As soon as I saw the reveal trailer for SF6, the atmosphere of the game alone had me convinced that C.Viper was gonna be in the game. Was very shocked that she didn't even make it to season 1 dlc.
Twelve is actually my most wanted returning character. He feels like a in-universe Darkstalkers character, and I really adore that. I also think him being able to turn into your opponents character, for a Level 2 super would be pretty dope. I’d main him, just for that.
He has been missing in a game just before the events of SF6 so it's nothing new. They know how to change the roster this time around compared to back then and I think they will use this opportunity to change the roster and story up for once. At best; Bison will only have influence with the story but not directly as himself.
Akira was dumb, basically everyone that came out at the final 2 years were desperate characters that weren't even supposed to come out, they needed money because ono was slacking
There needs to be a good character diversity if nothing else as much as I like the chance of either Dudley & or Balrog returning that's not gonna be the case especially if we're just going off on the popular choices here which is not always true. I could see the likes of either Sakura,Sagat,Adon,Menat,Hakan,Elena,G,Rufus,C.Viper,Laura,Seth & El Feurte coming back for they fit that narrative as I mentioned, not only that but also in world tour mode which is a possibility for new stages and movesets for the custom avatars.

Not only is Makoto so damn unique but she skipped 5 and was like number 2 or 3 in an official popularity poll. I can't see her not returning though it might be a long while.
Prior to the 'Street Fighter 6 Showcase' in April, I had expected Laura to be included in the Year 1 pass due to her popularity - akin to how Juri was included in the base roster. The fact that Ed was chosen instead (despite him being one of the least played fighters, mainly due to being seen as low-tier) as SFV's representation (alongside Rashid, who was all but guaranteed to appear anyways) is mind-boggling.
Laura would have been a shoo in if they didn’t decide that Laura was Sean’s sister. Made it harder for them to decide the popularity based off SFZ ONE TIME SHOW. Laura fans could be simps and Sean fans could be trying to hard sf player, which sells more? At this point, I’d wager on Sean if they did improve him because he was winning tournaments, following Ken’s footsteps.

I feel like I think Karin Kanzuki might be FIT in for Season 2 DLC of SF6 after Ed released in January or February or March AND Akuma released of the last in April OR May of-course. But still, I want Karin returns like three times like "Haaaaaaa! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!🤭".
At this stage, I played SF6 enough to learn the game and be competent enough in it, problem is; none of the base characters interest me. don't get me wrong; they are fun to play but when they aren't your mains.. it just feels different. Here's hoping that my main and my boy Vega comes back, I'd also like to play Karin and Poison in SF6. I like this list, subbed. keep it up!

12:33 he was bad not only because a lot of his thing didn't work but also mostly because zoning wasn't a thing in sf3, you could parry fireball and just build meter and jumping in wasn't as risky as in other sf because you have a mixup between attacking or parrying during your jump
I really hope more 3rd Strike characters come back. Because like, logically it makes sense. Canonically, doesn't the timeline of Street Fighter go something like SF2, SF4, SF5, 3rd Strike, SF6 if I'm not mistaken? So many of them already fit into 6's aesthetic, art style and vibe given that 3rd Strike already has a similar vibe. I feel like some of them would fit perfectly into the gameplay. And if I'm not mistaken with the timeline of SF, they would absolutely make sense to come back given that they were the most "recent" stars. Yang and Yung, Sean, Elena and Makoto are the ones that stick out to me the most, they just feel like they'd fit the bill to a T to come back in 6. And I hope they do, the 3rd Strike cast in any way is a W, most of them deserve a runback and returns.
I wish for: Ibuki, Geki, Balrog (Vega), Sodom, Rolento, Maki, Cody, Poison, Lucia, and Eagle. If you picked up a pattern on those characters, congratulations! Basically, I wish for any/more armed characters. There's only Lily and JP. Kimberly _technically_ uses spraypaint as a weapon, but I still consider it hand-to-hand. A.K.I. has a "claw" but it's more of a tool than a melee weapon. ...and I'm basically just a filthy casual that wants more weapons for my World Tour character.
If sean comes back, i don’t want him to be shit. I want him to parallel Luke, where they’re a kinda shoto. Give sean some of Ken’s moveset, give him that basketball taunt, and make it fun
Capcom's vision of Sean is Luke. They share multiple normal animations, the tackle, and Luke's OD follow up called Slam Dunk. Returning after being used as a template for Luke is a waste of time.
Not necessarily Luke's tackle is a super and a command grab, Sean's tackle is a grab that can be blocked strangely enough, Luke does have Sean's old uppercut dunk move from Second Impact but by Third Strike Capcom already took it away from Sean in favor of his crappy two handed uppercut, Luke has a projectile while Sean doesn't however Sean should be about to beat fireballs if he uses his roll or wheel kick, there's slight similarities between the two however Luke was clearly made to replace Sean and be a all around character also similar to Ryu however Sean is suppose to play more, all in, aggressive as he doesn't have a projectile and Sean needs to get up close to his opponents to get a hit. Despite Luke being inserted into Street Fighter to replace Sean as a next generation fighter I think Sean both from his gameplay and his short story will always be in some way mentioned going forward at the very least, since third strike has gotten a lot more love than when it initially released.

