- the times when they are forced by Riot to go full marketing and add anything that is popular without regard for existing lore like Malphite cards, Cithria Lady of Clouds, KDA.
meanwhile, the league game itself keeps producing recycled champions but can't afford to hire someone who will work with their old champs visual update
@@alexcote9243 yeah hes the primordial force of paronia and nightmares , because that is how demons work in the league univers. Every demon kinda has their own bad feeling attached to them of what they feast, tahm kench is greed, eveleynn is lust, fiddlesticks is fear and nocturne would be like paranoia or something like that.
He does know, Swain knows everything, he's almost as knowledgeable as Aurelion sol. But he won't risk destroying his nation just to take down the black rose, he's probably planning something.
Yeah, I have to assume swain knows and is letting it Continue as it furthers his own ends somehow. Having an unkillable zombie unit will be handy in any war. Maybe that is just the price he is willing to pay for peace.
There is a quote of kindred in legends of runttera where she is telling the wolf about a story sh was talking about swain she almost said whats swain promised the demon in return for his power
The woman that is about to be crushed by sion is actually the radiant guardian and by her lance sticking out of him we can assume that she managed to "kill" sion
I'm curious tho, did this happen before or after the demacians ventured into the Shadow Isles? Necrit said that she dies fighting the wraiths but there's also a possibility that she didn't and she was positioned in this outpost where she finally dies from Sion. Which is which I wonder.
Or Maybe a Radiant Guardian as a Demacian Rank and they just put "that" Radiant Guardian for viewers like us to connect the dots. As you can see she held a high position as she can be seen commanding Demacian Troops in the defense of the outpost
I was excited about this!!!! Necrit, Sion didnt die against Jarvan in 1 on 1 combat, Sion killed Jarvan battling him and his elite bodyguards and entire army! Pretty sure noble rebel was a darkwill supporter.
I love that the cards complement each other and if you examine each one of them, they connect together forming a whole story just like Caitlyn's cards telling the lore of C.
This is really cool, I'd like to see if they are the mages of the noxian military in opposition to demacias mageseekers. Maybe even being demonised by the demacian general population as the example of evil magic.
Not only that in the Galiu lore it's shown that they capture enemy mages and sacrifice them to awaken Galius he doesn't like it but it was the hole reason why he has so much respect to Sion both are weapons used against their will hey wait a minute is Galiu now the hound and Sion the mountain
Me before Sion in LoR: "Ehhhh Sion's kinda boring? I mean, he's just a tank who hits stuff really hard and has an AoE stun." Me after Sion in LoR: "I believe in Grey Legion supremacy."
His armor(body) is not complete, his body was split into different places so he couldn't be revived. His head is in the shadow isles from what i remember.
@@smittywerben1849 thats old lore, now leblanc hides it in the deepest bowels of the immortal bastion, and morde is building an army in the realm of death he built, mitna rachnun. he is pretty close to coming back acually, and plans to, and leblanc knows it, hence she is shit scared and trying to find anything to slow him down if he does. it'd be so funny of the reason he comes back is actually them just fucking with stuff they shouldn't and undoing themselves lmao
I think Swain is aware of what LeBlanc is doing. As sneaky as she is, it's kinda difficult to not notice a zombie warlord trampling Demacian strongholds. Swain is also empowered by a demon that allows him to detect secrets. I firmly believe Swain knows what's going on and is planning some way to make sure LeBlancs plans don't harm Noxus.
Swain knows everything and thats why he needs time to plan all the time he can get cuz he knows Mordekaiser know Le Blanc was going to kill him and let it happen so he can go to his death realm Swain knows Mordekaiser was planing something big when he died and now his in the death realm where Swain can finde out what his going to do next he needs to let Le Blanc do what shes doing shes hes beats hope against Mordekaiser. You have to look at it like this you know almost everything there is this guy how was planing something big for a long time you dont know what his doing when he is doing it all you know is he is coming and you need to be ready but again you cant let your nation fall a part Noxus needs to keep growing Swain cant let all of Noxus just go to stop ing Mordekaiser since he doesnt know if Mordekaiser will come in his life time but if he is not ready then its all over so he needs to split his forces his time... his trying to build up Noxus but well one day Mordekaiser will come and when that day comes all Swain, Le Blanc, Vladimir... have been doing over the years will be put to the test.
