@@MRVAST-op7sg yes lol and just like catman the women versions do it better 😉. But it's tough to compete with catwoman and wonder woman. Awareness helps, I liked forget-me-not I learned about from this channel. Flash's rogues are underrated too. 3:52 lol wonder man got ms marvel to use "the opposite of violence" lucky guy.
@@matthewschwartz6607 yeah plus it's easier to diversify ensembles with spectrum or blue marvel who are probably more powerful. Wonder man is a hard sell these days.
@@Always_on_Cue how could they? his character is written into being better than Superman in every way... while superman himself is a meme for being too powerful
There's no wonder he's never seen in Marvel stories. He's like Sentry, Blue Marvel, Vulcan and Hyperion. Just one shooting criminals making the stories short as hell.
I noticed that too, but so was Rogue and how ironic two of my favorite heroes are getting the shine that's far overdue! You see I always knew Wonder Man and Rogue would surpass all the other characters in power, then popularity! Back in 1981 midnight, I had a dream that Rogue and Wonder Man would ultimately save the Marvel multiverse. After I woke up from that dream, a premonition came to me that showed Rogue and Wonder Man becoming husband and wife after defeating the most biggest threat to grace the multiverse! They become the greatest among all superheroes and become so popular they put Marvel on top as the biggest comics franchise ever! When they married Rogue to Gambit, they messed up a little, but I hope Rogue trade's up soon! The premonition fortold that all the heroes will be on the brink of failing to protect the multiverse. Just when everything looks bleak, two will pull off the big W saving all lives across all worlds and realities. One is an Avenger, the other is one of the X-MEN, one male, one female! They shall be honored as true, but still humble heroes! After that premonition, I've followed Wonder Man's and Rogue's careers ever since! I'm even putting some Wonder Man costumes together to cosplay in and some Rogue costumes too! Marvel is being lazy and dragging their feet putting my two favorite superheroes in their proper top spots and rumors have it that DC comics may go bankrupt, this is the right time and opportunity to caterpult Rogue and Wonder Man to the head of what could be the biggest comic book crossover of all eternity! First allow all the big time main characters to fight first, then We can get the biggest surprize in seeing the last two superheroes we'd expect would carry the rest of the heroes on their shoulders and win against what will be the single biggest threat to all of existence and according to the premonition, Gambit will be a chess pawn of the evil beings, but after my favorite superheroes come through on the clutch, Gambit will go into hiding, but leave a soory ass letter for Rogue to find! That's alright, she will be a little hurt, but she doesn't need Gambit to keep gaining popularity, she was the main attraction between them both! She's the money maker in that whole bit right there and she does well on her own! She will always have her fans, fellow x-men and Avengers! She has earned all her fame over the years by joining the X-MEN, developing a trustworthiness with her team mates! She's never latched onto other's spotlight, she's worked her tail off and built her way up! Same with Wonder Man! That's why according to that premonition, and if Marvel get it together, they will realize the first day they developed Rogue and Wonder Man as characters, they had no idea they started something big! If they already knew they would've made these to the most prominent couple in the comics industry and that opportunity still stands! They created " that secret ingredient in Rogue and Wonder Man that would put Superman and Wonder Woman to shame in popularity. All Marvel needs to do is move forward with that formular and Mr./Mrs. Wonderful will sell so fast that trade paperbacks and hardcovers featuring Rogue and Wonder Man will sell out so fast, you might as well make digital copies with all digital comics because that'll be the easiest way for fans to get their hands on that graphic novel crossover!I can see it now, it'll be compleat pandemonia and then watch all the fighting games in the gaming world mod their favorite character in Wonder Man and Rogue's attire! According to that 1981 premonition, Rogue and Wonder Man will take over the spotlight so much, even the cosmological hiearchy of all the comics publishers will take a back seat to these two, Marvel, DC,Image, Wildstorm and every comics including Japanese assuming they all have their versions of the source and One's Above all, they will become mundane compaired to Wonder Man and Rogue, in fact these two can have the potential to do what even pre- retco Beyonder couldn't achieve, cross into all comics media as guest appearances! Now that's an impact no comics publisher company has ever even imagined doing! Marvel has the chance to be the first and only publisher to push their characters to such boundless prominence!
My favorite hero of all time. He is so insanely awesome, and yet writers just don't seem to know what to do with him. He could easily be a mainstream hero and a household name, if only the right writers could get a hold of him and stop using the excuse that his "name" is what's holding him back.
@@alonassoolin2968 actually, depending on the timing, she could be called Warbird in some of these images. She took the Captain Marvel name back just before she changed to the new outfit. She was a much better character during the time she wore that costume.
