Akuma is out in a few days along with the new patch, after that? Its a brave new future for Street Fighter 6. Naturally SF6 is gonna be around for years and years to come, so there's gonna be WAY MORE DLC CHARACTERS! So thats sorta the premise here, who are the characters most actually likely to appear. I know you might scream for eagle and remy but realistically? probably not. Based on popularity and trends some chars are more likely than others, let alone the appearance of successful rebrands or all new characters, so lets talk about it!
My top 5: Gil, Gouken, Vega, Eleven, Dudley. If it was a new character, it’d be cool to see them do something with Violent Ken… or have someone who can wield both the Power of Nothing and Satsui no Hado.

Yeah, I've never really liked the idea of that in general. It's weird that we clowned on Combofiend for the "functions" thing all those years ago, but the "we already have that" thing follows that exact same logic. There's nothing stopping developers from giving similar archetypes a unique and different feel. Plus, they're just neat.

The thing is, shotos are popular, and easy to make with a few differences (Ryu, Akuma and Sakura have similar moves but different gameplay); but let's say that we have two Bushin Ryu characters in a game (Like Kimberly and Guy), I don't really know what they could do to differenciate them ? Their core moves are way too hard to modulate compared to like fireballs and DP's (at least I think so) Ibuki still has a chance because even tho she is a ninja, she is completely unique, no other character plays like her
shoto with a tiny difference becomes a wildly different character, we already got a tricky rushdown ninja who uses a resource based mechanic. If you can make a ninja that winds up being completely different, go for it.
My only actual prediction for a returning character is Falke. In World Tour, Ed mentions that she's off investigating JP's activities, but this isn't followed up on in either World Tour or Ed's Arcade story. Having her return from her mission later on would be a good way to introduce her to the game. Mika is the number one character I'd like to see again, though. Love how energetic she is, and it'd be nice to have another grappler in the roster.
Consider the Character rebrand for Hakan... for Fang we got AKI, T Hawk to Lilly and Guy to Kimberly. There's a pattern here. Female oil wrestler. That might print too much money.
Wanted to put out something thats not just constant hounding about SF6 patch notes lol, made so many of those vids already. Like there's even more yet, like Lily M condor wind leaves her beside the enemy now so she can go like, light confirm > DR > st lp, cr hp, M wind, and then force a strike/command grab mixup on you which is big. But theres been so many patch vids lately I figure yall might want something else lol. That said its only a few days away, when the actual patch notes drop you will find no better coverage anywhere on the internet, so just hang tight a few more days!

Hugo and Abigail as a switch character. With Hugo being a grappler. And Abigail being a jack of all tools. Give him a stance, give him a run, a grab, a projectile, etc. Just scrap fighting. And then tag team Hugo huge grab, cornered, claps. Maybe do it like one switch per round. Except with the level 2 super. And you keep the last one next round. Idk I'm an absolute madlad for that opinion. But I want to see that happening.
@@rooflemonger realistically speaking we saw ken explicitly mention him in his world tour convos. And he would benefit from the timeskip forwards making him a better fighter and would probably benefit from incorporating the matsuda style into his moves. He just has a lot of potential to evolve his move set and make a interesting character out of him.
I'd really like to see El Fuerte again, partially because I legitimately liked his gimmicky play style and think it could be refined, but mainly because I'd like to see all hell break loose as people witness his return.
@MrQuay03 Ed is great, and he is my main right now, but he is not a rushdowm boxer. More of a highly technical trickster with a very high learning curve. He is definitely not rushdown with his slow normals.
After Akuma is coming this Wednesday,, my prediction Street Fighter 6 DLC Season 2 is: Karin Kanzuki, Elena, Cody, Yun, Yang and 2 new characters (South Africa and Australia).
I want R. Mika in this game, purely because I like the way she plays in 5, and also I’d like to see her interactions with Zangief I’ve seen people in the comments say they’d like Morrigan as a guest character, and that would be cool
There are WAY MORE worthy characters to return than that annoying overrated character. I even prefer Ibuki, Sakura, Karin, C. Viper and even Haggar (who is yet to be playable in Street Fighter series) over her.
After how well they handled Ed and Rashid, I’d really like to see what they would do to change up Menat’s gameplay. Besides that, though, Menat would be a big money maker as far as costume sales go! 😂
I very much wanna see Dudley, Cody, Hugo, Fei Long, G, and Makoto. Also wouldn't mind seeing C.Viper, or the Gen character, I think Gen's kit retooled into a new character has a lot of potential.
