I had it the opposite way I went to the equivalent of dmv in my country, and they needed me to send in a document. The *only* way they accepted it was via fax I actually had to go to a library, hoping that the fax machine i saw there 3 years ago is still there. I was lucky it did, beacuse i dont know any other fax machines...

That's actually a real thing, I normally have to spell Ben out, because a majority of the time it gets quoted back to me as Dan... Ben is not a common name and if you have the slightest accent the nearest sounding name is Dan. So that's one of the most realistic things in the skit! Lol

If most of the things that happen in this video happened in real life at the place I work, I wouldn't work there anymore. I'm surprised nobody has tried just leaving. Like, sure, giving Rowan a notice of you leaving doesn't work because he won't validate it, but, like...just leave, and don't come back. Chances are Rowan would forget to stop paying you and you could just get that free pay check on top of your new job's pay.

You know fax isn't really safer than unencrypted email, right? It's just a tiny bit more inconvenient to manipulate, as more and more people get rid of it.

Ahhh, fax is even less secure than email. I'm a computer security expert... faxes were not made taking into account current decryption capabilities. None, in fact.

@@cancerino666 hey, don't look at me, I'm not our IT department. We're only allowed to transmit patient information over fax. I assumed because fax is basically peer to peer and email goes through other people's servers, but again, I'm not the IT department. They did specifically say that email wasn't secure enough.

I'm 28, am well aware that I am responding to a 6 month old comment, and.. have a 1 year old fax machine (multifunction office printer). I mean, I haven't sent or received one since I was a kid with the family fax, but it's there. It was always fun when the internet cut out in the middle of Neopets, followed by the phone ringing.. So I'd quickly go answer it and be met with random tonal screeching, where I'd then have to hang up and run to the fax machine to press receive. Rather than just one day not using faxes anymore, someone smart should have integrated them into emails. A company could then register their 'fax' number as normal, but anything sent to it would arrive in their email inbox like a scanned document. And then any email sent to a fax address would go through and print out as normal. We'd still be where we are today with them being phased out, but it would have been so much easier for the older people that relied on it.

I tried to translate it, but those beeps doesn't translate to anything coherent unfortunately 😔 Would've been a fun bit if they had been trashtalking Alan.

Morse code isnt that hard, it's as any digital language. Problem is, you got to decode it, so you have to note up the value, and then later figure out what it means. Like math. Same with a digital signal, or do you know what 10110110001100111 means without using math?