@Jo O Actually, Carol Danvers was the original Ms Marvel back in 1977, before Monica Rambeau who was introduced in 1982, taking the name from how similar her original powers were to Captain Mar-vell of the Kree, the race whose exploding device from which she got her powers. Additionally, Monica Rambeau has NEVER been Ms Marvel, she was Captain Marvel. Beating Carol Danvers to the Captain title. Carol Danvers code-names (in order): Carol Danvers (1968), Ms Marvel (1977), Binary (1982), Warbird (1998), Captain Marvel (2012) Monica Rambeau code-names (in order): Captain Marvel (1982), Photon (1996), Pulsar (2005), Spectrum (2013) Edit: Corrected Spelling and added information
Cool write up of an (nowadays) UNDERRATED character. His current, "Peacenik", non violence arc is garbage. Gotta object to the"gifted" combat stat though. He's not. Never Was.In fact much of Wonder Man's"charm" was that he wasn't "Super Resourceful "(Iron Man), A combat Adept(Captain America),Extremely competitive(Ben Grimm) or "A Warrior Born" like Thor or Hercules. Nope,he was kinda "regular" folk,Never truly comfortable with the Heroic role often Lost the "Big" fights that required "superior combat savvy "(Hyperion, Green Hulk,Grey Hulk,Thor,Korvac, Gladiator) He even said as much while fighting Count Nefaria. Good character BECAUSE he finds it Hard to be Heroic.
In terms of powers and personal story arc, he overlaps a lot with Hulk. Super-strong and tough brick-type and has mental stability issues that villains commonly manipulate. He would be redundant in the core Avengers. And I say that as a Wonder Man fan. Now if they keep expanding the MCU and there is finally more than one super-team, he could be that team's 'Hulk'.
I remember being baffled by Wonder Man's costume when I first saw him. It looked like a red leisure suit with a blue turtleneck and sunglasses. I wondered if he was going to fight evil or go from an EST meeting to a party in the valley. The undercover villain turned hero storyline was one of the better plot twists.
Deffo one of the characters I'd like to see in the MCU. I always liked the idea of someone who is basically invulnerable doing awesome stunts in movies. They'd have to scale back on his power a bit, but I'd much rather see this character than Hawkeye in a movie.
Captain Marvel I get, because DC weren't using him at the time and that's the name of their company but Marvel was real petty copyrighting the name "Wonder Man", just so DC couldn't lol That being said, he's a great character and pretty OP but his name holds him back from reaching any sort of mainstream success.
Sup, Sage! A old school character who's never really gotten his do here in modern times. Probably because of him being so damn powerful, must be challenge for most writers to work with him. Kinda sad with being being on the last chapter, all this work about to pay off, and now Cyberpunk is right around the corner, about to drag me away from my work. Still, being the size of two typical chapters I'm gonna need the break soon--and I'm not gonna lie, the stress of the publishing process is scary as hell to me. This pending harsh criticism. All the phone calls and messaging over the phone and computer. Editors and other people. It's all foreign to me! I just hope my novel as chance, and that's all I'm asking for, a fair chance from the people.
Creed! 😎👊🏽 It's not the end, my dude! You're just getting close to the "beginning!" It's about to all come together for you! This lap is almost done! 🏃♂️ 💪🏽
@@themarvellord6474 Hey! I really appreciate the show of support. It really does go a long way when others say such thing, never doubt that! Thank you again.
He was a dope Bruiser in the now-defunct Marvel Avengers Alliance who was immune to all Damage Over Time effects (Bleeding, Burning, Chilled, Poisoned etc.) & also a great Protector
I think a lot of us would use our superpowers for fame and fortune instead of good or evil, there's always a 3rd choice people. Great one Sage, when I was a kid he was one of my favorites, I think his look sold me back then. The hip jets and jacket with shades were slick 😎
Can be done, but his story would have to be "exceptionally" written as he is very OP. (sidenote: since he is connected to Vision, they could use his character to bring Vision back if they desired)
@@Kriskazam LOL...Fiege isn't going to do that. Unlike Star Wars Fiege has a formula he's not gonna stray from,..and OP characters aren't a part of it with certain exceptions that must meet a criteria,..
He should have been introduced in phase 2. Him and Stark had beef due to his father company Williams Innovations and Stark Industries being rivals and Stark wanting to buy out the company.
I remember buying a reissue in tomes of the original Avengers, and Simon was one of my favourites. A decade later I was super shock when he made a comeback on (at that time) the new avengers comics: Wanda was being tortured and she called for him, and he was, once more. Epic.
I first saw Wonder Man in Avengers West Coast around 1990, the issue where they fight a temporarily smarter Hydro-Man, who almost beats them before having his artifical smarts yanked. Back then the only powers he had were super-strength, super-toughness, invulnerabity to energy attacks, and just-barely-super-reflexes. He could fly, but only using Stark-tech jet-packs on his belt or back. I thought that mix of abilities was enough to make him cool and interesting without being over-powered. They really should stuck to that, maybe giving low-level innate flying.
Marvel has too many cosmic energy-absorbing flying bricks (Captain Marvel, Blue Marvel, Sentry, Wonder Man, Quasar, Hyperion [both versions], Michael Korvac, Adam Warlock, etc.) but only few of them are ever given any depth or development.
