Lucy’s vocals are incredible, she is the ultimate performer and is going places, we are hooked and would love you to check out some of her recent performances at Lucy Thomas music, you will not be disappointed. Her latest release, ‘Evergreen’, love theme from “A Star is Born”, Barbra Streisand. Lucy absolutely nails it. Thank you for your reaction 😊👏👏
Lucy now has 750,000 subscribers to her RU-vid channel ‘Lucy Thomas Music’ and does amazing duets with her sister Martha who is 5 years younger. Lucy’s likely career path is musical theatre and is co-producing the musical ‘Rosie’ due to be launched in the West End late next year.

@@REACTIONDIARIES yes thanks I’ve seen and loved your reactions to both “Evergreen” and “Wonderful World”. I hear you’re doing “ The prayer” next? If so I know you’ll love it!
Now that you have had a small taste of Lucy Thomas. I would suggest for you to try some more. Lucy is from the UK. She has more than 60 recordings. 3 days ago she released a new recording “Evergreen”. It is just mesmerizing. Lucy will play the lead roll in new musical called “Rosie”. It will open at the West End in London next fall. I recommend you listen to her version of “Hallelujah”. It has over 50 million views and was the theme song for the movie “A Wing and a Prayer” starring Denise Quad. Thanks for the great review.
@@REACTIONDIARIES The RU-vid link is #lucythomasmusic. I also need to tell you that Lucy and her younger sister by 5 years have recorded some great duets. Plus if you want to put a smile on your face you should listen to Lucy, Martha, and their Mum singing a old Charlie Chapman song “Smile”. Happy listening.
Lucy is from England. Always liked Katherine but, Lucy Thomas in terms of tone quality, control and power is on another level. Lucy is much younger than Katherine and has been singing like this since she was 10. We all have our own likes and dislikes. Katherine's version was very good thanks for sharing it. Always like your reactions. Thank You!
Congratulations on discovering Lucy. While not yet famous, her commitment to her craft, her warm personality and her faultless technique will make Lucy a household name one day soon. ☺

Lucy Thomas does a brilliant cover of this song. I can’t fault her vocals here. She absolutely nails it. Katherine McPhee’s live performance is also stunning. It’s great to be able to have choices isn’t it.
Jennifer, I watched this reaction again and caught something that nearly every reactor does. At the beginning and after just a few words (only 2 here) the person utters "Wow!". It's amazing how many do that with Lucy's voice and videos. And I agree. WOW!
by the end of the 1st verse it should be cristal clear to anyone that is gonna be great. There is so much warmth in those notes it touches and opens the soul. It's the same to me when I hear Hilary Hahn play the violin. It doe snot matter what they are singing/playing: that sound is a gift from God they are sharing with us
Jimivison wrote ,already, a lot of information about Lucy. I would like to add , she was 17 when she did this video. She is now 19 and her voice improve even more. Her RU-vid channel is reaching 150 millions views , so she is a lot of more than good. Listen to any of her songs ( covers or originals) you will understand. As a singer she is at a completely other level than Katherine.

A year or so ago I discovered Lucy Thomas and OVER THE RAINBOW, never heard of her but knew the son , Lucy's was a cover of Eva Cassidy's version, never heard of her either but being old I knew Judy Garlands version so I went and compare many versions, Evas first, and this girls also showed up, I listened to about a dozen versions and Lucy CRUSHED them all !!! Lucy is such a technical beautiful singer with reach without the Screech and a range and depth I have never heard. When Lucy dod Over the rainbow she was 17 years old, she is now 19, Lucy owned this version. Katherines version had too many physical and vocal gymnastics . too distracting. Lucy by a mile. I have also never heard of you and now that you have discovered Lucy I suggest you check out her over 60 songs and 4 CD's that she sings, and also her younger sister Martha who first recorded with Lucy at 10, yes 10 is no almost 14 and is a beautiful singer also. try When you believe, The Prayer, the Climb You raise me up and Smile where their mother Louise joins them for a special mothers day celebration. Mar 21in UK they are British. Yes their mother sings also. Also check out Lucys EVERGREEN, just released, BRAND NEW DAY GREATEST LOVE OF ALL, HALLELUJAH, THE WAY WE WERE MEMORIES and her originals for ROSIE BROKEN DREAMS...STARLIGT...SUDDENLY...GENTLE BREEZE. ONE DAY You will not be sorry. Lucy is the best singer this old man has ever heard and Martha is right behind her, Thanks for the react !!!

