I loved every boss, but I feel that the normal Meta knight fight it's just SO good, it isn't the hardest but man, it really feels like a duel against him, with no mind control or third entity in the middle, no, just a duel between two friendly rivals, it also had good music and epic attacks, especially the one when Meta knight throws a lot of beams.
AbsoLUTELY! I beat him no damage with no abilities on my first go, but I still adored the fight, next to Forgo Leon, he's definitely one of my favorites.
Phantom Sillydillo also doesn't knock itself, well...silly on the third roll. It skids to a halt. They do still have a little bit of a hesitation before acting again, but it's not the softball for a charged attack in the normal Sillydillo fight: a hesitation that will end its fight right then and there if you're in position.
Kirby and the forgotten land really just makes every boss feel so much better like meta Knight for example, instead of just walking around attacking kirby occasionally he develops a big brain AI that can dodge so much better than 2d and that's really shown in the phantom version
One thing I find brilliant about the Clawroline fight is how well its placed from a game design standpoint. If you aren’t going for completion you might not respect it the same way, but I had the hardest time clearing the “defeat the boss without taking damage” mission on this fight more than any other since the fights up until this point in the game didn’t really demand you to be reflexive. It really teaches you to learn timing for the fights up ahead while not being too steep of a learning curve that you can’t master it within a few tries.
I cheesed the fight big time: Blizzard Ice not only lets you freeze lock enemies AND bosses, but it also has an invincible shield meaning it's one of two abilities that cannot take chip guard damage (the other being Gigant Sword)
Not for me really, she is really good on that front but when you dealt with these mechanics before, it makes fights like clawroline less interesting although I do prefer her over sillydilo
In terms of gameplay, I can definitely understand that some other bosses might be better, but I have a soft spot for Fecto Forgo just because of how creepy and weird it’s design is. Plus I had a pretty insane reaction when I first reached it.
Fecto Forgo is an example of a boss not having to be super hard to be dramatic. Being chased down a narrow(ish) corridor by what's essentially a gelatinous elderitch horror of many faces, once still recognizably Leons, after seeing it ABSORB MULTIPLE BEAST TRIBE to form itself, is terrifying even if not really difficult.
Yeah it wasn’t hard for me, but I also have a soft spot for it because I was genuinely freaked out the first time I saw it and how horrifying it is for being in a Kirby game, and I’m already aware how creepy final boss phases in the series usually are Also I like the music in the fight due to how freaky it is, I’ve listened to it on loop a couple of times
Agreed. I've played pretty much every main-line Kirby game, and I think Fecto Forgo is the most disturbing creation the series has had. Which is saying a LOT.
For Kirby’s first full 3D outing, this was a massive success. Levels are hella fun and these bosses are all overall extremely solid in their own way with Elfilis’s fights being such crazy fun fights with one amazing design. 10/10 game from me
Kirby has a habit of making the final final boss a huge sphere type thing and even though its literally a sphere, its always one of the best designed fights in the whole game. The elfilis battles blew me away
And its always in some True Arena mode after a chain of 10+ bosses with minimum healing between that you get to encounter this boss for the first time with no practice or experience, meaning you'll probably get your butt kicked
The Fecto Forgo boss looks like a straight-up Eldritch Lovecraftian monster. I was shocked when I first saw footage of it, as I never expected that to appear. Also, did the final boss absorb the tour guide's soul? That's just terrifying to contemplate.
Forgotten Land's boss fights are so much fun I'd love to see how HAL pulls off a multiplayer Kirby game with the same 3D boss fights like in Forgotten Land
Many of the bosses in Kirby and the Forgotten Land (2022) are based on real life mammals, Gorimondo based on both the currently living gorillas or the extinct Gigantopithecus (family: Hominidae (Great Apes)/order: Primata (Primates)) so basically Gorimondo is a primate, Sillydillo is likely based on both a Nine-Banded Armadillo (Dasypus novemcinctus) and a Brazilian Three-Banded Armadillo (Tolypeutes tricinctus) (family: Dasypodidae (Armadillos)/order: Cingulata (Cingulates)), and Clawroline (real name Carol) and Leongar (real name Leon) are based on a Leopard (Panthera pardus) and a Lion (Panthera leo) respectively (family: Felidae (Cats)/order: Carnivora (Carnivorans)), basically Clawroline and Leongar are both based on carnivorans, so are several common enemies in the game like the Awoofies and Bernards are based on carnivorans, awoofies and bernards are very likely to be based on dogs (family Canidae).
