@@Donniedarko458 Nothing, some (emphasis on some) just find it unusual when someone has only dated people of one race and they have a preference for that race. Frankly, I don't care at all as long as it's not because you have some weird fetish for a certain race. That's a little weird but I mean live your life. If you like white guys then enjoy it.
I think they made the joke in the show because it was a critic people had at the time that Mindy only dated white guys so it was kind of a self depreciating joke kinda of thing tho Mindy also dated a black guy (played by Ne-Yo) for a couple of episode and even an Indian guy (who thought she wasn't Indian enough idk if it count tho because she only dated him to prove that she was Indian enough)
Omg, me too. Him and pre season 4b Danny were my absolute favorites for Mindy. It’s funny cause they literally had to find something to make Casey and Mindy breakup cause he was perfect for her lmao
He was interesting in the beginning but it’s a shame his character became _so_ *archaic* towards the end only to *redeem* himself in the _final_ few episodes. I still Stan the actors amazing *chemistry* ⚡️together - for that reason I hope they work together on a project again sometime in the future ⚡️💥✨
@@flala2261 I agree with you. And I found virtually all the characters problematic. I think Mindy and her writers deliberately wrote them like this for what they consider humorous but sometimes they went over the top with how the characters acted. It's a shame they couldn't find the balance in how they portrayed their characteristics especially with making Mindy and Danny endgame but alias I find this is a theme that frequently happens when writers want to keep their main couple connected to each other while breaking them up. Just a lot of unnecessary angst and drama.. Although by the end Mindy realised marriage wasn't the end all having forced herself to get married for the wrong reasons.
@@springmontes I think his arc was realistic and they kind of leaned into it because the actor left the show. He needed time to evolve and mature in order to be a viable partner for Mindy which is what we saw, plus Mindy also needed to grow up, be more independent & less codependent on the men in her life.

No. Danny is selfish and a jerk because of his daddy and broken marriage issues and his mamas boy-ness. He only wants what he wants and he’s set in his ways. Mindy is not self hating. She loved him and was always compromising for him and wasn’t confident to stand in her own truth. That’s why it was good that she broke up with him later on.
