The Hittites were an ancient empire mentioned frequently in the Bible, more than 50 times. But they were not known from secular records until the late 19th century. So, who were the Hittites? And where did they come from?
📺 In this Episode:
The Hittites were renowned for their skill in building chariots and also for being the pioneers of using iron instead of bronze in their battles and warfare with the Israelites. What is really surprising is that one of the trusted and elite soldiers of King David of Israel is a man called Uriah the Hittite. Now Uriah’s story is one of the most famous references to a Hittite in the Bible, and it is found in 2 Samuel 11.
It is recorded that while Uriah was away fighting in the king’s army, King David saw Uriah’s wife, Bathsheba, and desired her. So, after their dalliance, King David deliberately has Uriah placed at the front of the battle where he’s sure to be killed, and after Uriah the Hittite’s death, King David marries his widow Bathsheba.

American college students in the 1880's unknowingly tagged the Heti people of Hatusa with the name Hittites. In fact the Biblical Hittites had absolutely no relation with the Heti people's. The Hittites descended from Mizraim from Ham while the Hati descended from Heth.

I think he is confusing the Hatussa of anatolia with Chet of Canaan because Chet is mispelled Het in English. I am somehow convinced that the Hitties of Hattusa (Turkey) are the present day Khazars, who ultimately became part of the present day Jews. Hitties of Hattusa (Turkey) should not be confused with the Chet who were Canaanites (Black).

Uhhh....if the flood is true....what's more curious than who the hittites were...is who the indigenous native americans were descendents of....and how did they get to America since the flood supposedly killed everyone but Noah and his family.....did native Americans swim to the new world and Cuba? It brings into question the flood story/myth....especially since we can date native Americans to over 12k years ago. ..we have burials in America as old as that at least

Thank you for your thoughtful questions. These are complex issues that many have pondered. The Bible doesn't provide all the details, but it does offer some insights: Firstly, Noah built an ark. Meaning mankind had the knowledge for ship building at that time already but furthermore, we know that the icecaps were larger and the sea levels were lower and hence it has been suggested by many experts that there were "land bridges" between countries. Concerning Native Americans, the Bible teaches that all people are descendants of Noah's family (Genesis 9:19). After the Flood, God commanded Noah's descendants to fill the earth (Genesis 9:1). The Tower of Babel account (Genesis 11:1-9) describes how God scattered people across the earth. This could explain how various groups, including ancestors of Native Americans, reached different continents. Also, in ancient civilisations such as Chinese, their written character for what we call a boat is made up of a number of smaller characters, including the number 8 and mouths, which is a way to say 8 people. This is a rather in depth topic and surely this short exchange of words will not do justice to the topic. I believe if you are seeking truth, you will find it. God bless
