DM me on Instagram @emzoticofficial if you have any Craigslist ads for me to react to! PS: I have some new links in my description box, including my top, my book, and my ferret and reptile enclosures! I hope you enjoy browsing, and I hope you enjoy this video! 🌻
Hello! I hope you're having a great day! The Ball Python morph is a Calibee I believe. Calibees consits of three genes: Pastel, Calico, and Spider. I have not seen them have neuroligical issues, but I'm sure they do because they contain the spider gene.
The first story is a perfect example of why you should never give animals as gifts to someone. The owner though not ill-intentioned was clearly unprepared and I assume a bit clueless about raising the doves.
Honestly that daughter should've done research about how to take care of the doves before gifting. Ofc telling her mother what she learnt. It would solve the problem that arose easily.
When you talked about ferrets being poorly bred and vastly inbred and coming with a lot of diseases I was like "wow, that sounds like the same we deal with in the aquarium hobby". I own 2 guppy tanks and disease is something we have to always keep in mind in this hobby.
Please keep spreading this information around. I'm seeing koi, goldfish and barbs in aquariums which look off more often these days in pet shops. It depresses me to know that the next generation if fish keepers would think that is what a "healthy" fish would look like.
you are 100% correct- we have one that looks exactly like that and is a bumblebee. Thank goodness, ours doesn't have any visible wobble or anything, and has eaten well since we got him 4 years ago :)
I can attest to the peacocks because even though I live in the countryside, and my neighbors are a good distance away, I can still hear their peacocks when I go outside. I can’t imagine being right next door to them.
@@Emzotic I can’t even begin to explain how bad I feel for those people’s neighbors! Peafowl are so loud, and it’s like keeping a siren in an apartment.
@@ParkerPeachesAnthemLights14 Did you know,Apparently one of my uncles i think?Heard a peafowl in the night,Thinking it was A woman screaming,He rushed to the peafowl and saw 2 peafowls mating.
Hey Em, I just wanted you to know that my 4 year old nephew and I watch you together a lot even though I'm strict about what we watch during screen time. He pretends that he has two ferrets named Doby and Niffler who he pretends go on his shoulders around the house/neighborhood with us, and tells me about how he imagines them playing. I just wanted to share that joy you bring us with you!
Hey Em, this video has made my day so thank you so much for uploading!! Im currently dealing with my 3rd cold of the year. Thank you for continuously inspiring and teaching me about the pet community 💖
We had peacocks in our neighborhood years back. They're worse than roosters, we've had those too, don't know what happened to them but I'm glad they're gone. The only bird more annoying than either peacock or rooster was that pain in the rear woodpecker who would hammer away on my gutter's downspout, at dawn, just feet from my bedroom window. Talk about noise!
Woodpeckers, sapsuckers, and flickers include drumming as part of their mating calls so seek out the most resonant thing to drum on: hollow logs, aluminum siding and gutters, etc. Possibly the weirdest noise I've ever heard was a sapsucker drumming on an old TV antenna attached to the chimney of a house I had. Inside, the sound coming out of the fireplace was utterly alien. I have a neighbor who frequently calls the sheriffs about someone banging on his house....the cops haven't caught the peckerhead in the act yet, so he keeps calling. 😆
I got so much hate when I had to rehome my dog I had for years because of developing a severe allergy. I am a severe asthmatic and I almost died from an episode of status asthmaticus triggered by that allergy. I tried everything including allergy shots but nothing worked. I was completely heartbroken. I can never own a dog again, I developed an allergy to their fur, dander and saliva. So now I'm a reptile keeper.
Hey Em!! I’d love to see more videos talking about the Eurasier. The breed history, personality traits etc. I’m super interested in them and hope to get one in the future but there honestly isn’t that much RU-vid content about Eurasiers. Other ideas could be how much Keiba costs you monthly/yearly, his daily routine and what type of person it would take to own a Eurasier.
When you did your imitation of a peacock, it hit me how much I associate that sound with being at the zoo (I've been to several zoos, but Philly most often and they have peacocks that chill about).