You see that with G and Q. Marisa and Shen Woo from KOF. Manon and Elena. Dan and Ryo from Art of Fighting. Necalli and Wolverine. The argument isn't "they are the same characters with the same gameplay". No, just go to training mode and hit buttons. There's clear similarities. There's no reason for them use Sean as a template for another character and expect him to return.
Hakan has a brief cameo in the USA city portion of the game in world tour on one of the billboards, so he could potentially be in the game based on that.
Well I can't deny that that logic tracks. I wouldn't mind her returning its just that she's got so much competition for a dlc spot I really doubt she'll return over other characters, especially popular characters who didn't make it into sfv
Hugo won’t come back for one simple reason: he’s too big for SF6. The game already has issues with characters clipping into the larger characters during some animations, and with Hugo it would be a constant issue. I can already imagine Cammy using her grab on Hugo and watching her legs swing through his shoulders while her upper body disappears into his model. The devs would need to carefully go through each animation in the game to make sure it doesn’t happen, which is way more work than he’s worth.
Glad you put my girl Sakura in guaranteed! Tho I wish you went more into further detail on her. Still I’m glad you put her there cuz you are absolutely right! Sakura is insanely popular to the point she won the 35th Anniversary poll and is one of the best received returning characters in 5. Ain’t no way Capcom is leaving her out.
Maki is from Final Fight. It's somewhat possible she could come back. I have a sneaking suspicion we'll have a pass in the future that has Final Fight focus since Metro City and FF characters are all over World Tour.
High probability that the more popular SF3 characters, who are active in the timeline just before SF6, will return. Dudley, Urien and Makoto are almost guaranteed. Sean seems highly likely since he has been lurking in the story modes of both 5 and 6 and fits the vibe so well. Oro and Alex both have strong contingents who would like to play them. The others are more of a crap shoot. Remy could very cool if he actually works. I like Hugo but would rather see Mike Haggar finally make the cut. And I beg to differ on Necro. My life won't be complete until I see Dhalsim vs Necro matches. Elena, well, not so much.
i'd like Remy back if only because the idea of a more agile charge character in the vein of KOF charge rushdown would be an interesting niche that they could tweak him to fit. i know Dee Jay is KINDA that? but Remy would be a welcome return after getting a single game to his name
Also the he is currently the only slim male character in SF, even Jamie is buff. I think it would be cool to have him even just for that especially when SF6 started making each characters' muscle mass more different from one another.
Damn, I live for this theory speak shit. I predict Makoto as guaranteed. Most people like her, and many people love her, and she has historically been very popular as a character. I Disagree 100 percent about Necro and Sim. Also, no more final fight characters. Pass the torch to a new generation. Also, HELL YEAH SEAN!!!!!
yeah that dhalsim/necro take was prolly my scrubbiest take to date I just had to keep it in lol. I'll lab the matchup one of these days... and yeah I'd also like to see some other crossover characters, having akira in sfv was really cool. It would be nice to see characters from other capcom fighting games, its not like they have a shortage of IPs to pick from

I think the key factor is how many seasons the game lasts for. If it goes for long enough then the more obscure picks become more likely just because they need to fill the slots with someone. I think it would be cool if they eventually come out with Super Duper Mega Ultra Street Fighter 6: Arcade Edition: Complete: Ultimate Plus Alpha which just has every character from every game (except the Arika ones which they probably don't have the rights to) in the series.
Most likely 3 seasons (the current one + 2 more years of support), unless some internal issues arise and force Capcom to extend its lifespan like they did with SFIV and SFV.
I really am hoping to see Q again. This character has so many unanswered questions and possible ties to other fighters that even if you keep him a mystery, I'm sure his gameplay would be amazing to include as this unforeseen force.
I think Bison is definitely coming back. F.A.N.G seems to be looking for a way to prepare for his return. Jp also seems like someone who's just a guy taking place of power until someone with more dethrones him.

