If I was needing a successful ad agency, I would be calling the one that made this ad for OPSEU. It was pointed, sarcastic and a great parody of Galen Weston. I enjoyed this mostly for the satire...all politics aside.

Support LCBO Workers they pay for all essential services in Ontario ! Hospitals - Police - Etc If the LCBO Is private then Tax Payers will have to pay the bill!

If the LCBO is abolished, we can collect more tax money from private industry than we currently collect from the LCBO. The existence of this monopoly is actively taking more money from every single taxpayer than a private industry would.

@@digginggopher Not sure what you're suggesting here. As far as TBS goes, the government recently payed out $225M to break its deal with them and accelerate privatization. Why do you imagine they did that?

The money is not linning his pockets its keeping all those massive LCBO box stores running costs on hydro and lease payments.That's why the union is worried and it's time for a new platform for costs and effectiveness to allow the small distilleries and craft brewing buisnesses to make more money by a larger logistical footprint.I apologize about loss jobs but you can not expect to retire stocking shelfs.

What a ridiculous joke, to suggest that the LCBO is a positive contributor to our economy in any way. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Take your nonsensical relic of prohibition back to the past where it belongs, and stop wasting government money paying for land, energy, and employee salaries. That can all be handled by the private sector, and there doesn't need to be any change to the revenue collected by our government.

Except the government isn't wasting money: LCBO generates its own revenues and doesn't rely on government support. LCBO employs locals, pays taxes to the municipalities, and the profits go to the government and fund people's services.

@@FlakAttack0 every bit of revenue that is spent on rent, property tax, and employee salaries is wasted revenue. Private industry could eat all of these costs, provide the products at a lower price to consumers, and generate more tax money for the government.

@junkfoodguy Exactly, the government broke its deal with TBS because they realize they can collect more tax money from private industry. That's the same reason they're moving to privatize the LCBO. To suggest that this move will somehow remove money from the public coffers is laughably disingenuous.