@@shaneens1547 I think he's (it's) based off of a morpho butterfly, sense his (it's) name is "Morpho Knight" but at the same time, morpho butterflies are blue, not orange. So he (it) could also be a monarch butterfly too.
The main flaw of Clawroline is that all of her attacks hit ground level only, meaning you can basically hover over everything you're unsure how to dodge. (it's why one of her challenges is to NOT hover)
Ive been running the colosseums with needle and it really has a unique approach since needles best damage is picking up the stars dropped by bosses and throwing them back. Any boss that attacks quick enough to not be beaten by just spamming becomes way more fun.
Not really. same amount of bosses that you go through in triple deluxe's, which didn't have the multiple difficulty challenge sure, and instead had more minibosses, but it had more minibosses because there were more abilities. Theres only like10 abilities in Forgotten Land, not counting sleep and crash, and even I would say 10 midbosses are a bit too many. if they really wanted another midboss, I say they should have cut either cutter or sword, and replaced them with something else. it's redundant. perhaps replace it with spark or plasma. I think that ability would be great in 3D
For me, in my opinion, the best bosses for me is, Meta-Knight, Morpho Knight and King Dedede/Forgo Dedede, Fecto/Chaos Elfilis. Why? Because Meta-Knights fight has transitioned to 3D very well, along with King Dedede's boss fight, even Morpho Knight's fight transitioned well to 3D from 2D. Reason as to why Fecto Elfilis is here, cause instead of getting beamed to death or being unscrewed, Fecto Elfilis gets ran over by a Big Rig truck! Chaos Elfilis on the other hand, well, the second phase mostly, partially the first phase, reminds me of Nightmare and the other Soul bosses in the game
Chaos Elfilis has to be one of the best final bosses in any Nintendo game. It left such an impression that shows how good HAL Labs are at story telling/lore. The fight itself was no pushover either Mad respect for HAL Laboratory and everyone involved in this phenomenal game's development
@@jonathanreyes6373 The Colosseum, Forgo Dreams, Figurines- It's all canon! Which I think is very cool because there are so many arenas and side games that tell such a cool story.. but alas, they are not canon to the lore.. But this games different, and that's what makes it special! (I feel like I spelt "colosseum" wrong, but autocorrect *refuses* to correct me this *one time* I *want* it to)
Yeah with Chaos Elfilis, what's most terrifying is that the Soul was *conscious* through out the Morpho fight enough to reabsorb it after you beat Morpho Knight. It makes me think of a LITERAL power struggle, like the two wills have to fight while the knight *physically* fights Kirby
My favorite bosses are Fecto Elfilis, its chaos version, and the Forgo Leongar fight. Fecto Elfilis is one of my all-time favorite bosses in terms of attack and design (right up there with HOTD magician). And Chaos Elfilis is just insanity! That final phase is just incredible! Forgo Leon I only beat with Blizard ice's shield. Which, to my horror, discovered that Forgo's dark nuke attack actually can get through it! Before that I thought the shield could stop any attack! I'm actually curious what other attacks in the game can break shields? Perhaps the big meteor? Great video! Loving these! Best Kirby game, and best game I've played in awhile! Feels like Dark Souls at points!
Well with specifically the sillydillo boss fight, whenever he does the thing where he curls up and rolls at you it’ll slow down automatically, wether you dodge it or not. Altho I’m pretty sure it only happens with that attack
This is actually a quite accurate list, even though I got spoiled a bit (I’ve only made it up to the first level of Winter Horns so I got spoiled up to Silly Dillo and King Dedede
@@glimmerstantroop46321 Before I beat the game (and the extra stuff) any forgotten land videos I saw, I just saved them to a playlist so after I finished the game, I could come back to them later.
Most soul bosses use: A fireball attack (first by Drawcia soul) A cutter attack (either single volley like Marx and Sectonia soul or consecutive volleys like Drawcia and Void soul) A “paint” attack (first by Drawcia soul) A bouncing attack (first by Drawcia soul)
My one gripe with the bosses, is the fact that if you're too strong you don't see some of the good stuff. For speedruns yes it saves time, but as an experience it ruins it. Word from the wise, never use masked hammer for a boss fight unless you're doing the arena or have already seen them fight and you failed.