I personally think Balrog and Vega coming back would be less likely because of the story. JP is less likely to recruit the high ranking henchmen of the former leader. As for El Fuerte and Hakan they are two grapplers who gives us something different from Zangief, E. Honda and T. Hawk. Even with Manon they can still add more variety with their moves. And finally I have to disagree with Adon. I rarely heard anyone being annoyed by him. Rufus is understandable, but a lot of SF4 vets loved Adon. Seeing him with some interesting character development could appeal to a lot of old and newcomers. But I wouldn't mind Sagat coming back either. He's most likely gonna be pushing pass 50 with a beard rivaling Kratos. That would be epic.
@@clvago True but Ed did leave on his own and although Balrog does care for him he is the type of man that would respect Ed's independence. As for Vega you might be right. He is an assassin and it would make sense for him to look for other clients since Bison is dead. That means there could be a situation where Vega could run into Juri or A.K.I.
Bison has been killed multiple times in the comic series and the games, Bison ALWAYS comes Back. The sooner people realize that is canonically part of his lore, people Will start accepting that bison Will always be in every sf game
Seth, Rolento, Elena and Makoto needs to come back... i think I just want there to be final fight characters in the game, not having any in spite of world tour recreating the entirety of that game in the Metro city hub feels really bad. Cody and poison are my favs in the past but i would really like Sodom to come back or to have Haggar actually in SF as a playable character finally too

I would love to see violent ken come back instead of having an evil ryu, with some relevance to the story with JP and ken losing his mind as a "what if" kinda like how evil ryu was in sf4. They should make violent ken like how ken was in older games without him needing to run to get flames on his special moves, it would be so cool

Yeah I'm a little less confident in Dudley showing up now, but only a *little*. Seeing how all the characters have evolved significantly, with all of them receiving new moves, mechanics, or even total overhauls (Ed, Dee Jay), I wouldn't be surprised if Balrog and Dudley still showed up but with some new special sauce. Could just be cope tho haha
I think they want to move away from the characters boxer, clawed assassin and dictator for a while because of the confusion with their names in the tournaments, and maybe in a few years from now, when people forget about them they'll reintroduce these characters with their Japanese names in order to avoid confusion.
IMO A major factor for if chars come back is really about what is their potential for character development and ability to fit within world tour. Sean, Karin, R.Mika, Sakura, Laura, etc all have tons of potential to drop some surprise redesign. Imagine Karin as some CEO boss lady that buys part of metro city for example. Entertainment is surprise and who's going to be hyped for Vega or Oro to come back? Not until they get into the twilight years of SF6 and it's just fan service at that point when nobody expected them. I think elements of characters that can't change (e.g canonically dead) will just be put into new character redesigns.
I wonder if character pass 1 is the standard ie. 3 returning fighters and one new fighter. I don’t hate it personally, since I think reintroducing older fighters with a new kit/addition(kinda like deejay) basically makes them new characters in a weird way so I think it balances it out.
Man i would LOOOVE to see sean a shoto mixed with Mashida jujitsu , a shoto with 1/2 cool comand grabs would be so cool. that's just an idea personally i would like to see mixing a bit of shoto with Laura's gameplay and making a new flavour. That would be soo good

Elena and Gill are Highly Likely. Elena is a favorite among Sf3 Vets and casuals back in 4. Gill was overshadowed in 5 and if they're bringing back Alex. They should add Gill as Alex's arc involves the Illuminati/the organization Gill is leading
Rolento have one of the Best Gameplays and kits,his unpopular but His Character itself,Theme and Gameplay makes him a great DLC Who gives a Damn about Rolento? Actually a lot of Poeple but not enough to make him one of the most popular
