Xabi - Correct lob and minimal power on the ball swing Gerrard - Great Curve with power and speed Beckham - Executes all of the above accordingly in his passes Pirlo - The ball is like a remote controlled plane and flies itself to its target.
When Pirlo shots his left foot is planted in the grass, his right foot stops when touch the ball and his body bounces back to release the excess of energy. It's like playing pool.
@@mihaia8119 you really haven't seen him playing then He didn't do the hard WORK OK But when it needed he didn't even hesitated to tackle DIRECTLY He was good while playing at milan too And when did pogba became an engine midfielder when he himself needed such a player around as he leaves spaces while going forward Pirlo in his prime was 👽 Just see before saying this Gerrard was good at long balls but in case of pirlo the just had to touch the ball in the air with his feet and boom!! He gets a goal Just watch it JUST WATCH IT !!!!!
Xabi Alonso is my all time favourite. Can you imagine having ability to make box to box long passes with high accuracy and high consistency, and doing that for 3 major clubs?
Beckham..after watching all of these players play live. Beckham was something else. He was more accurate and his left foot long balls were very surprising seeing his right foot accuracy.

Alonso for me but all were amazing. Honourable mention for Zico, Platini, Rui Costa, Matthaus, Scholes, Seedorf and there are probably others who deserve some love

@@aaa741 hahaha, what a joke, that overrated midfielder who couldn't win sh8t with such a strong national team, mind you that Greek won the euros in 2004 , but England didn't. Xavi schooled scholes in the ucl final of 2008 and 2011.
@@thewolverine7516 the evaluation of players does not count on the titles of their national teams or clubs. There are statistics specific to the player on the individual level. If you believe in titles, you can say that Giroud is better than Cristiano Ronaldo because Giroud won the World Cup and Cristiano did'nt
@@ujwval Kroos average from 2010-2019 in long passes is 92%, only Xavi is higher than him. Put some respect in his name, even Xavi called him as his successor and you rarely see Xavi praise a Real Madrid player, let alone call him his successor
@@-Tony-Gunk- Kroos is good but he doesnt belong to the elite group of Alonso,Pirlo,Beckham,Xavi,Seedorf,Scholes,Gerrard in Long Passing if I'm not wrong. Even Totti is a better long passer ( I bet you won't agree as he plays up the pitch) Kroos might belong to the List of Carrick, Roberto Carlos, Giggs (in his later years), Shweinstieger,Busquets, Modric, Mascherano, Terry
But I agree in terms of long passing he don't belong there, yet he is so far the best long passer in the world of his generation, perhaps footballs has evolved, and most teams has coped well with aerial space defending.
Is there anything Gerrard doesn't do incredibly well? Half his goals were screemers, he was an aggressive player when it comes to duels in the midfield, and he was an amazing passer of the ball. Fun fact: Gerrard even has more assists than Pirlo with slightly fewer games played
@@7gunner619 you're kidding right? Scholes should have been included in this but Gerrards long range pass accuracy career average was 88%, vs Scholes 83%. Sick of people underrated Gerrard by any and every means necessary because they cant handle the fact he played for Liverpool
Maybe because of the donkeys Gerrard was playing with for years. Xavi and Pirlo have consistently had world class players around them in every position, put Gerrard in those teams and he’d have done the same
when u talk about the greatest long passers without mentioning the Paul scholes s ,this comment is inevitable and definately not the last..Even Pele will also comment
Xabi Alonso without a doubt: while the other 3 might have made more astonishing, curved or powerful long-range passes, Xabi’s technique could cross the ball across the pitch with the accuracy of a surgeon, while the ball travelled juuust outside the reach of the defending player’s heads; which was deadly for opponents as they didn’t have time to readjust properly due to how useful his long balls were. All said, the 4 of them are beasts 🤙🏽

Don't forget Liverpool and Real Sociedad. Even at bayern we could see his amazing passing skills, tactical awareness and vision. I think Alonso is the best, but Gerson (1970 brazil), Willem van Hanegem, Michel Platini, Paul Scholes, Frank de boer and Jerome boateng should be mentioned, the last two for being the centre backs with the best long passing skills.
Estrictly speaking about LONG passes. Xavi Alonso. He makes the longest accurate passes. But in overall passing ability those 4 were were great, maybe Pirlo a bit over the rest.
Xabi Alonso was indispensable for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern and Spain, to give you an example of Alonso's importance, Real Madrid lost more games that Alonso missed than Ronaldo's. Man played and excelled as a single pivot, double pivot, midfield 3, and couldn't be left out out of Spain's midfield that had prime Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta. Man could play tiki taka or long balls, balls on the ground or in the air. Rafa Benitez, Jose Mourhinho, Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancellotti, Vicente Del Bosque all build around him or in spains case, had to fit him him. Man had the most accurate and lightest long balls I have seen players have. Every club dipped after he left. I am actually curious how Pep Guardiola would had evolved if he had a younger and prime version of Alonso.
Its hard because dribbling ability nulify each other with long pass. Like Pirlo being a team mate of Ronaldo Nazario. This is why Argentina 2010 didnt click. Veron was a mainly long passer while Messi was a dribbler. Messi suits Riquelme style more than Veron.
I used to be in awe of Gerrard's long range passing, but now we have TAA, Robertson, Fabinho, Van Dijk, Matip, Henderson and Thiago doing it every game.
Bro, Pirlo is able to kick the ball fast like a rocket or knuckle ball ... and He does it so smoothly and seems effortless. As proof of that are his goals against Parma, Cagliari, Ghana and Real Madrid.
Gerrard was Matthaus' successor. No one like him now. It is amazing that he is in this conversation, but this is not the only conversation he is in because of his multitude of talents.
Mario Baletelli said when he was at Liverpool he didn’t realised how good Gerrard he was until you train with him daily he can pass as good as Pirlo but he has pace and power as well
Xabi Alonso Gerrard and Pirlo were fantastic players but the best long passer of all time was Michel Platini, a pity this kind of rankings seem to assume that football is 30 years old only
@@Joshflemin opta stat since 2006, Beckham already made assist since 1994😅.. many players in 90s doesnt recorded by opta.. Giggs overall has 264 assist for MU (should be record for single club) but it doesnt recorded..
@@itsidan2770 xabi alonso was never on pirlo's level in terms of passing ability. Not taking anything away from him though, it's just that pirlo is a once in a lifetime talent
@@lambokiller99 what are you talking about? Pirlo was the better engine and a deep-laying midfielder, while Alonso was a defending midfielder with great tackles (particularly accurate sliding tackles). Alonso would ping them 50-60 meters to the foot of the player, hardly ever missing any. When it comes to long passing, Alonso got the edge.
@@KhalidTalks yeah that's true, when it comes to long passes you just can't ignore him. This guy could easily do a 60m pass on your feet, it's almost an insult the fact he isn't in this video.
You can tell steven gerard doesn't care about speed it looks like a shot, makes difficult for the receiver. Pirlo makes it so easy while Beckham does the impossible.
Pirlo is quite simply the greatest passer ever when he passes, the ball will somehow exctly fall just precisely in between thsw keeper and the ST All the striker needs to do is to touch the ball for ones 😂😂
