I would say that these Six may be in referance to the *Six Cardinal Sins* considering Dain is the only (for now) remaining person from Khaenri'ah who still remembers his origins (even if its eroding) and is one of the six prominent figures and strong fighter from the Fallen kingdom. (Kaeya and Peirro don't strike to me as someone whos powerful nor influencial like on Dain's level) It won't be a stretch to consider him to be sinner in someway or the other. We have to unravel that for ourselves, besides hasn't he already asked to duel us at the "end of the journey" and that we "demand him to step aside" ? From the Travail Trailer. Back to Dain and the 5 sinners, they could very well represent the Six Cardinal Sins form Sumeru's Akademiya (we should also remember that Akademia was founded 1000 years ago, meaning it could be still be around during the Crimson Dynasty). The Six Cardinal Sins are as follow: 1.Interfering with human evolution 2.Tampering with life and death 3.Delving beyond the universe 4.Investigating the origin of words 5.Revering gods without acts of devotion 6.Attempting the forbidden and fearing none You can very well see that some actually links with each of the sinners like "Gold, Rhinnedotirr" and her obsession with creating "lIfe" from Alchemy, to a point she created beings using Abyssal Powers defiling the meaning of life and tampering with death (her creations technically can never cease to exists) Though its just speculations. I would definitely dwell on this.
I wouldn't be surprise if the sinners didnt protect khaenri'ah because they insted had went and gone to celestia to beat the heavenly principals into a coma so bad that it still sleep till now

I initially thought the abyss order and the Fatui are the main threat of Genshin impact bc both are bad guy factions but different goals one wants to destroy the world while the other wants to world domination
I thought the Fatui were basically Tsaritsa's henchmen to were either trying to revive the 3rd descender/Dragon King to take on Celestia/Heavenly Principles and the Abyss are basically Vedrfolnir's creation to cause havoc and follow some unknown motive. 😊

Keep in mind that Targalia’s power from the Abyss is the “Foul Legacy”. On that note I do not think you can outrule that Tartaglia’s power comes from Sirtalogi himself. Especially since Sirtalogi is “The Foul”. The power of the abyss he wields is not from Skirk but rather from one of Sinners. It looks like our resident warmonger will continue to be an integral part of the story from here on out.

something's about to go down in the inevitable war. and due to all the nordic references im inclined to believe its going to be a sort of ragnarok. surtalogi is the name of surtr's flaming sword. dain is a bit suspicious, given his line in travail about using power from beyond the world to defy it. he seems genuinely concerned about what happened to the people and getting vengeance on the others however. vdlfolnir being the one who elucidated on the profecy is interesting.

8:10 clearly each of the "Sinners" has a specialty which they are pursuing whether it's wisdom, fighting, fate, alchemy or killing Arlecchino's relatives off. Dain's own specialty is pissing people off by running out before he explains anything. The Seventh Sinner is perfecting the ability to rip the end of those 12 packs of soda off cleanly in one go. Apparently Abyssal energy helps with all these perfections.
No, I thought it was great. I think I'll throw them another $10. I'm seeing some funny lore reactions here and there though, so I couldn't help poking some fun at it. To my mind ever since the game started we've had no real Abyssal indigenous population. The Abyss Order are just waiting to go home, the Rifthounds feel like they are passing through, and of the other things from the Cataclysm the Hilichurls and Ruin guards and the big monsters like Dvalin and Elynas are explained. Nothing seems to come from the Abyss. So I was hoping the Surtalogi group might be an exception but now it seems they are Khaenri'ahns too. The 2nd Who Came supposedly (GoF/Amethsdt Crown) came with buddies but it feels increasingly like they all forgot to bring their physical bodies. Even the material destruction part seems outsourced to Nibelung. Is the 2nd just a pandora's box labelled "don't open"? If Surtalogi is not an outsider how did he get the number of that devouring narwhal delivery service? And there's Dain pretending to be pissed at the use of the Abyss energy when he plainly states that, "humanity will defy this world with a power from beyond". Well that's the Abyss buddy. Are we getting picky now? You were wanting some OTHER power from beyond powerful enough to defy the Primordial One? Good luck with that. None of this is without precedent which is to be expected 4 years in to the game. I'm glad they re-emphasized a lot of it, including that the Sibling is 100% chill, but is their inability to explain what's going on to the Traveler entirely game mechanics (ie the artificial need to parcel out the story) or is it meant to have an in-lore explanation? When Sibling says "Times like these are not easy to come by" are you meant to think "and whose fault is THAT?" or are you meant to think "Aha so some force limits the Sibling's ability to communicate openly with Traveler as yet". @@DawitsLookingforEmilia