So true about people taking advantage of the ferret shortage 😅 A friend just rehomed their ferret to me about a month ago, and trying to find him a companion has been near impossible. People are setting rehoming fees of 400-600 for one (1!) single ferret, it’s so frustrating. My only hope now is that one will show up on pf (since shelters here usually only ask about 75 for ferrets) but so far there hasn’t been a single one :,)
@@Emzotic That’s the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning 😂 So far no luck, but i’m definitely going to keep checking :)! There’s bound to be a weasel on there eventually (I hope!)
That is crazy! When I bought my ferret he was $180. I had to rehome him because my husband was having a transplant and no animals for 6 months post op. I found a lady who had ferrets who would find new homes for them. She fell in love with him and kept him along with 2 other ferrets. He loved the ferrets but he would nap on top of their dog. I gave them everything and did not charge a penny. I just wanted him to go to a good home with more ferets.
Update: My search has concluded! I checked PF yesterday morning and saw that there was a baby ferret at my local shelter. I immediately applied, and was able to pick her up about an hour ago! She’s exactly what i’ve been looking for, i’m so happy 😭🥰 Can’t wait until she and my current boy meet, i’m so glad that he’s finally going to have a friend ❤️
For the ball python, I think it’s the same 40gal breeder I have for my beardie (yes I intend to upgrade over time) but the thing that makes me see these people are more stupid is the sliding top of the enclosure. The middle part is wider because there is an extra lip, so when you slide the other side over it, the snake can’t push the enclosure open from the inside and escape. But in this ad the top piece is upside down… meaning the whole anti-escape thing can go right in the trash😂
I feel so much for people having to rehome pets because they randomly got allergies 😭 That is so awful and there's really nothing they can do to prevent it.
Hey Em- Thank you for sharing another thorough and amazing video, as always! I love how informative you are in segments like these because it spreads awareness to pet owners and people who will potentially receive the animals being advertised. In my opinion, it’s a great non-critical approach in more so providing a reality check for owners who could do some shaping up. Aside from various life circumstances, there are many people who aren’t prepared or knowing of the effort and responsibilities entailed when taking on particular pets… especially exotics. As animal lovers and enthusiasts, we’d love to all think that pet owners would seek resources or assistance, when things like you’ve described get beyond their control. That’s why it’s awesome that we have someone like you that follows up with the solicited adverts, provides pet solutions, and indicates what’s conducive to their proper living environment. Very informative and educational. Very excited for your upcoming latest and greatest content. ❤️ ~ Matt (“The Pet Guardian”)
The opening to this video? Relatable. Though for me, it's with rats. I have a boy that still has that "new rat smell" so every once in a while I'll take him out and sniff him as if he's a fresh warm loaf of bread.
Looks to be some sort of bumblebee morph, they do have the spider gene and wobble... They're beautiful regardless... I would say get it! You're amazing and I think you could give him an amazing home!
The sad thing is that the recently there was a caiman that was recently caught in a pond in Denver. She was just a pet that someone just released into a pond. They named her Ms. Bo Mangles
Oh those doves 🕊 😍. Love all doves. I've always dreamed of having diamond doves. I've always liked ferrets coming into practice but never appreciated them fully. Seeing yours run and play with you made me see how brilliant they are. ❤️ It's insane how easy it is to get some reptiles in the US. 😳Caiman shouldn't be kept as pets. A specialist facility is one thing. But not in homes. 🙄Poor little thing 😢 We recently had moggie cats brought in and the owner had paid £250 for each of them 🙀. I was like wow! You gots ripped off. I paid for my Ragdolls because they are my guilty pleasure but they're kept inside because they're not the brightest. But mostly I've rescued moggies for £0 because they're is so many needing homes. 💜
hi Em! a great example of a wellbred french bulldog would be this year’s westminster reserve winner, GCHP CH Fox Canyon's I Won The War At Goldshield CGCA CGCU TKN (Winston I believe is his call name.) He still fits the conformation (show) standard while being properly health tested, OFA’d, and able to breathe! It’s really all about the nares! 😁 love a wellbred frenchie like Winston!