Kat's version was 'too busy' (voice and backing track) for my taste. Lucy has been and still is my favorite. Her voice is outstanding as well as her vibrato. The very last word is beautifully stretched from a long note then vibrato then smoothed out to the note again, and all perfectly right on key. I also heard what appeared to be a couple of off-ley notes by Kat but I've never heard Lucy sing a note that's not right on key (on any of her renditions). BTW, Lucy is a Brit.

Sounds like she is doing the version of Eva Cassidy..... which is amazing.... Too bad Eva died so young... I have to say the first time I heard Kathryn McPhee sing this, I actually teared up.... She has a great voice.....This song has meant so much to me since I sang this in High school. I traveled and sang from about 12 until I got married at 18, then I only sang professionally for weddings, special appointments, funerals, etc Then years later I came across this 14 year old girl, Lucy Thomas singing "La Vie En Rose". I just about fell out of my chair.... She has the ultimate voice. the clarity of her voice, there is none more clear...the sound is truly amazing...the way she says her words, where she takes a breath, her range, low notes to high notes, she actually takes you on a short trip with her voice.... Some people have good, even great voices...Lucy's voice is God given...To me there is no other voice like hers. I know that is my opinion, but she will blow you away every song she sings....My favorite right now...... "Evergreen"... I sang that also in high school. The song/ movie " A star is born" had just come out and was making a sensation in 1976 (I am old now, but still sing a little..😊..... I was in love with the song then and still do.
As I mentioned in my other comment I have more Lucy reactions (Including "Evergreen", which BLEW ME AWAY) on my main RU-vid channel, "The Speak Easy Lounge". Cheers!
Lucy's cover of Hallelujah has been used in the Dennis Quaid film On a wing and a prayer, chosen above Pentatonix's cover of it. She recently released a song called Brand New Day which is a theme song for an upcoming TV show. Songs you might like to check out are her covers of Aerosmiths I don't want to miss a thing and Etta James's classic At Last. She also has some amazing duets with younger Sister Martha youmight want to take a look at.

Lucy is English hence the accent. Lucy has a phenomenal voice. She has been singing since she was 7 years old At 13 she was introduced to Chris Broom an Award winning songwriter and Record company owner. Chris said he was so impressed with her he believed that she had the potential to become one of the greatest vocalists of all time. she has the rare ability to bring the audience into the song. Lucy was a semi finalist on the voice Kids UK. After which Chris offered her a record contract. She has released 4 albums to date and is working on a 5th.Lucy is still with Chris today. Chris began writing a musical For Lucy to star in ,It opens in London´s West end next year the opening has been held up due to Lucy being still at school and unable to work on it until now. She has pre released a number of songs from it eg."Starlight" "Suddenly", Gentle Breeze " Broken Dreams" The Musical is called "Rosie" and is the true story of a convent girl who went London in the Edwardian era became an actress and eventually married into the British Aristocracy against the wishes of the King. Lucy has covered all of the great iconic singers and made the songs her own. The song you just listened to the Eva Cassidy version has over 1 million views on RU-vid. I will say, these are two wonderful singers and it would be hard to compare the two. Also, these are two of the prettiest female singers I've ever laid eyes on and then you add their angelic voices, a combination that would be hard to beat. (Gosh I miss being young and pretty myself but we all have our time for youth and then it passes way too quickly and after watching these two beautiful women I was just struck with that reality once again, it's called life.) As you just reviewed the other day, Eva Cassidy does it best, bring tears to my eyes still and that what makes a her such a great wonderful singer, when you have the ability to move people emotionally on that level, a true gift!
She speaks very English and sings very American. I believe she comes from Whales or there about. Sort of incomparable but they are both gorgeous. Lucy’s voice is much smoother and richer and a little fuller. I did love Katharine in the show Scorpion. She is a really good actress. Both:👍🌹❤️
I do not understand What you mean by sings very American I don't ´hear any American accent she speaks with a Lancastrian accent and sings with a British RP accent. she enunciates every word perfectly.
Katherine not bad but a little too much vocal acrobatics for my liking, lacks the smoothness the purity and beauty of Lucy's tone and not as much emotional depth. Lucy's voice is so beautiful it can make me cry
Admknight, My thought exactly with Katherine, too many vocal gymnastics, just to be different. That seems very prevelent in modern music when people really can't sing !!! A diversion !!!
@@wilburfinnigan2142 I think it's more of a case that they can sing but feel they need to oversell a song and show off. It ends up just sounding pretentious and not very authentic.
Thanks, Ray! I watched her on American Idol and really loved her voice! She did a version of "Black Horse & a Cherry Tree" on AI and it was Excellent too!
Congratulations ! You are listening to the hottest talent in the World. No I’ve nothing to do with promoting Lucy, only to say I first heard her about 6-8 months ago n WOW!, I was blown away. This girl has everything going for her. She has the looks n voice of an Angel. Can I please ask you to review her rendition of the Barbara Streisand song “ EVERGREEN “. That song has now become my favourite n yet I didn’t think much of it until I heard Lucy sing it. Since then I became hooked on Lucy’s music. The thing is she can take a song n turn it into a Golden hit. She covers many decades n just nails it . Re Kathryn McPhee, yes a different take on that song but I still prefer Lucy’s. Thanks for the review 👌😊

