Madigan being half of them! I live in a great town in Illinois that actually gives us great services so I am happy to pay my property taxes since it actually is spent well.....I dread anyone who has to live in Chicago.

Trump is Federal, the federal Government has no control over Property taxes, States have some control. It is Local Governments that set all that...Property taxes in Illinois have been shit for over 30 years, thank the Teacher Pensions and uncontrollable spending from Illinois State going to crap instead of the money it should go to so Property taxes don't have to rise. If you want Property taxes to change, you need to complain to your Mayor and City Council for their spending and complain to your State Senator and Representative
Depending on the City, luckily my Mayor is Red and refuses to put money towards helping illegals, however my property taxes still suck...It is the damn teachers pension and entitled State/City Employees trying to get fat raises and benefits when that is not what Government jobs are suppose to be...It also the State too for going into so much debt because of crooked Madigan basically forcing Cities to fund themselves. Local and State issue that has been crap for 30 years.
Supporting them is the excuse they use but they are taking advantage to steal tax dollars. They are charging $20K a month for the nurses that treat the Im grants. It might actually be a shorter pay period to earn the $20k. It might be $20k weekly or every two weeks. Building owners are getting almost $1M per month on top of the rent just for being the owners of the buildings. The list goes on and on. They are robbing the city and the public is just standing watching while they do it.
@@JudithHall-pg9gf seeing that politics gets us nowhere but further and further in debt no matter what party is in power I see only two choices. Live as a slave to a corrupt system or revolt which probably would cost you your own life. I don’t recommend either but throughout history there comes a boiling point where people’s lives get so bad that death would be a blessing and that’s when people start to revolt, when everything has been taken from them and they no longer have any aspirations to live for. This is a horrid view but it’s an honest view.

You would think that the County would run an analysis that extracts ridiculous increases that would tell them something is wrong with their analysis. You can go/call but employees are….
Lies! My property assessment went up almost 100%! Even Zillow's Zestimate is $100k lower, and they tend to pad it up higher than it should be. Properties which are bigger and newer have sold by less than $150k, in the last year, relative to my recent assessment. This is a money grab! Do not reelect this guy!
And the useless libraries. WHY do we still have libraries?????? It’s 2024, not 1994…..everyone has a full library on their phone and computer. CLOSE THE LIBRARIES!!!!!!!
The pensions are underfunded. The Pandemic had people working from home leaving office buildings empty. And the crime and looting for George Floyd protests drove away businesses. Downtown used to pay most taxes but they no longer can do its being passed to home owners.
