It was a highly tense and awkward postgame handshake between Alabama State head coach Eddie Robinson Jr. and Jackson State coach Deion Sanders. And that was just the beginning.
I'm old enough to remember Prime playing a NFL game and then flying to play in the World Series for the Braves that same night. He was a dude you loved to hate because of how darn good he was.
I think he flew all the way from seattle to play that game too I just can clearly remember him talkin chit in his jeri curl after the game in the old kingdome an next thing you know a helicopter dropping him off at the atl stadium lol
Exactly 💯% it seemed like Eddie Robinson Jr. is just jealous man, if you really listen closely to what he was saying...Sound like a little kid..."he didn't shake my hand at the 50yd. line before the game" he ran 🏃♂️ laps around our team and took the long way around the field" "I felt disrespected" Deion is not SWAC, LOL 🤣🤣. his team tried to score another touchdown on us...just take a knee...LOL 🤣🤣...Eddie Robinson just crying like a little girl
Exactly.. Coach Prime is just not a presence for JSU he is working so all HBCU's can get a piece of the pie. Hence sell out game, that helped ASU as well. 🤦🏾♀️
That’s right. That people know more about Deion than him. That people know more about Eddie Robinson Sr. than him. It seems as if he’s pissed that nobody would know who he is if it weren’t for someone else. He’ll never be his daddy and he’ll never be Deion Sanders. Get ready to live the rest of your life in someone else’s shadow.
Robinson is (as my Mum would say) letting the devil ride him and the devil won that race with his reaction to his loss and by his words. Jealousy is a terrible thing and Mr Robinson, really needs to get over it! Greetings from the Netherlands 🤗 🇳🇱
Prime even gets everyone hype off the cuff in a post-game interview. One of the few people in the world with a huge ego and is legend enough to back up every word.
Backing up every word is very easy when you have a much more talented team. Truly excited to see how much he is able to continue the successes on the field when the other team is just as talented. Just some food for thought. Backing up every word in his young coaching career has been easy to this point, and that’s an understatement. All opinions tho. One love.
@@ph5391 It will be exciting to see what Prime can do with a FBS school in a Power Five conference. There is no question he will attract more talent than they ever have in the past, but seeing if they can hang with the SEC powerhouses will be interesting to watch.
@@russty5692 watch again! EJ tried to get physically aggressive pushing Deion’s chest. Prime Time’s reaction was in disbelief EJ acted like a punk & sore loser! That classy? Let’s not forget how EJ acted like a b!tch & whines like a school girl. He then admits to trying to hurt a player. Talk about classy!
When I first heard Coach Robinson’s explanation I took his side and understood why he was upset. But then Coach Sanders came out and answered each and every question with dignity and honestly and now I realize Coach Robinson is just a salty loser. Coach Prime hyped the game all week long and put butts in the stands. And when it was all said and done he walked across the field to embrace his fellow counterpart and was rudely accosted with a disrespectful shove. Shame on you Coach Robinsons. You need to set a better example for your team.
Frankly, to be understanding of Robinson's behavior is shameful. This is the leader of his team and he is supposed to be the example for his team. In life things happen rather right or wrong. How a person handles those situations defines who they are. A lot of coaches dogged Sanders when he first got to JSU when they whipped on his team during the spring games they had because of Covid. All of the chickens have now come home to roast. This is the type of stuff white media will eat up at the expense of Coach Robinson actions. It not only impacts State but HBCU's period. Also, Prime talked about home coming because JSU fans have traveled better than any team in the SWAC. All these teams want to benefit financially by having their homecoming that week. The truth is State doesn't bring near the fans that JSU does. Let's all share the pie.
I feel you on that, but at the same time, if dude didn't want to hug, he didn't have to hug. A handshake is sufficient. Tbh, I don't like bro-huggin' every dude, either... mainly because I'm from the streets and that's a good way to get shanked or pulled in for a chokehold. That's not to say that Coach Robinson should have that fear about Deion, but it's obvious he was salty towards him and didn't want to hug him. It probably could've been handled differently. I don't know.
That's right white media gonna eat on this one Saban & Jimbo Fisher had word months ago they played today bama won they met shook hands whispered in each others ears beer on me at the country club
@@KtotheG ..." shanked or pulled in for a chokehold." Really??? Were these coaches that met at the 50 yard line or two combatants meeting in the prison yard?
You do understand Deion has the best recruiting tool in the nation being who he is. He has one of the best teams and staff in all of FCS, no one even knew who jc state was a couple years ago
@@Jay-fq8uz Maybe you didn't know because they had some down years. Walter Payton, Jackie Slater. Jimmie Smith, Robert Brazille just to nention a few. Where is Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State - all are also rans for years now.
You must be one of his kids or their parents because none of those words meant anything to this situation. What does selling tickets have to do with this particular interaction? Nothing at all... so let's just talk about the handshake and why he grabbed all up on Eddie because he didn't hug him... that's point blank. The rest of it is irrelevant. The devil sells hella tickets too and Deion has been pretending to be the lords shepherd for years. Why can't he grow up? This was great 25 years ago. I'm the biggest Deion fan in the world. I had ABSOLUTELY everything Deion and I just recently passed it to my nephew but he's 50... why is he still bragging about money and the devil's wares?