I think if it was my ranking, I would have placed Fecto Forgo and Morpho Knight a few places before because for both of them I didnt really enjoy the interactions with them ( I prefer Meta Knights version other than Morpho ) and place Spectral Crowline more higher for the same reason than you said, I really enjoy the fight style into the circus arena. And of course Elfilis is just insanely incredible, the song, the arena and that you have to dodge a lot of times is quite exciting !
Everything about Forgo, or Elfilis whatever you wanna call it, is basically a full blown Sonic villain and I’m honestly here for it. He feels so out of place, but not in the same way other Kirby final bosses do. It’s hard to describe.
@@sinteleon If I was a new video game character and a bunch of people said I looked like an OC from a different game series, I would probably feel unoriginal. But at the end of the day, It's a epic Kirby OC.
Phantom silly dillo has: extra Kirby bombs he first throws, a fake out cage attack if you attempt to dove by jumping, no stuns and he stops himself from rolling into the walls of the arena and the new sandstorm move. That’s what I found anyway
@@Pixelusuallytry avoiding him during the slow down when he’s rolling. Floating will not work, he’s too large. Either slide kick or dodge, and don’t get greedy with attacks during this. For the second phase just stay clear of him while he’s spinning, and attack once he’s knocked out or not rolling/spinning. If he throws his “dance partner” at you then they will follow you lightly. You can fly over them, but it is advised not too as he attacks right after the 2nd one so just keep dodging.
I like silly Dillo, he's fun and reminds me of sid the sloth from ice age so I call him sid the armadillo, but my favorite is meta knight because he's my favorite kirby character and this is the best form Edit: personally this is the worst wispy varient, I think he's cool but boring
Kirby and the Forgotten Land (2022) happens to be the very first Kirby game with the 2020 "Kirby" title font style logo that had the Seurat Pro EB typeface that can also be seen on the 30th Anniversary logo, interestingly, Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn (2019) was actually the last Kirby game with the 1999 "Kirby" font style logo that had the Helvetica Rounded Bold typeface that was first used in both Kirby: Right Back at ya (2001) and its silent pilot episode in 2000 and would be used in Kirby games from Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland (2002) to Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn (2019).
Honestly as much as Fecto Forgo kinda creeps you out just with it's appearance, the way Chaos Elfilis' soul rises, and the tour guide announcer commenting 'And here we are.' in that odd tone of voice... that's legit epic to me. Really brings a mixed sense of dread, finality, and anxiety that I'm not sure I ever felt in a game: Kirby or otherwise. That was an absolute genius moment on HAL there. You KNOW this is it. The finale. All or nothing.
It feels weird having the EX Bosses ranked with their original incarnations. Either way, my favorites are Clawroline, Sillydillo, Forgo Dedede, Morpho Knight, and Fecto Elfilis, as well as their EX incarnations.
@@daninbox i agree with you i would have done the same thing and Obviously my favorite was caos elflis it’s honestly my favorite boss in the entire seories and that’s quite the accomplishment
Lot of fun with all of them but I found wispy woods to be enjoyable. However I was kind of disappointed that unlike in past Kirby games you can't make him chard black if you burn him or finish the fight in different ways.
I’ve gotta say that phantom forgo dedede was one of the most intense, yet fun bosses I’ve ever fought. The first Dedede fight, first forgo dedede fight, and the phantom dedede fight were all fun and challenging, especially if you run hammer, but god phantom forgo dedede was on another level.
I'd take Morpho Knight out from 3rd place and put Phantom Forgo Dedede there instead. Morpho Knight fight felt really boring and kinda lazy (although the lore surrounding him is pretty interesting). And Fecto/Chaos Elfilis are top tier final boss material, too good.
I’m surprised that you didn’t talk about that you can take Dedede’s/Phantom Dedede’s hammer during their 2nd phase.(There’s a achievement if you do so during the fight at the Winter Horns.)
