You should get someone to cover Mexico in a more in depth and verbal way. Edgar is okay, but he doesn’t say much or elaborate on any in depth Mexico information. Should add LeyFutMex to the Council!

There's so many people now!! Hoping we can keep growing this network and meet periodically before/after WCQ/Nations League/Gold Cup/World Cup games to talk about the state of CONCACAF as a whole. This series has helped grow my knowledge of the greater CONCACAF world, and I really hope this keeps getting bigger.

Can you please find someone else to cover Mexico over Edgar? Dude seems so disinterested its actually kinda rude. CRC is a great addition to the council, i'm not a Costa Rica fan but its interesting to see things from their perspective and gain an understanding of how they managed to change things around.

Love this type of council! So happy to see you all coming together to discuss. One thing I hope to see you all address in the future is the fact that Concacaf remains very UNDERREPRESENTED AT THE WORLD CUP. Despite producing more teams that are at a world cup level, we still only get 3.5 spots at the world cup. That's only 10% of the teams. Meanwhile Europe gets 13 teams or 40% of the spots. With the World Cup expansion in 2026 to 48 teams, most of those new teams should really be coming from other confederations besides UEFA. With Canada now a true contender, why is it that teams like Costa Rica or Panama now have to get the axe? We also need teams like Jamaica and El Salvador to finally get to a World Cup. I believe Concacaf has at least 5 legitimate teams that can compete at a world cup level TODAY: Canada, USA, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama. AFCON gets 5 teams, we deserve that too! I believe media needs to start talking about this to force FIFA's hand to give us a fair seat at the table.

One point of clarification. The US has a magic number of 4 points to qualify top 4, not necessarily a 4-pt window. A loss or draw by Costa Rica in their first 2 games drops them below 24 max points. Which would then mean if the US beats Panama, they are in regardless of other results. Beating Panama also puts them behind the US regardless of other results. It is not hyperbole to say that game in Orlando is the biggest the US has played since Couva. Thanks Gregg.

Im actually REALLY looking forward to the Costa Rica vs Canada game. We know Canada is for real, but that game is going to really push them, and it will be a good test for them to play in a truly hostile environment, specially againdt a CR team with EVERYTHING to play for. As a neutral that should be a hell of an entertaining game, specially if Canada is able to go down there with its full strenght team.

Pete, I must congratulate you. Both Rogelio and Eddie were great additions. Both have a good combination of knowledge and passion. And apparently, rivalry too. Only concern is that because we are covering 6 nations (vs. 4), we have traded depth for width. Still, the format is strong, and I hope it comes back not only in March but also the next time a Gold Cup rolls around. Or the Nations League finals.

Fantastic format Pete, really brings out all the drama afoot. From me as a Canadian I'm rooting for USA, there's no better rival. Great comments from everyone showing passion, thrilling for Canada, terrifying for everyone else.

I have re-watched this video a bajilion times in the past few weeks. My hype level for World Cup Qualifiers is off the charts. There is lots of drama to be had amongst all the confederations, but CONCACAF, CONMEBOL and CAF are easily the most dramatic out of the bunch. Although UEFA sure is giving them a run for their money with a lot of pre-window drama. Needless to say, March Madness is going to live up to its name this time around.

We don’t need to be flexible with our game style we need to be ourselves that’s how we got here in the first place Panama wasn’t even supposed to be in this position to begin with. Can’t ask more from the coach he’s squeezing everything he can out of what we have and we have our destiny in our hand. our mental fortitude has been strong we came back and won in 3 different games being down on the score we choked in 2013 but in 2017 we won at home our last game and made the World Cup the payers mentality has been different ever since

As a Canadian. If we can a 5-6 point window I will be happy. I actually would like our team to get socked in the mouth and have a bad loss next window, just so the team can learn to regroup after a lose and come back stronger. Thankfully we have a big enough lead that a 5 point window will still allow us to get 1st in CONCACAF and hopefully put us into Pot 3 for the World Cup.

That last Panama vs Canada game is going to be something else. Panama might need the win to ensure they clinch the 4th spot, and Canada is looking to secure its spot in pot 3 for the World Cup and will be looking to end the hex undefeated, so you know they won't give an inch. That game is going to be a fight.

What happens if Canada loses the next 3 games? Just asking , trying to figure out a way that the race to qatar can get more interesting.

If we get in. We gotta hope pete can put together a Group council AND a CONCACAF council

I am just at the point where Pete says that USA has never won at Azteca, and he is partially correct if he is talking specifically about World Cup qualifiers. However, USA has won at least one friendly at Azteca. I would say winning as possible, but let’s not forget how intimidating that stadium is and how loud those fans can get. We might get some help if they still have Covid restrictions, but it’ll still be tough.

Include the Costa Rican commentar more often he seemed very knowledgeable

US gets a tie vs Mexico , they will beat Panama and quaify , we lose to Mexico and still beat Panama ... I will be worried, getting a tie in CR will be very difficult. Unfortunalety GREG in my opinion he has caused us points during this WCQ.

This qualifying cycle has been nuts... who would have predicted Canada would finish 1st after having its first appearance on the last round of WCQ since 1997, and who would have expected the USA scrapping it out with Costa Rica and Panama for 3rd and 4th place at the last minute?

I'm Panamanian and I like that Rogelio guy, but he's dead wrong if he thinks that Panamá has a tougher game at home against cellar-dweller Honduras than Costa Rica visiting a tough El Salvador team that's played well in the Octagonal. Even the Costarrican guy looks more confident and his team's been playing like crap. Panamá will finish 4th and make the World Cup.

The US have never won at Azteca or Costa Rica. And Berhalter has been winless in the 2nd matches of the windows. The home match to Panama is the 2nd match. He will have everything to prove in 6 weeks.

The council is great, but you really have to bring a die hard Mexican El tri fan/YT analyst. As a Mexican American who grew up watching el tri what made me a USmnt fan was the 08 performance and getting away from the ARROGANCE of the Mexican federation and die hard fan base. They 100 percent believe they are a top 3 team in the world.
