Who Are Lester and Eliza!? - The Simpsons Theory 

I am absolutely certain that this channel will be HUGE if you keep adding similarly themed content. I’m subscriber 318 in July of 2020. I’m just carving this here digitally as if on an oak tree. I figure that after a fair amount of time I’m going to accidentally run into this comment again & that this channel will be at 100k + followers. Compliments on your choice of creative endeavor.

Shelbyville is Springfield's twin city where you'll find doppelgangers of nearly every citizen from Springfield. One such example is Joe, who happens to be doppelganger of Moe. Both guys even share the same career of bartender.

I always thought that Lester & Eliza are Gerald Samsons older siblings you know the monobrow baby and Maggie's rival

in the season 24 episode Adventures in Baby-Getting its revealed that Homer donated sperm at the Shelbyville fertility clinic under the alias Thad Supersperm to get enough cash to buy a corvette so I think Eliza & Lester are the results of one of homers sperm donations

They are from Shelbyville. No wonder why they beat Springfield on hockey almost half of the time! hahaha

Yeah, there is something off about Lester and Eliza. They definitely give off a weird Hitchcock vibe.

I remember an episode where Bart meets a doppelganger of his who turns out to be rich but unhappy so swaps places with him. Can't remember what that episode is called though

I think Lester and Eliza could be relatives of the original simpsons, I mean they do look alike the original simpsons as you mentioned in the video, and Lester and Eliza don’t really like them judged by lester’s stare. I think they want revenge for what Ned (check my comment on you’re original simpsons death theory) did to them and how they miss they’re fellow family.

Maybe Lester and Eliza are the kids of one of The Simpsons' relatives who Homer rounds up at the end of "Lisa The Simpson" to try and prove to her that she isn't doomed because of the Simpson gene. It would make sense considering that every male character in that scene were all Homer lookalikes and that one of them look a bit like Lisa (Dr. Simpson)

Wouldn't the fear and possible danger that a doppleganger would know your weaknesses, be countered by the fact that you know theirs? Wouldn't it make more sense to join forces with a doppleganger?

When bart sees Lester on the skateboard, its as if Bart has become a side character in his house while Lester takes over as the Main character.

As much as I love overthinking these kinds of one-off gags in any show, I always thought the bit with Lester and Eliza was meant to be a nod to the same way Itchy & Scratchy Studios ripped off other characters :P The whole joke being that they were founded, closed down, and saved without proper credit ever being given to anyone who was actually responsible at every step of the journey.

I've just watched this simpsons episode today on TV and thought about Lester and Eliza. Few hours later I see this video as recommended on RU-vid. Just a coincidence?

Fact: I was once in vacation and several people confused me with another person, who, to their words, looked exactly like me. And I never have the chance to meet my doppleganger. That was so uncanny. Expecially by how active this person was.

Think about the nature of the episode and the nature of Itchy and Scratchy. There was one episode where Bart and Lisa were talking with the producer of the cartoon and he tells them they recycle scenes while walking through a looping hallway animation. Now, this episode mentions how there have been a number of shows and cartoons that are knock offs of and take inspiration from others. Lester and Eliza are probably supposed to be the knock off versions of Bart and Lisa, thus they were intended to be another joke that's similar to the nature of the looping hallway.

Sam and Larry, I have always assumed that one of them was the one who called Homer "Bill."

It was a gag that went along with the episode. The episode was about them finding out that Itchy and Scratchy were rip offs of another cartoon created by a homeless man. So, Lester and Eliza represent the episode.

Lester and Eliza are just convenience characters the show writers made last minute to reset the show to where it was at the beginning. They clearly did it well though to have all these people inferring much more than they really are. I see them for what they are.... a nice gag but nothing for me to think any harder about.

Man... I forgot about Hugo. That was the one Tree House of Horror I kind of wish was real or at least got a sequel. Loved the discussion on the history of doplegangers and its symbolism in media.

Lester and Eliza are me and Lisa from another Springfield and they somehow ended up in our Springfield.

Lester and Eliza are actually old drawings of Bart and Lisa respectively that were dropped onto the cutting room floor and ended up being brought to life by a nuclear glow stick that also dropped. That’s my theory.

That whole episode hinges around the idea that Itchy and Scratchy are doppelgangers of the originals as a parody of how some modern, well known cartoon characters can also trace their ancestry back to an idea "borrowed" from another production. Having Lester and Eliza in there is absolutely a tongue-in-cheek meta joke - an admission that the Simpsons has done exactly the same thing, or something close to it.

That Treehouse of Horror couch gag is such a REACH.....

actually after me and my friends watch one of this episode one of them say that lester and eliza are actually bart and liza old design some of them say that lester and eliza are from another universe / timeline even one of my cousin say that lester and eliza could be the lost twin’s im not honestly sure with all of these theory’s

They were 2/3 my size and this is where it gets weird, we have the same first name. We were not exactly friends but we did see each other downtown a lot, it was a fun place to hang back then. It's interesting how Seasons 7 and 8 had so many meta jokes like this and Poochie that indicate the writers thought the show had run its course. And yet it kept going.

I have a twin in my city. Its not even where I grew up, but multiple people have talked to me about him, mistaking us for the same people. I have never seen him however. Probably a good thing, given certain supernatural lore and what not.

I've never met my doppelganger but I know she's out there, & living relatively close 2 me. I was attending the local college & was supposed 2 pick up a friend. I was just about 2 pull in2 the campus parking lot when my friend called sayin he saw me comin but I didnt stop & nearly ran him over. I told him I wasnt even on campus yet but he was sure it was me. At the time I was driving a bright blue station wagon, shes got the car...same yr, make, model, & color. We've both got long dark hair & glasses. She even had a soft surfboard rack ontop of her car, the same kind I have. Later that yr my best friends grandmother died & I went 2 the funeral. I picked up my friend cuz I didnt want her driving. While at the church my dad called several times, so I stepped outside 2 c if everything was ok. Dad was very mad at me & yelling how could I not go 2 the funeral. When i told him i was at the church he called me a liar cuz he just saw me at the other end of town. He really didnt believe me until he talked with my friends mom! Whoever this girl is we must look so much alike my dad was unable 2 tell the difference! I always really wanted 2 meet her but i didnt know the whole thing about people dying after meeting their doppelganger. I don't know how much I believe that tho so I still wanna meet her

They could be part of the original simpsons family (before they were mysteriously killed) they travelled into another universe and disguised their names, then they were never seen again, like the rest of the original. 2. Wherever these doppelgängers are coming from, they could be the daughter and son of Guy Incognito

Once when I was at my local Subway getting a sandwich with my Grandma, they were giving out some pan flits for a special event in the Miami aquarium and it had a picture of a boy that looked just like me and for a second my Grandma thought it was me on the picture.

well i have 2 dopplegangers but when you a tripplet that nothing strange

this reminds me that apu has a doppleganger. in the episode where the whole town ws hiding out in ned's sheleter. ned goes out and sings to himself. the rest of the town comes after him. but as they are doing so there is an apu with yellow skin walking up the hill. the next time we see apu in the crowd, he looks like his regular self. maybe this other apu was a visitor from another town like shelbyville. maybe it's just an animation error but was odd to see.

My friend in my hometown said he saw me walking across the street calling my name, I looked but never answered and walked off. He messaged me right after when did I get into town, I said " I wasn't I'm thousand miles away from there". He said "so weird he just looks like you height and Walk".