My favorite has to be sillydillo great fight so much personality again he’s so derpy. The final boss i love them the fight is so intense and the moves are insane for Kirby standards the true ending final boss it’s my first time fighting him he’s was very hard made it by the skin of my teeth (still wish we can fight soul forgo in the another ending but I just curious with his psychic powers and what can he do in a fight) but I am fine on what we got it was difficult but has a pattern maybe we could dlc and fight soul forgo with some character who knows it’s up to them
yea well technically soul forgo turned into caos elflis in the end after beating morpho knight so (technically) you Do end up fighting him in the end after all
@@Kurumithespiritnightmare okay plus you get something cool and broken in the end so I am okay with that but yeah this game is really great in Friday I will try watch sonic movie 2 which I will be playing on paramount plus.I really excited to watch it I heard people like it but have some critiques about it I am a sonic fan since I was 13 because I can relate with him and his friends.
@@shayneholt6846 yea that makes sense and ohh that’s cool hope you have fun watching it i’m still waiting for season 2 for high rise invasion on netflix so hopefully they release that cool anime for me too watch as i’m a huge anime fan/nerd by the way
Fun fact: Toy hammer it's the best ability in the game if u upgrade it up to max power IT'S GONNA BE INSANE does MORE DAMAGE THAN MORPHO SWORD TO MAX POWER AND WITH ATTACK BUFF LOL LIKE U CAN KILL CHAOS ELFILIS WITHOUT NEEDED TO GO TO HIS 2 PHASE LIKE OMG
This is my list: 25. Fleurina 24. Wild Bonkers 23. Wild Frosty 22. Wild Edge 21. Tortuilding Same reasons for those up above. 20. Clawroline (Not that fun of a fight I don't like bosses that hide in the background.) 19. Forgo Dedede (He was easier than his first Dedede fight that late in the game wasn't great also seeing masked Dedede again after so many times wasn't exciting. I liked the boar phase though it was a nice twist.) 18. Tropic Woods (It was just a new spin on the woods fight. Cool but there isnt much to say.) 17. Gorimondo (Its a great first boss it teaches you perfectly how the game is gonna be it's also mostly fun.) 16. Sillydillo (I like how quirky it feels it's also one of the first tougher fights.) 15. Phantom Clawroline (I like how it tricks you out with the 4 cats rather than just the 1 it's cool.) 14. Phantom Sillydillo (Minor upgrades but it's still fun.) 13. Wild Dedede (Its a great first encounter fight even if hes possessed again.) 12. Fecto Forgo (Its a cool sequence) 11. Phantom Wild Dedede (Cool upgraded version I like it a lot.) 10. Phantom Gorimondo (definitely harder and a fun upgrade to the original.) 9. Meta Knight (I like this fight a lot. It's cool fast paced and great music.) 8. Leongar (it's just a fun one.) 7. Forgo Leon (upgraded version of an already cool fight) 6. Fecto Elfilis (Hides in the background but it's a great fight regardless.) 5. Morpho Knight (Super fun in this game. It's nice we get a 3D fight of this dude.) 4. Chaos Elfilis (Everything about the original is improved in epic fashion.) 3. Phantom Forgo Dedede (I may not like the original but this fight really ups the ante in every way. Having the platform be wobbly and way more lava increases the difficulty by a lot. It's also really fun.) 2. Phantom Tropic Woods (Just one of the greatest designed bosses in this game. I wish more phantom versions were like Dedede and Tropic cause they were creative.) 1. Phantom Meta Knight (This is easily the most fun I've had fighting a boss in the game. He is so much fun you can even shoot him with ranger and some other abilities while he goes out of range.)
Fun fact: you can eat the spicy red blobs of hot sauce from it, spit them back and even deactivate the laser attacks! I hope you knew that while doing it.
lol actually the messed up thing is is that the fecto forgo fight was actually referencing the horror genre games like silent hill and resedent evil because hilariously one of the bosses in resedent evil 7 is literally fecto forgo in a horror game As a boss fight which having resedent evil type bosses in a kirby game just makes kirby even better in my opinion
@@Kurumithespiritnightmare So basically, Fecto Forgo was Nintendo’s way of saying “ah you like this game franchise and this game franchise that are completely different so we’ll just mesh them together to see what you think”
My top 3 favorites are Forgo Dedede, Elfilis and Clawroline (Not in that order, Elfilis is on top due to design and fun attacks. Although Fecto Forgo takes the cake for most horrific due to the first (?) Chase sequence fight with a thing of agonized goo
Fun fact: the best copy ability for chaos's soul is normal kirby cuz you can eat the spicy red blobs if hot sauce from it and spit them back at it. You can also deactivate some of the laser attacks by eating them.