The sinners sound sus asf but I'm not sure if Dain can be trusted... I mean, Alice knows Gold from the hexenzirkel and, as the coven's Elder, probably knows what all of them are up about. Still, she chooses to leave Klee, her own child, in Teyvat of all places. Maybe she left her in Mondstadt because it's the gateway to Celestia, and could be the "safest" place to be, but... idk. Maybe she has an agreement about not letting them mess with Mond? Who knows. As always, abyss sibling quests leave more questions than lore drops
Why would Alice's trust be a good character witness for Rhinedottir? Despite the game's desperate attempts to present her solely as "Klee's cool mum", if you look into the lore about her, you will quickly find out that Alice is a maniac.
Are they really villains or is there a true villain. A hero in his/her own story. Disrupting fate and weaving things to there own benefit. I honestly wonder about the Traveler and if he/she is the true villain. Future's not set in stone, the present isn't but the past is. 500 years and who's to say the sequence of events isn't culminating into something more.

Considering the traveler's sibling is aligning themselves with the Abyss, I feel it's somewhat clear that the Abyss is definitely not purely evil like they want you to think. And considering how much the gods of Teyvat are distancing themselves from Celestia, it seems that Celestia is working out to be the main villain. The Abyss is more of a neutral party that is getting "manipulated" in the fight against Celestia...but they are also enemies of Teyvat as well. It's definitely not black and white which is pretty cool tbh...

I have my own theory, relating to the 5 Sinners. "Yaldabaoth created twelve archons, giving each a bit of his power. It's been a long standing theory that there are 5 missing powers in Genshin, yet for years, we've been unable to figure out what these powers are, or what they correspond to. 7 Archons that serve Celestia, 5 Sinners of the Abyss. 7 Elements of the Archons, and 5 unknown powers. So what if Genshins missing powers correspond to each of the 5 Sinners of Khaenri'ah?

With the completion of the loom of fate what if the abyss is somehow able to use it to turn Dain towards their side and then we ultimately have to fight the sinners as well after they somehow defeat Celestia. Celestia is kind of under pressure from both sides due to the abyss and the cryo archon.

@@DawitsLookingforEmilia Being Transcendent also make it credible since it means "Gods that is not part of the world" meaning they comparing them to the gods above and not the archons living among the mortals in the world. The quest also stated that teyvat is indeed a planet giving dain a credible reference about their power.
I still believe that these Sinners are somewhat (even loosely) based on the horsemen. The horseman come in 2 variations, Genshin could be mix and matching to make up the 5 sinners and their ideals. So far we have a knight, a commander of wild beasts/witch, an avenger/warrior, a prophet/visionary and a King/Sage. I also think some of these entities could closely be connected with Irmin, and the Alberich and Perinheri names. Theres also theories of potential connections for them and Dain to the 6 Pigmys.

Exactly what I was thinking about. Even if the Traveler restores their powers back, both twins lost so miserably to only one god (presumably shade). How we even plan to fight anybody? I’m not even talking about Arle’s reality check moment.
@@TanyaKory Our adventures in the game show that while the twins are not that powerful on their own, they are really good at spearheading the efforts of large groups of other people, including vision-holders and adepti. So if one twin were to lead the forces of the Abyss Order, and the other to lead the forces of people of Teyvat, whoever is their target has no chances.
I think the 5 Sinners might be attempting to either create Descenders or trying to imitate the Heavenly Principles. Rhinedottir is able to create life, and her Primordial Human project has been theorized to be an attempt to create a Descender for a while now. You know who else can create life? The Shade of Life, that's right. Surtalogi is training people and looking for some form of perfection, similarly to Rhinedottir, according to Skirk. I think this Descender being created by him is Tartaglia. This would explain why his Vision doesn't work properly. In the Nazissenkreuz Quest, Rene says that having a Vision is like being bound by the Heavenly Principles' shackles. His Vision malfunctioning might be a sign that Tartaglia's breaking free from even that. Another one would be Vedrfolnir. He's trying to use the Loom of Fate to reweave the Leylines, but you probably need a Descender to do so (Dain did say that the threads of Fate will be ours to reweave, which might be a hint towards that). The Loom of Fate basically does the same thing as Istaroth, the Shade of Time. I don't wanna talk too much about the others for now as we just don't know enough about them. Rerir, Hroptatyr, I just know too little about them for now to apply this theory to them. But they do amount to 5, and so far the 2 we know the most about check both boxes, aside from Surtalogi who we don't know which God he may he a "counterpart" to. I'd assume it's that of death, since Surtalogi is the fire used by Surtr to burn the World. I'll speculate that he could be a "counterpart" to the Shade of Death

