A question. You said that Goldstein fired around a partition. I visited the Cave of the Patriarchs last year and I was told that the partition, including separate entrances was put up as a result of the Massacre. At the time, I believe it was "open plan". I visited both sides: the Jewish side with our Jewish guide and the Muslim side with a Palestinian.
hello, I am a Palestinian who used to live in Hebron. The separate quarters has been there for some time however the separate entrances were only built after the massacre. The partition has been there since around 1994, although something may have changed in the 15 years since I've been to the mosque. The way the massacre happened was Goldstein has armed with his riffle as his time in the IDF. There were 9 IDF soldiers assigned to patrol Ibrahimi mosque, 4 of which were late that day. The head officer on duty say Goldstein go in and since they were spread rather thin, he assumed Goldstein was a soldier on duty going into the compound to pray on the Jewish side, so he didn't stop him. Then he obviously did the massacre. That's why they built the separate entrances because it likely would've stopped the massacre.
It was a different time. The Jews were being attacked all the time in the early 90s. Goldstein was devastated his close friend's son who was murdered. He gave up his 4 kids and wife. It's more complicated than an evil terrorist. Kahane who married Goldstein(as the Rabbi 😂) was murdered 4 years prior(well 3.5) in NYC. Like the Hamas membership who've committed disgusting acts also, but it's an act of desperation.
@@Imhereforfun-jz2lu If I recall my history correctly, the attacks on Israelis (suicide bombings etc.), only began AFTER the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre and the brutal police assaults that followed. @Someoneak17 Somewhere Sharon did some good things and some bad things. His maneuvers beat the Egyptian army he built Jewish communities on uninhabited lands and he destroyed Jewish communities and that led to the strengthening of an oppressive regime in Gaza that harms both Israeli's and Palestinians.
How can these "religious" extremists claim they are carrying out G-d's will while at the same time rejecting G-d's very explicit commandments? Leviticus 19: 33-34 When a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall do him no harm. You shall treat the stranger as native among you and love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
That’s an interesting point - but it’s much more complicated than that. If you read the whole Torah, you’ll find places where G-d says and instructs to wipe out Amalek (Deut. 25:19) and to destroy the nations living in the land (Deut 7:1, Deut 20:17). This is not to condone what Goldstein did or what religions extremists do, but to understand that it’s not as simple as just cherrypicking a verse that supports a cause.

Also it might be worth mentioning that Kiryat Arbaa is a settlement that is considered illegal under international law and is a clear violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention. By not providing this detail you paint a false image about the current situation in the West Bank. The Israeli settlements in the West Bank are key to the conflict. What happens to the settlements will determine the future of Israel. Will it allow Palestinians to have a sovereign state, or will it stay an occupying power in the West Bank that practices apartheid against Palestinians?

Excellent video! You should have mentioned the massacre of Hebron's Jews in 1929 by the Arabs while the British army watched and did nothing. Many Jews in 1994 feared that the leftist government of Israel would allow history to repeat itself. Also, what makes Arabs more "Palestinian" than Jews? From 1948 until 1990, West Bank Arabs were considered JORDANIANS: that's why the West Bank is called the "West Bank," because the Jordanians considered it the West Bank of JORDAN.

You failed to mention so many facts that change the entire narrative of this story. It’s a total shame that a decent young man like yourself would defend a terrorist and justify his actions on camera like this. Your ancestors’ legacy deserve better than that. Here are a couple of facts: 1- that terrorist lived on an illegal settlement on stolen Palestinian land, its not a “jewish neighbourhood”. It’s a colonial settlement. 2- after the shooting the army closed the gates and refused the injured worshipers medic attention which caused more deaths. So your whole piece on the government reaction is propagandaish and a simple research from any logical viewer will uncover it. 3- where’s your analysis on the trauma Palestinians carried after such heinous terrorist event? You didn’t even brush up on it for a little bit credibility. Where’s your heart? Where’s your “journalistic integrity”? Fam, beware, a fascist system holds the seeds of its demise within. I used to debate the conflict in the Middle East with my father and a circle of politically active friends around the time of the latest intifada. It was a new issue back then and though most started from a steady base of preexisting concepts, it took us about 5 or 7 years to finally stop talking about it, altogether. Following a protracted period of lessening interest. Because there was nothing left to talk about after a while. All theoretical routes were explored and they all came to a set of conclusions that pretty much covered every identifiable sociopolitical agenda. If it took a handful of "outsiders" a few years to resolve the whole question, it shouldn't have taken much longer to the people in the thick of it to realize as much. To the extent that neither side employs any of the means available to it in implementing any of the clear cut options that would, from a political standpoint, resolve the conflict, either through critical escalation or decisive de-escalation, they're both responsible for maintaining the instability and both should burden the actual cost and actually both societies have proven over more than 70 years now that they'd rather pay the cost of dragging this on rather than going for a decisive breakthrough towards any conceivable direction... That the rest of the world would have to be dragged into it, along with them...of course they will! We are all human beings, after all... After all there's a bunch of hot spots around the world that might sprout a conflict that might spark out of control, at any given time, causing immense destruction on a global scale. And every local community is trusted with containing those conflicts. Because, for reasons practical even if poorly understood, the international relations scene is still pretty much governed by a law of the jungle where if your community is mature enough to cause trouble, they're also mature enough to handle it.
Palestinian here. I appreciate you took the time to think of any and all routes to a peaceful end.