Salute King that rating of 8 is what I arrived at also. Wonder man has been around for so long. Lets not forget his secret rivary with Ironman , lets not foget Tony design one of the wonderman's rocket belts he wore along with some others in the Westcoast Avengers. Also how abou when he left the superhero business and became a fulltime actor in Hollywood and Invited the Beast to be his roommate in Beverly Hills of all places lol And we are talking about the deep blue Beast not Hank McCoy lol Beast first discovered the mautant Dazzler in those issues. But any Fine profile on Wonder Man indeed, I always thought his brother Grim Reaper was a design after thought though. Lol peace
I followed the story of the Feds decommissioning Vision and tearing him apart. When Wonder man turns down the Scarlet Witch for asking to record his brain she attacks, drops a cliff on him. I always thought she might have hexed him and that caused his mental breakdown.
When first created Vision was mostly comprised of synthetic flesh, with the circuitry being "micro"(more "Human " than Cyborg). Rarely was he"damaged" so that" circuitry"was "displayed"(weak ass "Onslaught " stories). Since then he has pretty much gone from "Synthezoid",an "Artificial man" to a freaking "Robot". New(terrible) writers make him look metallic and like any ol Robot he gets "trashed" every issue. The "Tech era" and Bad writers,Destroyed a unique character.....and yeah, made him a "printer".
My dude! I always thought 💬 the avengers looked over Wonder Man. The guy has a sick power set. I liked the Hollywood stunt man angle too. Johnny Cage origin is straight from wonder man
WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So very OPed. My question is, how come there isn't a live-action version of this mighty Avenger hero. Wonder Man should definitely be in the new version of Avengers for the next Marvel phase of the MCU since most of them are gone after Avengers Endgame. I hope one day Wonder Man can be on the big screen joining the next version of the Avengers.
The story line between he, Vision and the Scarlet Witch was always an interesting sub plot especially when Vision was wiped and Wanda asked for WonderMan to be “copied” again. He realized that it wouldn’t bring back the Vision just a different form.
One of Marvel's underrated characters. I use to have some of those comics, when he went toe to toe with Thor, the Hulk and the Vision. But when teamed up with the Beast, it was more like comic relief.
I love Wonder Man. Great backstory and compelling character. Underrated powerhouse. As for his strength, it has been shown and measured to be comparable to Thor, Hulk, Hercules, and Sentry.
Now here is an underrated blast from the past I haven't heard about in a while!! I did enjoy this guy........ I looked at him is like The Avengers version of Colossus
@@NewSage also the fact that he is often overlooked excited character even though he develops a lot too Maine stories and Leadership roles....... Never given credit for it though
The guy has been the only character in the Marvel Universe who has died So Many times. Seriously, the guy has died So Many times it's hilarious. People kept saying Jean died so many times. But, likely, Jean died only 5 times. Pretty much less than any other heroes in the Marvel Universe. The second Marvel character who has died nearly as much as he does is actually his brother, The Grim Reaper. AMD lile brothers, they have the only thing that made them closer.
Fun fact in the original Guardians of the Galaxy timeline Wonder Man went on to be called Hollywood and was also on the team Galactic Guardians. They got a mini-series.
I like Wonder Man. His friendship with The Beast, his rivalry with his brother, and his ionic powers (I’m used to his black ionic form from the Kurt Busiek Avengers run.). I didn’t know that he was called Mr.Wonderful, though. I, uh, I don’t even know what to say about that.
Cool! RU-vid suggested you based on the fact that I frequent♥️JLS♥️ well I'm happy to say you do a very solid report. And I look forward to your content in the future. Not only do you have a clear&fluid manner of speaking👍You have your material put together well&your use of visuals is very impressive👍One thing that bothers me, Is when (Someone is doing what is essentially a book report) &I have to look at a person's face more than the content they're speaking of. Always a bad move& you didn't make that mistake. As a matter fact you did really good with the uses&timing of your visuals. &your wide range of knowledge at least on this character in particular is impressive.🤐⚟
Omg I would love to see Eye Boy, Wonder Man, and Spectrum work together and use their powers to see different energies. Like, if they had to solve a puzzle or something
Being a Marvel fan from silver age (I stopped reading 'em in 1970 when I discovered girls when a teen at school) I knew of, but nothing about, Wonder Man. You filled in the gaps. Cheers for that ! 😊
I always was so interested in this character. But everything is always so chaotic with his stories and just leaves me mad confused. Especially his brother, it just seemed like he had nothing better to do so he became a supervillain.
Wonder Man was Marvel's answer to DC's Captain Atom. He should've been in the third Iron Man movie as the tragic villain, not that lame ass fake Mandarin. And I'm not talking about Sir Ben Kingsley.
This guy REALLY needs an MCU adaptation With the original Avengers gone a snarky actor turned superhero could fill the hole Iron Man's death left in the group