Eventhough I repeat myself: Yun and Yang sharing a Characterslot changing via stance system... Supers of course would need to be alternated ( or each of them has one Super and SA3 World be something with both combined ) Maybe not what the crowd wants but I fell in love with the idea 😊
who I feel makes sense: Makoto, Sakura, Sean, Sagat, and one slot for brand new character. who I Want: Makoto, Hugo, Poison, Q (I'll take G sure), and a newcomer from Australia.
Australia needs more fighting game representation, hopefully steering well clear of Crocodile Dundee, boomerangs, and didgeridoos. Mad Max adjacent will be acceptable I suppose.
All I want is Decapre, but that has like negative 500% chances of happening. So I'll have to sit here and feel envy of you all getting your characters.
For a close friend, I want Hakan. For me, I want one of: Elena, Viper, Sakura(basically guaranteed), Rose, Lucia(probably never coming back), Menat. And I want Bison, but with a Psycho Crusher that doesn't require a damn install to do it!
i would love to see Hugo come back and for him to work more with multi-part throws, either multiple inputs or being able to start with one throw hit two buttons get into another throw hit two or three more buttons hit another throw, i would love if they would more focus on that part of him.
There’s also a World Tour NPC who mentions Makoto’s Dojo going strong, seems like a pretty obvious hint, especially since she doesn’t appear in anyone’s special World Tour artwork, unlike characters like Sakura, Dudley, Laura ETC. she 100% is coming to this game
My favorite picks are Sagat, Menat and Gouken. Hey I like Abigail too! A character with such an emphasis on HP is unique and super amazing for me! Balrog and Rose are also up there for me!
I’m curious if they’d bring back Balrog so soon, since they seem to be giving the Shadaloo kings a bit of a breather, but I’d love to see him, especially after we’ve gotten Ed. Q would be sick too. They gave us G as some kind of setup for what Q really is, so he’s definitely on their minds.
@@EnbyVess Balrog’s arcade mode rival would be Ed and it would be the long lost father and son type of story and see who got stronger over the years. I would LOVE that! Oh, and Balrog’s KKB move needs to stay, it was so cool in V because he was the direct counter to zoners in V because of that move. Who needs jumping when you got KKB right? We need Balrog in SF6.
I have a feeling that Elena is coming back. In the avatar creator, one of the preset female characters is literally her. Tall, dark skinned young woman with white hair. It might be a hint.
I agree with this list. My personal list for highly likely returning characters is Makoto, C. Viper, Cody, Bison and Rose. Hope we will know soon! I really like to see a lot of SF3 characters return. Almost everybody except Oro, Necro, Remy and Twelve.
Now that you mention rebrands, I've always thought it'd be really funny if Rufus came back that way. Imagine if we got a Rufus successor and it turns out to be that cool dude from the concept art we never ended up getting.
Or alternatively he's another fat, fast character, but with a better character design and personality so he doesn't make the fandom cringe. Sort of like Bob from Tekken.
We already kind of have a Rufus successor in the form of Jamie who took a lot from the initial design concepts that lead to Rufus' creation, so I don't really think there's a reason to make a successor
I've never been a boxer player, but I would love to see Dudley back. He's just so cool, I don't know if I would actually play him or not but I would love to see the gentleman back at it.
Makoto is def on my personal list. i always thought she looked really cool. same w Sakura too another character i think should make a return is Menat; she has an unbelievably cool design and animations and i’d love to see how they interpret her in 6
Dudley and M. Bison, fairly convinced we'll be seeing Bison again soon too. They can throw in any other character after that for all I care, give everyone their favourites.
What are you talking about? The whole vibe of the game is more cheerful than the typical game. There’s literally color splashes flying everywhere not to mention Lily, Kimberly, Gief, Honda are all cheerful… even Blanka went from a menacing creature to a happy stuffy toy. It’s a fighting game for crying out loud… lol what additional cheer could you possibly need?
I would like to see Rose back, I feel she could shake up World Tour mode to give it more purpose again. She can be helpful in setting up new stories or finishing old stories.
I love Abigail because 1: funni 2: he's officially the point where Capcom said "fuck it we ball" 3: holy shit the SF6 muscle tech would look crazy on him
This is something people have mentioned for quite a while. I think the main reason why we haven’t got it is because side Capcom doesn’t really want guest characters in street fighter in less they are willing to acknowledge they are definitely in the same world (like final fight or rival schools).
