99% of reactors miss the subtlety of Mikasa's reaction when she realized Eren died. The shine in her eyes fades away into a cold blank nothingness.

A lot of reactors miss that Armin gave the gas to Mikasa and asked to keep one blade because he was planning to kill himself. "I don't want to be eaten alive", that's why Mikasa throws the blade away.

Most people miss When Mikasa said "If I win, Ill live, if I can't, I'll die" before she went on a rampage. Remember those were the words Eren spoke to her when he was being choked by those murderers saving mikasa as a kid, to convince her to stab the guy to survive.

Watching it alone was crazy. I went to everyone in my life at that point to talk about it, and no one watched anime. I suppose that's one of the reasons I love watching people react to it for the first time.

A common anime trope is if the white light inside of a character's eyes (simulating the light reflecting off of it) is absent, it indicates that the character is unconscious, sleep-walking, hypnotized, mind-controlled, or otherwise not fully thinking clearly. When the camera pans up to Mikasa after she hears the news of Eren's death, we see the light in her eyes suddenly not be there, and that continues all the way up to she remembers Eren's drive to fight/win/live while on her knees; that's the moment that we see the light return to her eyes, because she's starting to think about what she is doing.

I lost my mother as unexpectedly as you guys did but it was a very different experience for me. My mother had just sent me to stay with my grandparents for the summer two days before someone broke into the house and killed her. I was numb and didn't really react until the funeral. During the funeral, it finally hit me that she was gone and never coming back. I don't remember leaving the cemetery and I have no memories of anything else for about two and a half months. I don't remember where I stayed, what I said or did, who was around me, and what they said or did during that time. I was only 10 years old when she died and her death hit me so hard that I very nearly grieved myself to death. I don't have any siblings and when I lost her, I lost everything. My home, my pets, my school, my friends, even my clothes and toys. My grandmother's intervention was the only thing that saved my life. I still have PTSD from the events of that year and I'm 53 now. Losing a parent, especially in such a way, changes your life, changes you, in ways that you will still be discovering years down the road. I really sympathize with Mikasa because she lost her parents to human greed just like I lost my mother. It's been 43 years since she passed and I still can't remember what happened after the funeral. I don't think the wounds left by her death will ever really heal. Thanks for sharing something so personal with us, guys.

Japanese is a language in which detailed differences can occur depending on the speaker's personality and emotions. To explain how Mikasa's speech sounds as a native Japanese speaker, Mikasa's speech is inorganic, like a machine voice. This is how you can tell that Mikasa is suppressing a deep sadness deep in her heart. The way the other characters speak conveys their emotions straight away. Incidentally, Sasha's speech is so polite that it is not appropriate for the battlefield, but in a pinch she has an interesting accent from her hometown. Someday I would like to make a video explaining this. This story is full of surprises and emotions. Enjoy!

A lot of love to you guys. I admire that you share your most vulnerable painful experience with your audience because it may help others feel not alone in their pain - people are still expected to hide their grief and ignore how much it changes you as a person. We're supposed to pretend that a month of mourning is enough time to process it. AOT is a great show at emphasising humanity's capacity for resilience and persistence.

I keep coming back to 1x7 AoT reactions. This made me watch the series up to the end when i first watched it. This episode was the first solid proof that there is hope for humanity

Actually what you're watching right now is nothing compared to whats coming next in this series, this series will get better and better with every episode, you guys will have SO MUCH questions, and at some point you guys will think that there is no way they can answer that many questions, but when they are answered it will be jaw dropping! There are many things and moments that you're thinking thats just a normal but later on everything will be connected, out of every single show I've watched, my favorite is attack On Titan, if you guys think this is in same level as breaking bad after watching these few episodes... You guys have no idea how much GREATER it will get,, in my opinion, this is greatest storytelling ever made.... Just enjoy the ride.

AOT is such a good anime ; incredible storytelling, amazing characters, interesting world building, lore and mystery and of course, the deep emotions you feel through the animation, the voice actor and the music. I grew up with AOT. With it, I learned how to be patient while I was waiting for the episodes and the seasons. I learned how to deal with emotions like sadness and frustration when things don't go as you want. I leaned how to have empathy for others and that people have their own reasons for doing things. I learned how to let go of the past but still learning from it. I learned how important it was to love yourself and others because, they can die easily. I learned how to analyze a movie, a series, how to find hint in the details, how you can interpret lines, ... But now that AOT is finished, it's difficult to find something that is as good as this series. Sure, there is other shows that I watched after and like, but it doesn't feel like it's better or on the same page as AOT.

Mikasa is a beautiful written character..

If you think this part is a masterpeace, you are so not ready for what is to come. Every single episode where the plot advance, the story will hit deeper and deeper. Each seasons, eveything will be more complex. Along the show, you'll have your minds blown, you'll feel sadness, proud, happy, and ask you a lot of question about real life. This show is very philosophical, even if it seems to be simple in the first season.

I like these reactors, I could watch them everyday for hours.

Mikasa's reaction to Eren's death is a trauma response. I have the same type. I go numb inside and I can do anything and everything that needs to be done. You break down once your adrenaline wears down and you're alone and out of the public eye. This has happened to me twice in my life.

I’ve found that the AoT fanbase in particular has the toxic trend of trying to tell others how to enjoy the show whether that is fun vs sub, skipping the openings and endings, and so on. To hear that people are adding cursing at you both for pausing and rewatching bits for whatever reason you two feel is valid is not surprising but disappointing. We all really need to just show some grace and let people consume content the way that works for them. Just because you, the people who have finished the series, enjoyed the show X way doesn’t mean everyone else will enjoy it the exact same way. On the definition of a "Black Box". It just refers to any system/product/machine that a user can use without knowing what happens inside. Your phone or computer, for example, is a black box to most people. You know perfectly well how to use it, but how it works on the inside might as well be magic. In this case, the 3d maneuver gear is not only a black box to most of its users, but the way it works is also seemingly hidden by the engineers making the devices. (Like any company might do with proprietary hardware)

Notice when she held his hand 17:47 there was no life in her eyes as she gave up in living, this time with the same shot 46:05 she held his hand but with glows in her eyes as she gained hope and motivation again.. Also she threw the blade cuz he gave her all his gas and blades but kept one saying " i dont wanna get eaten" meaning he was gonna off himself with that one blade. So she refused that by throwing it and telling him she will not abandon him by leaving him behind her to suicide.

Mikasa is physically strong. And deceivingly mentally strong. But she is actually still the traumatized little girl, that became mentally and emotionally muted and Eren dependant. In a more toxic way. Down the line I will reisit this and elaborate further. This is important to distinguish because many ppl dismiss this to her flashy battlemanship. Its important because down the line it will have repercussions. This gives her layers of complexity that many female characters lack.

I love watching you guys, I think you guys are absolutely one of the best reactors I have ever seen. I can't wait for the next video.

I watched AOT during its first release and I was in 7th grade that time. The emotions I had was overwhelming lol it was the first time I stayed up till the morning to binge watch an anime

Something I would recommend. Don't have to make it a series since it would be a lot of effort but give at least the first 2-3 seasons a rewatch with the context you would have gotten after watching the full show. You won't regret it :)
