Putting justin over dustin is wild, i know he won the rematch but dusting has still done more and did way better against khabib and charles

Perhaps, but at this point Justin is pretty much on a par with Dustin now. After he lost to Charles I wrote Justin off as a rote brawler who wouldn't be a top contender for much longer, but for me he has somewhat redeemed himself in his last two fights, even if he never wins the undisputed title.

I would put RDA over Dustin and Gaethje any day of the week. Guy fought all the killers, held gold, defended it and the list goes on and on.

I would put RDA over Eddie, Dustin, Justin. Beat prime Pettis, Cowboyx2, Benson, Nate. His performance against Pettis was the most dominant LW title fight ever and as a bonus NEVER ducked anybody

I know, why is this guy dismissing title wins and defenses. Just because MMA was at a different level back then doesn't mean their accomplishments should be discredited. This list is a joke. If you are not winning against top level during your time, then you shouldn't be on the "greatest lightweight of all-time list".

It's not really about the recency bias, rather they have more notable names on their resume and they fought in a era where lightweight was at its golden age. Respect for the legends, but the sport has evolved and athletes have evolved with it

I agree with competition 110% but that is always going to be the case as the sport continues to grow so will the talent but in saying that its not like Bj wasnt fighting the best in the division for the time. As for dominance I think they are quite even its just Khabib left while he was still on top while Penn hung around for far to long

Frenkie edgar is HIGHLY overrated. He maybe was at the top during his era. But there are like 10 fighters who never became champion who are better than him

It takes more than skill to become champion, and Frenkie had that, on top of his skills wich are nothing to scoff about. That's why he became champ, beating Penn more than once, while the 10 fighters didn't.

You can’t put poirer and Ferguson on here and not have Conor. Conor actually held the undisputed title and won 15 consecutive fights to get there. Don’t get me wrong I love Poirer and think he’s top shelf, but the rankings are a bit weird considering you listed 2 interim champs and not McGregor. Edit: Forgot you also had Gathje who also has never had undisputed gold. 💀

To be honest, for as much as you could make an argument for him being one of the most talented fighters to have competed in the division win, lose, or draw - I couldn't put him in based on his numbers. Not even an honourable mention. Perhaps that will change in the future. Who knows.