It’s fun watching you react to vids. I don’t remember the name of the channel on RU-vid but there’s a bearded dragon vid I saw years ago of a beardie named Steven getting fed random feeders like a toad or grasshopper or a baby crested gecko and etc i use to think they were funny but now I know it might not be. If your able to find the channel you should react to that next. Try typing “Steven the bearded dragon eating a toad” as a example
Hi Em, your the first person to ever see my comments, and it makes me so happy. I love your channel, and your pets ( especially the ferrets 😊 ) Piebald is also my favorite morph of ball pythons. Love you Em, I'm looking forward to watching more content from you! ❤️
Can you do a feeding video you haven't done one in so long and your my favorite RU-vidr and you haven't posted in a while and I want to know what you feed your pets
Hope your doing well Emzotic, you haven’t posted in 10 months. I see your active on Instagram, I guess RU-vid can be rather difficult to post on and it must take hours to edit videos, which can be time consuming for an animal owner.
I think I have you beat on the saddest bp enclosure… my most recent rescue had cedar bedding, a heat rock, an empty water bowl, and a stick which he used to cram himself in between the frame and the screen for any kind of security. No hides, pieces of shed everywhere, and cigarette residue as well. He has a vet visit today to definitively rule out an RI but other than stuck shed, spinal scarring from being fed live, and missing the very tip of his tail he seems to be in great shape. He even ate frozen thawed for the first time after only being with me for three days (I normally wouldn’t offer so soon but I thought I’d try as it was feeding day for everyone else). Now even in his bare bones quarantine enclosure he seems much more confident, he enjoys his three tight hides and even pops his head out to say hi whenever I open his enclosure.
Semi unrelated but every time I see a breed cat for sale (not adoption) I want to bang my head against a wall. Rescue cats are so abundant that there is no excuse for buying an expensive breed and denying a rescue a new chance at life.
I LOVE ferrets! And I really really really wish I could have some.... but I cannot handle the stinkyness of the otherwise adorable naughty noodles! 😅🥺😅
This video is basically Em just smelling the ferrets (it is so adorable honestly). But like, with breed specific problems regarding dogs, it is so important to find good breeders when it comes to kennels. Kennels will not breed dogs with certain problems- (and obviously, puppy mills are awful)
Love the video! Helps people know what to look out for when looking at ads. I do the same all the time I haven’t actually got anything from Craigslist yet lol but I’m sure one day I will some really tug on my heart! You are amazing!
My brother and his family live in Souris, Manitoba. The entire town has free-roaming peacocks. They get shut up for the winter and released in the spring.
I came across your xhannel from watching Clint's reptiles, and i have to say first that you are a truly beautiful woman, and thank you for explaining the life and ownership of ferrets!!!!
the frenchies person probably put as little information as possible so they wouldn't be flagged because craigslist specifically says no breeders and only small rehoming fees. so their posts get flagged and taken down a lot. not that i'm defending them but that might be why there were no pictures of the parents and v little information.
Hi Em, the Netherlands are changing up some animals that can me kept as pets from 2024. Hedgehogs, Russian hamsters, Serval cats, chinchilla's and meerkats are off the list. They may be kept until they die for the people that own them now. I think thats good and think even more animals should be off the allowed list. But now i was wondering what pets you think shouldn't be allowed as pets anymore? Because of their care requirements for example.
As a head's up, the 'rock' that you were talking about in the ball python's enclosure? That's actually a rock-shaped hide! You could see the entrance to the hide on the right side! As for the morph, all I can tell is that it definitely has spider in it!
I really feel for the kitties ❤️ but I agree the owners seem very caring and responsible and they'll find good homes for them. it would be nice if they can find a new loving home without a trip to the shelter ❤️
Exactly. As a kid, i never thought twice about people treating their animals, cuz well.....i didn't know better then! Now that I'm an adult, and have learned about proper husbandry, I'll never stop judging in my head when i see something VERY off about the treatment of anyones animals. I'll never be at peace....
