Gonna get me a case of beer after work, go home and drink while listening to some Lynyrd Skynyrd tonight. You're all asked to join me in toasting the last of the original members of possibly the most talented rock band to entertain us over the years. Bottoms up. RIP Gary.
I appreciate this service that you provide. The narrator’s voice is empathetic and comforting. What a wonderful way to pay tribute those who’ve contributed to our society and culture. Thank you.
I loved TOPOL in Fiddler on the Roof. We saw the private showing of the movie during our honeymoon as part of a wedding gift from the production company distributing the movie 🎥 🙏🏻 Great actor and great song interpreter. ❤️🙏🏻
Born 1945 in Southern California. I had the opportunity to see many actors and various other celebrities up close and fairly personal. To see them pass away each year gives me sense of loss and realize my own mortality.
Yes, indeed. I'm also from So Cal. Visited L.A. often. Saw famous people pretty much every time, just doing everyday things. I never saw Robert Blake in person, but I remember being so happy when he won his Emmy for 'Barretta'. Loved that show as a kid. Sad to see the trajectory his life took later on. Best wishes to you.
I was born in 1959, and tho I never met many stars up close & personal, I've had the pleasure to see many actors, from both old Hollywood & contemporary Hollywood. Of course I liked the older ones far better, but we do have some very good ones from my generation, too. It's so sad that so many are leaving us now, and it makes me think abt my own mortality, also. I mean, it seems as tho one minute, I was watching Baretta, on Wednesday night @ 9pm, and now I'm in my early 60s, and there's mostly junk, in the movies & the small screen. RIP to all mentioned, this week.🕊🕊🕊🙏🏽
I'm not from So Cal, but what strikes me is to hear the ages of stars like Ed McMahon he'd be 100 if living, yet was dark haired in my youth! And then to see how many musicians died so young. It is amazing how lives overlap without us realizing the vast age differences while alive. RIP.
R.I.P. to all of you who I grew up with. Robert, keep your eye on the sparrow. Gary, you're free as a bird now. And to the Japanese General, thank you for showing the true meaning of forgiveness. And thank you Legacy, for another informative, yet bittersweet video.
Thank you for honoring the anniversary of Divine's passing. If everyone was as respectful and kind as you seem to be, the world would be a much better place.
I don't know what it was about Tom Sizemore, but I liked him as a character actor. He was good. Sorry to hear about his passing. RIP Tom, you were unforgettable.
Thank you for your beautiful tributes and half-staff memorials. Your website is so wonderful! May they RIP 🙏 🪦. Lifting prayers and condolences for their loved ones 🙏. God Bless You and stay safe
I’m so sorry to hear of Tom Sizemore. He was an incredible Actor and brought his characters to life. You’d believe he really was those characters. Tom was one of those Actors that if in a movie would be that deciding factor to watch it. I hope that made sense. To his family, I’m so deeply sorry for their loss. He will be missed. He seemed like such a genuine good Man
So many stars that I grew up watching into my adulthood on black and whiteTVs. Topol and Robert Blake(real name Mickey Goobatossi) being 2 of so much talents the world will always remember; "In Cold Blood" being 1 of my favorite films. "If I Were a Rich Man"; one of my favorite performances. RIP to all. Condolences to the families.
@@ligeiasinistra879 I’m no expert, but Blake’s father’s birth name was Giacomo and his mother was Elizabeth Carfone, so Italian looks like the safer bet.
Sad news today to lose Robert Blake. I enjoyed watching him in "Baretta". I'm sorry life was difficult for him in his older years. RIP to all in this video. Thank you.
Robert Blake...that's a name to bring old memories! The controversies of his later years might overshadow the fact that this man was a top class actor. For me Robert Blake's best performance was in the western 'Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here' where he starred alongside Robert Redford. Blake was excellent as the fugitive Indian being chased by (sheriff) Redford and the whole movie was beautifully shot with top class performances all round. But it was not a financial success and to this day it receives negative notices from the critics...but what do they know?
Wow, so many greats died this week. May they ALL rest in Peace. Robert Blake had a lot of sadness and emotional torment going back to his childhood, I pray he finds the peace he truly deserves God Bless!!.
How Rossington's passing slipped by me, I'll never know... One of the absolute weirdest things to ever happen to me was literally hearing Lynyrd Skynyrd play LIVE, yes LIVE... YES LIVE, you read that correctly, outside my BEDROOM WINDOW. 😎 They played in the town square of Lewisville, Texas a few years back, 1 block from my house. It was Rossington, along with the rest of what was called Skynyrd at the time. I walked over and watched them play, ending of course with Free Bird... Good times. But time stops for no one. So live life to the fullest NOW, and pour one out for Gary and the greatest Southern Rock Band ever.
@@johncitizen3927 he did not ...he was let go because she was a con artist..she had played many men and married them for money..which he didn't know when he we'd her..and she was pregnant by him and he honorably gave the baby his last name. When one of her previous husband's or boyfriends found out about her and Robert Blake..that person caught up with her outside a restaurant when Blake had went back inside he had forgotten something and that previous boyfriend or ex-husband or something killed Bonnie Blake and fled. That came up as the truth during the final trial..and that is why Blake was acquitted..found not guilty because it was proved that he did not kill his wife. She was dirty and a con artist and it caught up with her..but not by him.
@@dalegribble49 I still think Blake was set up. He got mixed up with the wrong woman who had her fair share of enemies. She was not a nice person from my understanding. Guessing someone took her out and pinned it on Blake to keep the heat of him or her.