No, Surtalogi is another word which translates to "Surt's Fire". It is the sword used by Surtr in order to destroy the world in Ragnarok in Norse Mythology.
So there is an important detail that most CC's seem to overlook. The Sinner from Clothars quest calls Clothar a "creature". The sinner is not talking to the traveller he is talking to Clothar because he asks why he bows down, and the traveller is standing up. This is similar to how Apep talks about human beings, if the Sinner Surtalogi was another animal before he became the floating guy it would be normal for him to view humans as creatures. Since Surtalogi is the sinner that has been mentioned in game it would make sense if he was him, but it could also be Vedrfolnir since he talks about fate a whole lot.

I am lost with the hierarchy of Genshin "gods"- We have Archons We have Dragons We have the Sinners We have characters like Skirk We have the Heveanly Principels and the Sustainer of them (the unknown "god" from the begining) Who is higher? How does this work? I feel like I am watching DB and we meet Kami-Sama without knowing there are all kinds of KAIOS above them.
So how many bad guys are there in Genshin Impact ? The 5 Sinners, The Abyss Order, The anti-heroes being the Fatui Harbingers Whereas the neutral party being Hexenzcirkel. Celestia and the Heavenly Principles being the endgame. And the Dragon Sovereigns being the former rulers and the Archons just some sort of Guards.
I think Vedrfolnir has done a lot worse things that we don't know about. He erased the end of us twin's journey from Iremusul's records. Nahida can't imagine what else the person who can do this can do
I don't think that the Vinster King is Irmin. That's because Irmin is already one of the 5 sinners: Hroptatyr is just another name for Odin, just like Irmin - here, valueing him being a "Sage", therefore he is "the Wise". WIsdom is what Odin most seeks, and also bringing back the Silver Twig, wich is wildly known that talks about Odin'ts story about seeking unknown knowledge, he is referenced there as "A sage". Therefore, Irmin wasn't just Khaenri'ah's King, he was a Sage King who became one of the Sinners. To add on this, we also can assume that Irmin suddenly disappeared by the Cataclysm - since he is referenced to being MIA, but also never stated to be dead. It really would fit for him to become a Transcendent Being.
So what is Pierro doing in Fatui? He know that the real villains are the 5 sinners So why doing all this with faturi against the sustainer of heavenly principles?

I wanted to play thru the quest before commenting on your videos so sorry about the delayed response It was interesting quest and your video was excellent in explaining; but it left me with even more questions in terms of the Fatui's plans till I had the sudden though: What if one of the Sinners usurped The Primordial One/Heavenly Principles and is running the show so to speak. Maybe the Tsarista and her followers are not fighting against the Heavenly Principles but are trying to aid them in some way?

You kind of have to remember that the abyss seems to be its own entity, in its own right. Like we know the dragons were battling against the abyss, like Khaenri'ah was back before the nation went Kaboom. Its an entity that will actively use the ambitions and emotions of another against the 'Light' side. What probably happened is that the 5 sinners were so very desperate to defy fate (likely the destruction of the nation, as seen from a prophecy) that they ended up overusing abyssal power and became corrupted by it. In a sense they might be like demi-god puppets for abyss, who think they are in control of their powers. As for the sibling, the abyss probably turned their homesickness and nostalgia against them. The moment they met chlotar, it was like witnessing someone begin to give up and walk away from the light. (What's the chance that joining the abyss order actually lessened their chances of finding the traveller. /headcanon) Not to mention that dain's brother likely manipulated the shi outta them too since i guess he's the at probably at least a huge influence on abyss order's decisions?? Like ik they're doing the whole "the ends justify the means even ik its messed up" thing. But there's a massive chance they're probably being used, if the sibling is the "abyss" to them, then of course the 5 sinners need to have them under their foot. All through the pressure of liberating Khaenri'ah from fate. It's not looking good for them rn. It's definitely heading down the "I will change your mind, by physically beating the f out of you" route, like we did with raiden. Of course we don't know everything, hopefully we see dain in fontaine and that natlan maybe gives us something that switches things up in favour of the abyss order or fatui's goals.
@DawitsLookingforEmilia when Dein is talking about killing the 5 sinners, the camera does these glitchy jumps closer to his face a few times. It increases the drama of the scene, but it is so different from how Hoyo usually directs their camera. In other media, these sort of effects would be used to undermine the reliability of the situation, calling into question sanity, or even the stability of the world. It feels... sus. I might be reading too much into it. Maybe someone just found a new fun effect. Maybe Penacony's rug pull left me feeling paranoid about Hoyo's plots.