@@chuckdeuces911 "What does selling tickets have to do with this particular interaction?" The coach of ASU brought up Deion's words before the game as an example of disrespect, Deion then explained that he said what he said not to be personally disrespectful but to drum up attention for the game (ticket sales being the perfect way of showing that his smack tack worked in drumming up attention for the game). "so let's just talk about the handshake and why he grabbed all up on Eddie because he didn't hug him" this one is simple its a formality. at the end of a game win or lose you're supposed to show respect towards the other team the fact that Eddie stiff armed Deion is plain disrespect so he shoved his arm off him.
@@LastREalone Southwestern Athletic Conference and both teams are SWAC. That coach trippin about Coach Sanders not being in SWAC. That coach a sore loser.
This interview is classic. I was salesman did we sell the game out? I love it “I don’t need nobody to motivate me” Prime is about that football life, very intelligent, and caring!
Loved Prime when he was batting leadoff for the Braves and then running all over the Eagles. Prime is an extremely bright human being and a true American treasure that we get to live in the same time period with.
Coach Prime is that dude. 😎 He deserves his flowers. It's a great thing to know that young men and women still have people around like Coach Prime to mentor them.
There is way more important things goin on in the world besides foozeball ! But those are your only options black kid rap or sports because you too lazy to pick up a dam book.
I never watched a SWAC game until Coach Prime, I watched him as a kid throughout his entire career and well, he has got a hell of a team and its fun to watch.

Whenever you are living in your purpose and are winning while doing so... haters will hate. Keep movin Deion... we love you... you are a living legend.
Right! Ppl have hated on Prime Time his entire football life! As a player he was arrogant, cocky, classless, disrespectful, bad for the game, etc! Now he’s getting the same shade as a coach! Ppl hate it when others have success!
His disrespect doesn't have to match yours of what you think is disrespectful. He said his opinion and that's it. One man's disrespect is the same as another's. But I appreciate both sides.
@@josephpeeler5434 Robinson said a bunch of nothing. He got mad because Deon was running around the field. Now he claimed they were warming up down there. So, what? Deon does that every game. So, how is that disrespectful? It's not. He stated that Deon disrespected his team all week but never said what it was? That's a bunch of nothing. Then he brought up the fact he was sitting at the 50 yard line and Deon said nothing to him. Deon stated the team got there late and they were rushing trying to get their warmup in. That's not disrespect. Then he said the Deon is not SWAC. So, he decides who is SWAC and who is not? There are a lot of coaches that didn't play in the SWAC. So, please give me a factual point that excuses this coach for acting a damn fool and have every media source talking about a handshake rather than the game that his kids played hard in?
@@tawtam1 It wasn't just that. Deion walked through the AS players in their endzone before the game, and JS tried a hitch-and-go with seconds to go when the game was out of reach. Why does Deion get a "bro hug" after all of that? He is lucky his arrogant preening ass got a handshake from Coach Robinson. Deion ain't SWAC!
Coach Prime (Deion Sanders) is a man that should be listened to when he speaks. He has the perfect speaking voice. Everywhere he goes, he causes a positive benefit on people, communities, businesses, local economies and the sports world. I believe!

Honestly haven’t watched a SWAC game since i was in high school. But this was really good. Southern U came to play LSU in the preseason and it was fun. Watching Prime and the SWAC come up is awesome. I wish this conference got more TV time and i honestly hope PT stays at least one more year to build some more notoriety.
I saw Deion play almost every home game when he was in Atlanta when I was a kid. Before every game he took a lap around the field right by the stands. Almost every fan that held their hand out would get a high five from Prime Time. I used to think it was so cool that I gave Deion a high five. Lol
That is DOPE for sure, but Deon got the energy he put out right back to him after the game. Why would he be so infuriated to push a man because he didn’t embrace you?! He shook your hand and didn’t respect your actions, now he’s playing the good ol saint preacher role after the game. That’s life and the game is along the same lines. I went into this video thinking that Eddie Robinson Jr. had been wronged but by the end of the video I was firmly on Deion's side. He responded so well to every complaint that Robinson had about him and ultimately Robinson came across as a sore loser. Deion is flashy and cocky and that will turn some people off, but he always backed up his talk with his performance on the field as a player.
He’s a sore loser and it’s a bad example for the young players. Coach Sanders hyped the game in order to sell tickets and bring more attention and excitement to the HBCU programs for the benefit of all sides (at no point was Coach Sanders disrespectful to that program or personnel on a personal basis). Afterwards, Coach Sanders handled it like a professional by attempting to congratulate and embrace by shaking hands, and Coach Robinson Jr.’s immaturity had him carrying on like an amateur who knows little to nothing about hyping an event for the benefit of all involved, including getting the attention of pro scouts to be curious at the talent both sides have.
Dude just oozes charisma. Young people probably don’t understand how talented he was when he was younger. One of the best cornerbacks ever and probably would’ve been a multi-time All-Star if he committed to baseball. Fucking legend.
