Who is Hitogami? Mushoku Tensei Explained 

Yeah they made him look less like truth in the anime but he definitely looks like a pixelated version of Truth in other artwork. He's different, but the look of him may have been inspired by FMA, who knows?

The anime and manga version were probably inspired by FMA, whereas the novels just describe him as a faceless/featureless humanoid being with a wide smile.

The novels do describe him having the mosaic face, though, which isn't really done in the anime, and makes him sound less like Truth.

For those unfamiliar Yaldaboath is a false god (of certain religions) that pretends to be a true god in order to trick the worshippers of another god into harming themselves (sound familiar huh?) Edit: just to clarify when I say of certain religions I mean the concept itself is believed in certain religions not that certain religions believe in a false god.

I didn't know about Yaldaboath but that sounds very similar - could be the concept he was based on.

@@NatalieXHunter probably is Yaldaboath or sometimes known as Demiurge or Jaeldaboath is a really cool concept that hasn't really been touched on by too much media. Despite my dislike for the Hitogami I must admit his character is intellegent by design.

But you’re wrong. Its not Hitogami. Its something to do with people who Rudeus saved before dying. One thing you’re right, its about the timeline in the future.

After hearing what that was in the latest video. It does not necessarily clash with my theory. They could have still both happened due to knowing virtually nothing about Hitogami's powers. It's a case of knowing what happens and how it happens. Why it happens has room to be filled in and is probably intentionally left open for the story though. I doubt my theory is completely right. The only ones of mine that turn out to be right are ones I put a lot of thought into. I put very little into this one, but it's still based on suspicious openings in the story. I throw these out because they are fun though. It's hilarious when some of them turn out to be right. I like to open lines of thought that no one thinks about or even acknowledges sometimes. Since I've yet to find someone who sees the same kinds of things I do. I've seen people who know the lore far better than me. I've seen those who have a base understanding of it. I've seen those who misunderstand the lore completely but create new cool ideas from it. However, they are all not the same as my unique viewpoint. While there are probably thousands of others with their own unique viewpoint. None of them will come up with my unique viewpoint. I have a ridiculously open one that thinks about many different possibilities. I will still probably not think of all of theirs either. I simply apply the possibilities that make the most sense based on the authors writing style, but it's impossible to think up every single one.

Hitogami doesn't have a power to "summon" anyone. Even rudeus get reincarnated is because an accident.

@@muhammadsaduddin308 He's a god of the void. I would think he would have some level of ability to influence things aligned with the void. Things like Teleportation and World Traveling are not just things he should be able to do, but he may also be able to control the targets whenever it happens in the world as well. Things that coincidentally heavily align with every main arc in the entire story. That level of coincidence is impossible. It's definitely heavily related to whatever twist the author wants to do in the future, but it's far past the scope of predictability. We have far too little information about him to make any real predictions. I'm pretty sure he's probably more powerful than you would give him credit for. Otherwise, the alliance of every world wouldn't be trying to kill him. What we have is just the tip of the story, but there is a ton of information we simply don't know. We don't really know if Hitogami is the good guy or the bad guy in this story. We do know the people the story is told from generally hate him though. xD

What I applaud the author is that he doesn't make MT world to be Rudeus' personal sandbox.

It's like reading The Hobbit, when the actual battle is between Valar and Morgoth, but The Hobbit is just one tiny snapshot from that struggle, so tiny we could argue it is hardly significant in the grand scheme of things.

@@vogel2499 I'm on the fence about that. I think the opportunity is there to do it in a great way, but it's just not the path the author chose. Tons of people would love to go back to being a baby with all the knowledge they have from this life, let alone getting a whole new world with magic and whatnot to explore and create a new life in; just like a kid in a sandbox. I enjoyed that re:zero kinda shit on that idea though, for many reasons and I do still like the direction the author chose with MT.

