The comment about state championships. My senior year of high school I went to the Virginia orienteering state championship. In my age and gender group, males 17-18 yo, there were two entries. The other one was a freshmen at a college where the college team was hung over and ran their car off the road three times, the third time they were unable to muscle it back onto the road. As the the only one in the group to complete the course I won the state championship dispute His start time was over an hour after mine so I didn’t know I was a shoe-in when I started, when I completed the course I found out he had no showed

I think he sees the writing on the wall in the Usman fight. He very likely doesn’t win that fight, and from there he loses all leverage. At least he has a solid amount now, and it is probably as high as it will her without taking the title from Usman.
Why is nobody throwing Thug Rose's name in any topic? She is a top tier fighter. Beating one of the greatest in Joanna not once but twice. She was beating Andrade almost flawlessly, but got caught up trying a submission and got slammed. I'm more excited for her rematch then any other fight on the 251 card in July.
Gilbert Burns has something that these others guys that are turning down fights don't an that is courage. Meaning, I know these other guys aren't scared of anyone but their scared of losing! The ufc taught these guys this business model when they bypassed #1 contenders for the biggest draw. They used to create the draw and it was the next man up. They built around the contenders so they were always familiar. Now, the common fan doesn't know half these fighters. The ones they do have retired, are on their way out or don't even want to fight
The winner of Rose vs Andrade is probably going to be Weili's next challenger (especially if Rose wins because they haven't fought). Then she will probably take on Tatiana Suarez. Valentina has Jojo Calderwood up next then probably Cynthia Calvillo. Id also argue Roxanne Modafferi has an argument if she wins her next fight because she stopped Maycee Barber's rise (who was saying she was gna be the youngest champ ever, still time for her to do that as well). Also like Roxannes story, a veteran MMA fighter who was overlooked by the UFC when they started adding women, and had went through 2 seasons of the ultimate fighter 😂😂😂. After that, the Weili and Valentina fight is the one to be made, unless new contenders announce themselves, like the signing of an Invicta champ or if fighters like Maycee Barber go on a run of like 3 or 4 wins. Valentina cant even do an Amanda and beat all the women who held the belt previously, bc she's basically the first champ bc Nicco Montano didnt even defend and couldnt make weight. If Weili beats Rose as well she'll have practically done it bc Carla Esparza isnt really in the picture atm.
In the case of Masvidal, I guess the juice is not worth the squeeze to most fighters. In the case of Amanda, the fruit is made of solid granite and ain't nobody wants to try squeezing it.
She fought Amanda the first time when she was new to MMA. The second time she beat Amanda straight up in 5 rounds, but we act like it didn’t happen. Ok fine the judges say she lost, but don’t tell me Amanda is that much better.