This is unrelated but i still have to ask, I got my first female 6 months ago who is now 7 months, 6 hours ago we got a male fixed ferret. But our female keeps running away and avoids eye contact and contact at all. I have been with them when they are around and he hasn’t done anything bad that made act like this! But when i walked in my room my dad was bleeding turns out the male bit him if you could give us any feedback about this? Also the male is super nice and even licked my feet so if you would give us any feedback about what you know or anyone in general even?
CO is weird about the hognoses and i feel for the folks that are deprived of them. I love my hognose such character and sass from the little man! The caiman isting would have had me in tears. I live in NM near the TX border. You can buy Caimans at two different pet shops in El Paso for just under $300. I would have sent him links to the shops. Their caimans are actually healthy and well cared for. And one of the shops is particularly good about making sure you are educated about your pet and know what you need for the animal's wellbeing. I've heard them politely redirect people to animals that are more in their skill/price of care range before. And always in a manner that isn't offensive.
A pair of peafowl used to show up on the conservatory roof of our family home several years ago. My mother has always been an avid bird feeder, so perhaps that attracted them, but periodically there they'd be in the garden, and they'd always end up on the conservatory roof at some point. Never figured out where they came from... I love their calls, though. I must be in the minority.
I was able to adapt to my own dog's pet dander and he doesn't make me sneeze or scratch as much anymore if at all. But other dogs? The welts begin to grow and the sneezes rise from the depths of my very soul. It's not as bad as it use to be before my lovely Archie. So at least something came out of it haha.
My grandfather lives next to peacocks and roosters (I don’t know if the neighbor has roosters anymore) but unpopular opinion I don’t mind the sound at all and they’re surprisingly quiet, but this is out on a farm and sound does carry out there but I couldn’t imagine moving into a city home and finding peacocks. If I ever did I’d befriend those neighbours quick to say hi to the birds constantly 😂
I'm in Greeley (Hour north of Denver). All of Colorado seems to have the issues of being super animal friendly but only to the furry ones. I've seen some atrocious care from pet shops in the area as well.
I like to scroll craigslist but I always get super heated about all the exotics!! I can't take any new animals at the moment but a long term goal of mine would be to work with a rescue that's doing good work or somehow open my own!
Hey Em, love your videos. That bp definitely has the spider gene. Gorgeous but unfortunately can come with wobble. My ball python is a Clown Pastel Enchi (absolutely no spider and from a very reputable breeder) and I've noticed if he is particularly stressed (which I've only ever witnessed twice) he will go upside-down. Makes me wonder about some other gene combinations that aren't talked about.
I sadly had to rehome my ferret about 2-3 years ago and I still feel like I smell them sometimes 😂 probably just my mind playing tricks on me but they’re scent definitely lingers haha
The peacocks reminded me of when my mom and I lived within a mile of someone who kept guinea fowl XD They weren't loud, per se, but they were allowed to roam free and run amok. Don't know the average intelligence of the species, but these ones were not too bright. People had pockmarks on their car doors because the guineas would see their reflections and peck at them. They'd hold up traffic on the little two-lane country roads for ages until someone would blow their car's horn and scatter them. We never found out exactly who owned them before moving away, but I hope they've reigned them in by now.
I live in Florida and cocoa beach has a huge population of peacocks, they are so loud but beautiful to see on your way to the beaches. Im also not quite sure how they got there...
I hate all the "rehoming" listings I see. Its so clear most "rehomings" are backyard breeders selling puppies. I want to actually adopt an animal who NEEDS a new home.
It makes me so sad seeing all the animals needing homes on craigslist. If I were to bring an animal family member home from there I would only want to bring home older mammals as there seem to be so many backyard breeders on there. For reptiles/inverts I would feel more comfortable with getting them but I wouldn’t trust anyone with a rehousing fee that’s much higher than what they’re sold for on morph market.
