Finding lo-fi girl at age 42 was amazing. I listen to this on a regular basis. It's great for driving to work.

I subscribed to lofi 10 years ago when I was looking for something to study to in school and I love the feeling the music gives me and the places it took me. There’s a certain hope and visual beauty it gave me to keep going.

Before lofi girl there was this underground Japanese chill hop known as Seba Jun or Nujabes, he was the first in early internet ungrounded music history, he is the biggest name out there and also the influence of background music in a anime series called samurai champloo. then proceeding him he has predecessors there is Bob42jh a person that introduced many chillhop underground artists such ad Funky DL, Substantial, Cise Starr, Marcus D, Shing02, Panacea, CYNE, Thomas Prime, Catacombkid, Specifics, the 49ers, MYK & Shiroski, Witness, Think Twice, Re. Plus, Landon Wordswell, Ed Rowe, Shinsight trio, Pase rock, SoulChef, Thomax, incise, Trace Blam, CL Smooth, SK The novelist, MKV & Concept, I can literally go on and on. Bob42jh directly or indirectly made these underground artists well known in the early underground early 2000’s. If you like lofi hip hop and want to listen to metaphorical underground rappers they rap about meaningful poetry such as promoting motivation, reality, keeping it PG and more and not about money/women/narcotics then I hope you enjoy the recommendations I mentioned above. For me lofi girl is for whenever I just want to kick back and let my mind surf the ever wandering waves of my imagination or just something to fill in the background since the beats are nice to listen to and unlike most songs be it lyrical or even instrumental the music is just there where it’s not being blasted or too quiet that you can’t hear anything, it’s just there and it’s doesn’t feel intrusive where you can easily read a book whilst having it play in the background

This is lowkey one of the legendary youtube channel in history. This channel is not the most popular.Lofi is for me my little magical garden where i can relax, chill and let loose my imagination with a joint in my mouth.

"did they monetise it? ....no - they gave it away for free" 😂 They stoped promoting music they couldn't capitalize on, both on platforms like RU-vid and streaming services like Spotify/SoundCloud. They now only support music that yield direct profit. It's their choice, but they're essentially churning out formulaic beats and raking in vast sums from unsuspecting listeners!

I literally remember when Lofi Girl first started streaming back in 2018. I was a young teenager and super obsessed with lofi, so I'd listen to her stream all day while I studied. Pretty crazy to think that it's already been 5 years since she started streaming... I moved away from lofi music a year or two after she first began streaming, but I'll always hold a special place in my heart for this cute Lofi Girl, and how much her music helped me study as a kid!

I don't know what it is about lofi but it just makes me feel so relaxed, and time seems to pass without passing (if that makes sense.) I can spend hours reading while listening to it and it feels like I've only spent a few minutes.

I found lofi in a rough transition of moving from Florida to Alaska in the winter and was depressed every day. Something about Chilled Cow and Dreamwave and Chillhop put me in a better mental state.

Shoot, we have a problem. The sleep-version of this is no longer running, so I have to use this to sleep, which doesn’t work, as this doesn’t provide the calming sounds the last did. I am nearly to tears due to this, and I fear I won’t be able to sleep. I’m not trying to “cap”, but I still am having a hard time processing what is happening.