Lucy has a perfect tone and in all her songs and covers there is beauty, any will not disappoint. Loved 2nd version, very different also did you hear Carly rose sonenclar on AGT a few years back do a version as well, that was gorgeous too.
Good day to ya (again) - evidently my previous post didn't pass the legality test. I sent you URLs of several of Lucy's videos and I don't see them anymore. So, I guess you will just have to go to Lucy Thomas Music channel and look for yourself. Lucy has over 50 videos - each of which is either an original or a cover. Lucy has covered most of the best vocalists (in many people's opinions) and performed their songs better than the originals. Even if you do not react to them - please watch and listen to her videos and you will not be disappointed in fact you will be blown away by this incredible young lady. I posted the URL to Hallelujah, Evergreen, The Prayer (duet with sister Martha), and Broken Dreams (from the musical Rosie). Please visit the Lucy Thomas Music channel.
This song was a Judy Garland song from the movie The Wizard of Oz in 1939. This song has been covered by a ton of people in the last 85 years. Eva's cover was lovely, but hardly original. I adore Katharine's version as well. I think it's important to acknowledge the original artist, if for nothing other than the music history involved.
Dear Ma'am Jennifer, Both versions are excellent but I have to give the nod to Katherine Mcphee because she sang it before a live audience including the judges of the American Idol, so you can just imagine the pressure. Also, the twist she did with the song was beautiful.

The Girl is fantastic !!!
Well, this Katherine Mcphee is kind of new to me becaouse what I know of this version is Eva Cassidy and I loved it. I hate to compare between the two who is better. Lucy has the voices of an angel and the best vocalist and the most beautiful voices I have ever hear.
@REACTIONDIARIES What people like and enjoy is personal choice. Some are just listeners as I am, while others merit on technical and vocal ability. Lucy Thomas is both the remarkable and superb singer, and if you haven’t listened her numerous other song which are mostly covers, then you really should. Lucy sings better than the biggest original artists, and you are seriously missing out! I’m a Lucy supporter but I’m not a fan of this song. The other artist Katherine Mcphee did a more familiar version which I preferred, and Katherine also appears very talented however I’ll stick with Lucy. 🥰 As for Lucy recommendations for you to react to, best you look her channel and see what catches you. Watching this again it seem like you are just trying to justify another singer, after listening to Lucy, and I find this "strange" to say the least. Almost like you want to brush off Lucy perfect version. I grew up with Judy garland version, discovered Lucys version and compared it to a dozen or so other version and Lucy clearly out sang them all !!!! I find your "reaction" strange indeed, just accept Lucy's version and move on, it is what it is, and I encourage you to explore more of Lucy's songs with an open mind !!!
Good point. It wouldn't hurt to watch it again. Lucy is great, and I have done another reaction that I just uploaded, so I was able to get a better sense of her vocal talent. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate your insight. Cheers!
@@REACTIONDIARIES Yes you can, but that is the problem with putting up more than one version and inviting comparison! There will always be those who present their personal view as dogmatic fact - and are intolerant of other people's opinions! Sadly, the way of the world!
