983 on the Merv Griffin show.
Your creaky chair made a guest appearance in this video 😊 Excellent reaction, I couldn't agree more about the musicians. From the drummer to the saxaphonist..they were in lock step 💯