I'll advocate for Maki and Urien. Maki is simply too cool to be locked to an Alpha game. Not only an Alpha game, but I'm pretty sure it was the console exculsive type of deal. And most people can't even purchase CvS2 legally anymore. And as you mentioned with Cody, who I also want to whole heaven, we need Final Fight characters! Lastly, Lily can't be the only one who uses weapons, so it would be cool to see another weapon wielder. Urien I honestly was surprised by the initial leak, wasn't Season 1 DLC. Just cause I feel like he was one of the stand outs from SFV, probably cause that EX headbutt was good, lmao. But I advocate for Urien just cause like, storywise, he's still the president of the Secret Society and would easily fit right in to WT. And if they wanted to expand WT, they aren't scared to add characters with unique models, so maybe a cool Gill or Kolin model could be made. Gameplay wise I NEED CHARGE CHARACTERS AHHHH. I don't understand how out of all the Fighting Games that has had DLC so far, KOF is the only one who released a Charge character for DLC. Strive has been out for 4 years and we have not gotten a charge character. Urien is perfect, I love his gameplay in 3S and SFV. Aegis Wall would be a deadly super in this game, his tackle would be a fun juggle tool. Like honestly, he just fits perfectly in SF6
I still say I would love for this next pass of characters to be All or mostly SF3 themed. Dudley, Makoto, Sean, and Hugo I would all love back in the series plus possibly C.Viper. Plus a catchy name for it I’d love would be “Return of a Generation”

He’s the most unique with the quote “Shoto” Tools in his kit, Plus the overall vibe of SF6 being more-so Hip Hop and Funk and them leaning into the “STREET” part of Street Fighter fits Sean’s Character very well. I’d also love to see how he views Ken now since Ken’s fall. Even tho he didn’t formally adopt to training Sean, You can see some of Sean’s Influence in his moves (Specifically his Lvl 3 CA with the Slam Down Punch)
I've also said for a while regarding Makoto, she makes too much since from a World Tour perspective. Picture this: the Avatar catches wind of the Rindo-kan dojo master that has spent years challenging and defeating other dojo masters and since, the popularity of the dojo has significantly grown (calling back to her Third Strike ending.) The Avatar checks it out and Makoto is more than happy to take on another eager student. The story practically writes itself, lol.
I would like to see Falke, perhaps a new character that is similar to SF4 Juri (old negative edge stuff that they deleted), Sean, and Laura return to SF6. All of those would be awesome to see and instant purchases for me!
C Viper would literally abuse the neutral in SF6. Imagine super jumps ambiguous Drive Rush Burn Kicks. Cancel-able Seismic Knuckles to bait jump-ins. And already has the animation for her Drive Impact with the focus attack
I'd like to see Hakan in SF6 as well, specifically what they would do to him design-wise. Yes, his turqoise mushroom hair and red skin is iconic, but I'd love to see him even older now, with all of his children and his super hot wife maybe in a stage background cheering him on.
I'll probably spend the rest of my life waiting to hear "SORRY IM LATE" at the start of a DLC reveal, and getting a new playable Necro. but hey, I can always hope
Im all about C Viper, Makoto, Elena and Menat. I'm not worried about Sakura not making it in, clearly. I would like R Mika and Karin but i don't think they are guaranteed. And dreaming is free with Akira and Maki 😭 Edit: I would also like Ibuki too! I loved her VT2 and CA in SFV. Every 3rd Strike character deserves a chance tbh (yes even the weird ones).
I really really hope Menat comes to SF6 at some point. I always really thought she was cool in SFV and wanted to try her but I got to SFV way too late.
I'm expecting to see Falke and Hugo soon, Falke because she's shown up in new art with Ed and the other Neo-Shadaloo members and they seem to be leaning into that whole idea more strongly this time around. Hugo because he's been featured in some of the "promos" around the city in World Tour and would also fill a Final Fight legacy slot as well as a Third Strike one, and add another big-body character to the game.
What I'd love to see is more characters coming out in groups that advance stories. Like, I want Laura to come back looking to fight Ken for having "stolen" her brother away from the family style, and Sean finally managing to stand up to her by using his own style that mixes Ansastsuken and Matsuda BJJ, which would also show his growth. I want Kolin trying to topple Urien as the new head of the Illuminati; convincing Remy to challenge him with the promise of Gill reviving his sister like they did for Nash. G leading his Army of the Earth, including Hakan, Dan, and Elena, against Ed's Neo-Shadaloo, and C. Viper seemingly playing both sides. Street Fighter is notorious for its weak central story, so let's lean into the smaller, character/faction specific stories.
