It’s just plain ignorant when haters say, “He has no content or substance in his songs,” but this song along with Lose Yourself, Sing for the Moment, When I’m Gone, The Way I Am, Mockingbird, Not Afraid, Beautiful, Darkness, Higher, and Like Toy Soldiers screams content and substance. Meanwhile, they turn around praise mumble rappers and others who talk about nothing but sex, money, and how many fancy things they have.

You should listen to “infinite” by Eminem. It’s off of his album “infinite,” that got him signed with Dre. It’s an amazing song and his rhyme scheme is ridiculous! Plus, he pretty much predicts his rise. It’s legendary!

After Stan and Cleaning out my Closet which was the first songs i ever heard of Em. Rock Bottom came out and i heard it, i was going through a serious amount of unfortunate events leading me to be even more mentally ill and no home. Nothing to fall back on. Walking all this time, listening to this song again and again, it is a proper way to explain what Rock Bottom is and how anyone can go through a very bad time in their lives. I mean, Em literally is the everyday man. He was even more recluse than ever before, focusing on writing. Came back after all the shit talk to talk his shit. The man is a legendary writer in his own rights. I hope more listen and see pass all the crazy stuff. His whole discography paints a picture deeply. Even the silly shit he does

Hahaha!! This is when I saw Eminem at a festival out in san bernadino with Dr. Dre & Snoop. I was on my friends shoulders, LOL 😂🤣😂🤣 those days where all the guys have their shirts off. And eminem was so new that I didnt even know who he was. I went to see fre and snoop. But my friend I was with was all about going to see eminem because he liked his mushrooms song. Lol SO CRAZY!! then Em BLEW UP not long after and I was like 😳 WHAT! I just saw that guy front row and had no idea who he would become. It was a great show, good, fun times! But I wouldn't ever go back, once you grow up looking back at the childish things you did as a adult seem so ridiculous. Lol I wasn't even 18 at the time, I think we had to sneak in or at least we had to sneak beers. 🤣😂🤣

Hopefully you guys will do a few more songs off The Slim Shady LP- I’d recommend Just Don’t Give a Fuck, 97’ Bonnie & Clyde, and Guilty Conscience. That will give you some context to move on to the Marshall Mathers LP, which was basically a reaction to all the negative publicity that came from the Slim Shady LP. Keep up the great work!

We were with power because my grandpa boss didn’t pay the bill though they paid the rent. Happened multiple times. Having to go to other family homes to take a bath. We were poor but because most people in our county were I didn’t know until I grew up and left. It’s sad when I go back, it has gotten worse so I understand the sentiment of this song even as adult. The struggle is real. Generation poverty is hard to break it takes a mindset shift.

I live just a bit west of Detroit. I have experienced winters so bitter cold that our furnace couldn't compete with it. Frost forms INSIDE the windows of the house, you can see your every breath, faucets have to be left running a fast drip all the time so the pipes don't freeze and burst (leaving you flooded, iced, water damaged, and without a source of water or method of sewage disposal), and if you go outside without protection over your skin (winter clothes) and touch metal it will cause instant frostbite (death of cells) and taking a breath without a scarf or mask can make you feel like you are dying (which you may be). Yeah, cold is definitely worse. 🌬❄💀

My dad growing up had no heating and he remembers one cold winter in the UK where there was ice on the inside of the window, and when they had a bath it was by the fireplace just long enough to heat the water, but he was 4th youngest so by the time he bathed the water was cold and dirty already. And the incredible thing is he still looks back and says at least they had something more than most. Perspective helps you through life

You can relate, shit this rock bottom can be true in the past and even now, especially if you are one of those people who lost their apartment because of covid, loosing jobs because work got less and less needed since exports dried up, only the big companies could carried on. All of this sure happened to me last year! Last year I had to apply to more jobs than the last 4 or 5 years!

Cold with no furnace or hot with no AC? Hot with no AC is probably worse. In the cold, you can always add layers to warm up but in the heat you can only get so naked before there is no more helping. And great song reaction, btw lol I always go back and forth on which is his best album. It's either this one, The Slim Shady LP, or Marshall Mathers LP. This one feels a lot more raw and real. Some of the lyrics in this particular song are so real it just gives me goosebumps, like "My daughter wants to throw the ball but I'm too stressed to play. Live half my life and throw the rest away."