I don't think that is possible, though it's cool to think about. Firstly, Old Dragon's Tale is set thousands of years before Mushoku Tensei, and the human god has already been replaced by Hitogami in that story. Early in Old Dragon's Tale, it mentions something being born in the void, which we can assume is Hitogami. The mass teleportation incident happens in order to fulfill the Miko's wish that she and Akihito can live and be together, and so, it intends to bring over Nanahoshi, his girlfriend, who 'shared her wish', so she can pave a way for him to survive. Rudeus comes through by accident because he's dead and in spirit form. The world resists Nanahoshi coming through at first, but once Rudeus has caused the path of the world to change a lot by changing the paths of Sylphy, Roxy and Eris, who all have strong fate, the world's resistance to the rift can no longer fight the strength of the Miko's wish, so Nanahoshi arrives and the mass teleportation incident happens. Now, the other boy wasn't part of the wish, and didn't die so couldn't have drifted through like Rudeus, so there is no reason he'd have been isekai'd anyway. But if he had, it wouldn't make much sense for him to have arrived before Rudeus was born. It would have made even less sense for him to have arrived thousands of years before Rudeus (or the Miko who made the wish, or even Orsted, who caused time to reset so this series of events could even happen), and in a different world to Nanahoshi and Akihito to boot... He was also shown to still be around in the human world after the accident. That was anime only, but probably only because the LNs are first person mostly, and Rudeus wouldn't have known about any of that. I don't think if there was anything planned for the third student in the story, that would have been shown - it is more a hint that the other two have disappeared (remember, most viewers won't know about Nanahoshi's identity until next season), but not him.

That means nanahoshi and her boyfriend disappeared, the other guy remains in Japan. Maybe Hitogami is actually nanahoshi in the future though. Maybe she became crazy eventually and turned into the man god.

Correct. The six faced world includes a human world, but that human world is the setting of Mushoku Tensei, not the 'real' world. Our world is separate and not one of the six.

Human world, dragon world, sea world, beast world, heaven world, demon world and void world in the center. But where do elf, dwarves and hobbit came from? My theory is that human world is originally elf, dwarves and hobbit world and they are the ancient race that mentioned creating magic 100k years before the story. But human came from the pararel universe that is our earth

I do where I can but it is not easy to find pictures of everything (Old Dragon's Tale is a web novel with no official artwork, for instance), so sometimes I have to use images or clips that are not entirely relevant to the exact thing I'm talking about.

That was just on this video - I used the same levels as always but I was using different music, and it seems like it was louder than my usual tracks. I noticed it too. I'll lower the volume if I use those songs again.

That's still unknown - probably will come up in the sequel series.

I don't think we know enough about the familiars for them to get a video each but I'll cover them in the Perugius one. I'm trying to do characters anime onlies know about first though (next will probably be Zanoba since he'll appear in the next episode), so characters from later will probably be covered after the season or when I run out of characters anime onlies might be curious about spoilers for!

It isn't really known - but he's not the real human god, he's something born in the void that replaced the human god. His goals are not clear as all we see him really work for is to survive.

I was just unsure since at some point he had what he wanted since the other worlds were mostly peaceful which would've meant that he survieves, unless something happened when he replaced the real human god that required him to reduce the number of worlds to survieve. In any case I'm looking forward to the author's explanation as right now unless he is just pure evil and wanted to destroy the worlds for entertainment his actions were pretty irrational for someome who wants to survieve.

Not really irrelevant. You can think of Rudeus as Bilbo Baggins and Hitogami as Sauron. Hitogami will be the main antagonist of the Mushoku Tensei sequel and he's a literal Lovecraftian god only a fellow god can kill. By that analogy, Mushoku Tensei is the Hobbit while the sequel is LOTR with much higher stakes.

I think it's literal, from what I've read, with the void world literally the space inside the die. I don't think the worlds are round either - for instance, the dragon world is actually upside down - mountains above, sky below, which would be hard to conceptualize as a globe. The heaven/sky world is just sky, with a thin layer of water covering the entire surface. They all have interesting designs, because they were originally this last unstable thing created by the original creator god... the lore of all of that is quite brief though, understandably.

I think that'll be in the sequel. There is a chapter about her in Redundancy but it is while she is still being kept asleep in Perugius' castle and only waking up once a month.

Laplace was a dragon general before the 5 other worlds were destroyed, when the first dragon god was alive. That is waaay back in his backstory though. All the stuff you're talking about is after he went over to the human world (where Mushoku Tensei takes place). As for stronger, well, back then, when Laplace was a general, Orsted was just a baby, so Laplace was stronger. Now, it's hard to say given so much happened to change Laplace and there are two of him and so on... The stuff about Laplace's early days is all from Old Dragon's Tale - you should read it if you haven't, it's really good but a lot of people end up sleeping on it, I guess because it's thousands of years before Rudeus' story.

Well, his story isn't over yet - he'll definitely be in the sequel, given he is expected to reincarnate what would be about 80 years after where the anime currently is. I hope he gets a redemption somehow because I really like his old self after Old Dragon's Tale.

The anime is currently on volume 6 of the LN but I can't remember what chapter. Volume 6 is amazing.
