I never know what to say with her, cause I just end up naming everything that makes a great singer, and she does it all better than everyone else. One of her most beautiful performances, although I could say that about countless more. GOAT of reacting & THE G.O.A.T. of vocals is always an amazing combination!
So many comments I see praising Mariah and Celine but the music industry know very well when Whitney Houston stood behind that mic they recognized the diva of all divas
It gets to the point where there is just no other words to say. I've praised this lady to the heavens and back and it still doesn't seem enough. A once in a lifetime talent. Thank you, Whitney!
Yes!!! The one and only--Ms Whitney Elizabeth Houston-The Voice. Happy heavenly birthday Nippy. The way she sounded is beyond phenomenal. This woman could sing anything. Again I’m gonna say it…in her prime Whitney’s voice had no weaknesses.
80s Whitney was truly something magical to witness. Clive is a fool for not mastering and releasing these gems. Can you imagine the unreleased live Whitney performances Arista has in the vault?
@@nezkeys79 you mad ethe most pathetic envious statement and like an empty lamb cant back it up.. Link a late 80s vocal from mariah at this level? hahahahhaha..lambs and the delusion. sad creatures...and oh the early 90s one too, youcan bring the dubbed ones too, we accept them...hahahahah
Listing to your analysis I realized that Whitney LIVE was a true artist; reworking that song, painting it differently, making it, molding it for the audience into something new. Others did that in the studio but she did it LIVE. On the spot. Takes a huge amount of skill, intellect and obviously talent to do that with a group of musicians. Brilliant!
@@drissabderrahmane5750 No,1985-1992 is her best years in her famous years..she's more famous in the 90's but 80's Whitney is different. She's also great from 1982.
even though she used her head voice sparingly here in comparison to other performances of this song, the dynamics were on point, the G4 - C5 glissando at max volume!?! insane
@@swingriah6537 yes...but she has another one in 1991, Wembley arena 10 night (consecutive) a record by the way! it was a glissando, portamento and sforzando all in one.. crazy up to an Eb5 in full chest!
I went to Whitney's concert in Germany in 1998.... it was amazing... I think I was the only American GI there singing loud as hell....Miss you Nippy..RIP
Good to see you Adam & thanks for sharing this. Damn, Whitney was killing it..."a nuke to nothing" I agree. I got chills all over which is nothing new when it came to her...the only voice that could do that to me from the very 1st note.
80’s Whitney was BAAAADDDD! Here’s another rare 80’s performance of “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” I think you would love. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0oKqVeVL4is.html
When I was a young adult, despite being in the rock era, I admired the vocal trinity in some ways (but not a fan). But I have lost interest in some of them, when I saw them perform in a concert (TV) for the first time. Like other singers (in the US), their live performances aint at that level compared to their studio recording songs. Meaning it was enhanced. Even thei live performances (released bu the recording company of the singer) have been "processed/altered, edited" Sometimes I rely on international shows (wherein the singer do not have access to the editing process) to listen to their natural voice and to compare them with other top vocalist. (example World Music Awards all the top Divas performed there). There you will get a possible (meaning it might be true but needs more examples) identification whos real and whos not so real (hyped up).
well this makes zero sense as this an international concert and a fan recording. The artist you are referencing and her fans know her...no editing here. thIS TOTALLY RAW FOOTAGE...
@@odumosuolusegun2781 Wrong its not a fan camera and raw footage. And all singers were using the same recording system. so you could really compare their voices. (from other artists and from the studio recording). For example Live Aids, World Music Awards. Woodstock. Legit vocalists are very consistent in their voices. wherever they perform (in concert, studio, outside the country). Consistency is the word.
@@donovanrobinson1843 Maybe you should check her live performances early in her career and compare her voice a few years after. Hell even my favorite boy band lip sync early in their career.
@@johnj.kalachuchi6495 that doesnt make sense if your suggesting her VOICE would sound different yes because it matured etc but she sang in the original key for the most part if not a step higher and LIVE