@@kevinmalone3210 California has one of the three biggest prison systems in the nation. They've been under direct federal supervision since 2008 for being over 220% over capacity. They were ordered to bring their population down to 100, 000 inmates, a number that hasn't been that low since the early nineties. They still haven't been able to bring the numbers down to that level in 15 years. Don't speak on things that you actually know nothing about. Just because you watch videos and read comments on RU-vid doesn't mean that you know what's going on. Especially if you don't live there.
I was very lucky to see Joe Bonamassa with Michael Rhodes on bass a couple of years ago at the Hampton Beach Casino in New Hampshire. As a bass player myself I really appreciated Michael's great skill and tasteful playing, he was an incredible musician. I'm sure Joe will miss his talented friend.
Yep, this past week's been a big one for celebrity deaths. Several years back after David Bowie and Lemmy died within the same month I told a friend of mine that grew up in the 70's with me that all the iconic entertainers and rock stars we grew up with in the 70's were going to start going left and right from that point on simply based on they're all getting to that age, and I was right, ever since then they've been going one after the other, it'll be the stars our age and his and my turns after that, another 20 years and it'll be people like Andrew McCarthy, Matt Dillon and Demi Moore going.
Got to see David Lindley at the Raven Theatre in Healdsburg California and partied backstage with him. We drank local beer and smoked some fine grade grass. That was damn near 20 years ago. What a show that was. I’ll never forget it. RIP David.
RIP Topol. I loved him in Fiddler On The Roof. I appreciate you listing these. The news usually only shows the most well known and even then it's easy to miss. I watch a lot of classic tv and like to keep updated.
Robert Blake and his co-star of "In Cold Blood", Scott Wilson, gave the best performance by an actor the year the movie came out. They closely resembled the killers. In the movie, Blake talked about the 1940s movie, "The Treasure of Sierra Madre", a movie he had a prominent part in as Bobby Blake.
He was just a little kid in that movie. He kept pestering Humphrey Bogart to buy a lottery ticket, and Bogart became so annoyed, he threw a glass of water in his face.
I was born in Wichita when I was 9 years old my grandmother and I went out to the Clutter house in Holcomb Kansas... my mother also met and went out a couple of times with Scott Wilson... he came over to her home one time.... and I absolutely agree with you it is such a tragic story but such a great performance the family never photography is also amazing
That was a riveting movie. Extremely well done, as it followed the real events and didn't go off on its own, mixing fiction with the real story. Robert was excellent in this movie.
I was fortunate enough to enjoy these memories until I grew up and saw my memories leaving me. I might not know a few of them but glad it got me through tough times. Until we meet again
That book and movie were my introduction to true crime viewing. Truman Capote was the first to successfully write about a true case in novel format. Norman Mailer did the same with "Executioner's Song", the Gary Gilmore story. That was also made into a great flick with Tommy Lee Jones as Gary. In Cold Blood was the 1st story to scare me.
I hope former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver, Otis Taylor, is included in your next video. He passed away yesterday at the age of 80. Along with his Hall of Fame quarterback, Len Dawson, who also passed away just 7 months ago, he was part of the foundation of the entire Chiefs franchise, helping them pull off a shocking upset of the heavily-favored Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV after the 1969 season.
I was sad to hear about Tom Sizemore and Robert Blake. They were great actors. I grew up watching Barretta. They will both be missed. May all of these people rest in peace and condolences to their families and friends 🙏🏽
Sheila Riley..he was found innocent..and justly so..his wife was a con artist who bilked men for money..and one of her past lover that she fleeced out of money caught up with her..and killed her..that was proven and that why it was proven he didn't kill his wife. I never believed he did that either.
But he did though. You don't think it was suspicious that he parked in a dark alley away from everyone else, left his gun in a restaurant, go back to get it, returns back to vehicle and his wife is dead? He set her up. Actors, musicians, good guys and good girls can also be murderers too. I was a fan of his. I grew up in the 70s/80s watching Our Gang on Saturdays and Baretta but hey I felt he paid someone to take his wife out.
Sorry to hear about Ted Donalson. I am sure he was the last serviving main cast member of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. He ended the movie with a line to Peggy Ann Gardner who said he was sweet. He answered :Ah cut out the mush!
olivia is my childhood, rip ian falconer also im currently watching an israeli version of fiddler on the roof in hebrew class, rip Topol, may ur memory be a blessing
RIP TOPOL. I am especially sad to hear of the death of this fine man. In 2009, while I was living in Ft. Lauderdale, a theater there was putting on “Fiddler,” and I remember seeing signs advertising it with its original star “TOPOL.” I wish I would have gone to it. Turner is actually airing “Fiddler” right now, as I write this. Rest in peace ‘Tevya.’ And RIP to all of them, with love and prayers to all those mourning a loss.
My people,Baby Boomers, leaving daily…..greatest generation ever living the free life is ending. Thankyou to our parents’s generation world wide for making love not war after WW2 .
Greatest Generation ever? Really? At what, stealing their children’s future. Eating the American Pie and leaving nothing but a few crumbs for the next generation? Destroying the foundation of the Family?
I agree! We were blessed that our parents were The Greatest Generation! We were a massive generation and we overwhelmed the World and left our mark on history. Now we are gracefully exiting the stage, leaving the next generations in charge. Proud to be a Boomer. We had it all!
