I liked the Abi Palmer film about showing the weather to her cats, and the Hester Yang film - the subject has interested me since the Open Eye did a show of Bert Hardy photos exposing the conditions the Chinese seamen were living in. Also Nina Davies' Bionic Step film which nicely wierd.

I did enjoy that Abi Palmer film and should have mentioned it. Unlike you, I hadn't heard about the Chinese Seamen in Liverpool but am going to find out more.

I missed the submission date this year. But my application is in my diary for next year.

Get the submission in because it is such a great showcase. Because I work full time, I can't get to see all the new and graduate stuff I would like, so rely on shows like this to get a feel for exciting new work.

I agree the turner this year was rather boring - hoping that I get selected for NC when I graduate Goldsmiths in 2 years time !

Thank you for watching and go for it. It is a great showcase so fingers crossed. I was impressed with the selection. I think because artists are involved, there is a good understanding of the artistic vision.
