Derek chats with Feyenoord supporter Johan Brinkel from the hugely popular @keingeloel1673 podcast to get the lowdown on the Rangers-linked defender.
He’s played 80 games for Groningen and rapid Vienna respectively so tht tells me he’s not a project player he’s ready to play first team football a don’t think he would have come here if he was not promised game time he’s played mostly at rb but can play cb and lb if needed. Give the kid a chance before we slaughter him.
Appreciate the effort with this type of content but the guy admitted about a minute in he has barely seen the boy play. Not sure thats much of an inside track . As always will withhold any judgement until he plays for Rangers
It was done last minute if you heard the beginning and it was enough to be cautious about him. He might work, he might be guff. It's up to him to show it and from the reports made in this video, he better make an impact or his career is in trouble of fading into obscurity.
He looks to have good physicality and size. Hopefully he can play well in defence. I read he can play all across the back 4, but is mainly a RB, who can play CB. If Tav, struggles further, he could take over there as almost insurance, and he could form a partnership with Propper and Proppers experience may help him. Hopefully he works out for us. Though on listening further here he does sound like a bit of a diddy when he switches off. Hopefully he comes with thenright attitude and fullfills potential. @J.D_7
@@rangersnutJames Tavernier played more games as an outfield player last season than anyone else. Over 50 games 90 mins every time. He won 12 MOTM awards in the league alone, and was nominated for PFA Scotland’s POTY. James Tavernier won’t be moving away from that right back position for anyone. Especially someone who can’t even get a game with Feyenoord who Celtic beat last season.
Basically Celtic are out buying foxs biscuits and kit kats and we are shopping at XS STOCK buying the broken biscuit bags hoping to pull out a single unbroken bourbon cream or viscount. I hope guy works out as with any signing, but he sounds like a diddy going by the Rangers Review. He has signed officially so let's hope for the best.
@bobthebear2103 yep I am hoping that element is true and somehow we have found a new way of working and have been more shrewd than we have for the last decade. All we can hope is for the best. I haven't seen any official confirmation yet on any signings. Feeling annoyed
Not a 5 star review but he’s been playing consistently and from the videos I’ve seen he looks half decent. We just have to hope it clicks for him with us, if not we truly are wasting our time.
The board have no transfer money. They have to play within who they can remove from the wage bill whilst reducing that bill. It will be loans and free agents for a while.