I have a feeling that all souls beings are similar to each other and i that’s done on purpose, apparently in the Japanese text from star allies it talks about beings of “soul matter” so I guess all soul matter being have the same attacks
every single boss #1 just there all amazing all though i haven't beaten the post game lol so i,m just gonna say that there all the best bosses exept that gorrilla he just sucks he's a meh boss but just nah he's a too ez boss i want to see how well i go agiainst the powered up bosses.
My favorite is Meta Knight. Or King Dedede. Or Leongar. Or Phantom Tropic Woods. I don't really know. But I hate Chaos Eflilis. Its soul is impossible to beat. It's literally just unfair. Edit: I've just beat Chaos Eflilis, and it was actually pretty fun. All I needed was to upgrade Morpho Knight sword to the max level, stack up on 5 attack boosts, use the life up potion before the battle, use it during the battle when my health got low, and make heavy use of the Morpho Knight sword's dodge ability to avoid damage. Edit #2: I just wanted to add that Chaos Eflilis wasn't actually that hard. Its soul was actually the challenge.
@@glimmerstantroop46321 Yeah, but the Morpho Knight sword probably works better. Considering the fact that the boss moves around a lot and they have a lot of attacks you would want to be far away from, Blizzard Ice likely wouldn't work out that well. Unless you were talking about something else.
I personally like all the bosses in the game but I will say that phantom clawrolline is a bit worse than normal clawrolline now don't get me wrong I like this boss fight too but I feel s9me of her new attacks like the kunai throw on the ground and the laser cross slash attack from leon feel too slow for somebody like clawrolline
Chaos elfilis is not the Best, morpho knight is Cooler than a white rat that turns into a BALL, dude, thats so lazy, why every secret boss is a fricking ball? And the voices that can be heard are his worst nightmares, because he heard those words for years but i have to say, phase 1 is fire, it's amazing, phase 2 ruins it a little bit but it's Alright
Did you know: you don’t have to fight meta knight with the sword 🗡 ability in the colosseum? If you do an attack on the sword in the ground, it will bounce away and you can’t access it anymore.
**loses copy ability on same frame Forgo Leon is defeated** "Oh dang thats not gonna be good" **Butterfly shows up** "Man i regret accidentally spoiling myself when looking for the basic boss theme lmao this would've way more surprising. Welp just gotta get my ability back once the battle starts and-" **Cutscene despawned the Copy ability** "OH NO" And that's the story of how Morpho Knight became the first and only boss I've ever beaten without an ability of any kind.
Congrats to Hal Labs and Nintendo for putting up my most favorite boss battle is the entire Kirby franchise, Fecto Forgo, I don't really know why he is my favorite boss, maybe I am good with chase scenes or it has one phase or how intense the music is, but he was always one of my favorite bosses ever. But one question I have is: What is the purpose of killing gods of death? Because Fecto Elfilis is a god creature that is trying to make you pay for killing his different forms? But congrats to Hal Labs and Nintendo for the invasive Fecto Forgo. It is not the Larva it is the creepy one with the Fecto Forgo Larva combined with many beast pack members including Leongar, no lie or doubt about it.
Dodging is super broken as long as the slow motion effect and the animation are together, you are invincible. You can go through obstacles (wonderia spaceships) and immune to all boss attacks. However, if the effect ends, shock waves can still hit you (beast pack concil clawoline quest was tedious because I would dodge a moment too early). I pretty much mastered it.
Did anyone else get RE2 remake vibes against Invasive Species Fecto Forgo? Like, it reminds me of G-Burkin Phase 5 on the train. A giant mess of bodies and/or body parts, a crawling mass of horror, a blob of rage, frustration, and anger. A mindless beast whose only goal is to cause destruction.
My favorite bosses are either meta knight, King Dedede, Gordomado, sillydrillor, and the final boss. This is also my favorite video you made. I like all your videos
Fun fact about Leongar's voice. He's voiced by Kenta Miyake, AKA Muhammad Avdol from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and most importantly, All Might from My Hero Academia.