As usual, great vid papa Necrit :) just wanted to mention a small detail, I’m not sure if u missed it or if I just misunderstood the text: in the Grave Physician’s flavor text, a young noblewoman “with blood blackened by betrayal” is mentioned, I assumed the blackened blood meant that she was dead, making her the “would-be traitor” shown in the Noble Rebel card I would guess that the Lady of Blood brought the corpse/dying body of the Noble Rebel to Dr Esslanger, and she was his first revived patient, hence it is referenced as the moment when he “truly started serving Noxus”
The Rebel card probably is the traitor mentioned in the doctor's card discription. And the nothing mentioned in Sion's card probably is the death realm, right? So, why it doesn't mention Morderkaiser castle?
For some reason when I look at Noble Rebel it makes me think back to the Sisterhood of War series where Riven killed one of her friends who was once a member of a noble family in Noxus, the fact that the person in the card is covering half of their face as well as the part where the exposed belly was makes me think of it like that.
I was sad that Sion and Lady of Blood didn't had any interactions with Leblanc :< I really hope we gonna see more of The Grey Legion and Black Rose as a whole, the most interesting lore
Thanks for the awesome videos Necrit. Without the lore I wouldn't be playing and without you I wouldn't know the lore.I hope you still enjoy making these videos as much as I enjoy watching :)
At first, Sion’s story had aggressive game of thrones undertones. But now that i can see that the Gray Legion can revive the dead en masse, like a forge master, I can see that Sion’s story has aggressive Castlevania undertones.
Mordekaiser should be really pissed that everyone is either not dying due to the black mist, noxus reviving fallen soldiers. Man can't make his own death realm in peace.
8:10 I’d like to point out that there are crows in the Nobel Rebel’s background. It’s my understanding that she was a spy/conspirator against noxus and swain obviously discovered her, she was subsequently executed and resurrected to fight for the nation she was against.
Loved the video as usual, you never fail to deliver all the cool details and info but i should note because I was hoping you'd mention it but isn't the person Sion is going to crush the Radiant Guardian? because they are identical the only thing missing is the cape. If it is her poor thing imagine escaping the expedition to the shadow isles only to be crushed by Sion
I always love your lore reviews, but there is one thing I would love to see you do, and that is at least look over "The man with the grinning shadow" because the way you speak about the lore and tell the stories is just great, maybe look a bit into the High Noon universe too?
@Necrit the person "Sion Returned" is pushing on the ground is not only featured in another cards background, but as a card itself. The talk is about the "Radiant Guardian". I cannot think of a connection since this card is shown fighting the undead terrors of the shadow isles. But i just wanted to mention what i noticed ;)
The noble rebel was a Noxian conspirator that was was slain and revived. He's an example of what happens to traitors, causing Noxian nobles to be loyal to the empire.
I think the Noble Rebel card is the noblewoman in question by the Grave Physician card. I think she was taken to him so Dr. Esslanger could learn how to 'use' the resurrection magic.
There is also a new Ionia card that features Ahri and what looks to be a member of her species, plus we now know where Poros come from thanks to the Proto Poro.
Yo Necrit, how much you wanna bet the next big lore event is noxus suddenly expanding over the nation's a t much faster rate due to the Grey legions revival magic. But then thresh brings back mordekaiser and mordes just like "yo bro thanks for the free army"
Lols story with the ruination is pretty much fame of thrones and the Grey legion instantly reminded me of GoT as well but I don't mind it it's a great universe for complicated stories
The grey legion already has realy good mmo material, like an subclass of a warrior that u can pick if u pick the grey legion path and get to be a warrior using blood magic or summ
This might be a teaser for a future second invasion of Ionia?? Now Sion is oficially (in the lore) revived and weaponized by Noxus, so a possible invasion of Ionia as a summer event just like the ruination is not unlikely. That way they can make canon the only part of the awaken cinematic that is not yet canon. The cinematic had 3 parts, Jhin vs Camille (canon since the release of Zed's comic), Draven vs Riven (Canon since the story sisterhood of war and the ruination) and the third part was Irelia, Akali, Karma, Yasuo and Kennen fighting Sion.
And now is the time for war of the clon... I mean undead in a far far away galaxy in Runeterra. I'd love to see how shadow isles undead would interact with hemomancially ressurected enemies.
