Soldier: YO MIKE TYSON Mike Tyson:
@tplaysnow

It says UFC rules, meaning the soldier staring down my opponent meaning he already proved the threat, hand on pistol (I’ll say they made a rule saying the gun must stay holstered before the bell) with 20 feet soldier can draw and fire on all of them. Fear factor would kick in, statistics say at least 1 would get startled by the first shot giving more time.
@michaeldavis4651
@michaeldavis4651 Месяц назад
Yeah, but pistols are side arms and not carried by everybody (two extra M4 magazines weigh less and are more useful); if it’s an armed soldier, I’m thinking the unarmed folks are just gonna get hosed with 5.56 rounds. 🤣
@gokuss15
@gokuss15 Месяц назад
A soldier primarily carries a rifle in a sling. No need to “draw” when your long gun is already practically in your hands.

@@gokuss15I don’t think he could draw and lethally shoot all 4 before they could cover the distance of the octagon. Cuz if even one makes it into fist range, it’s over for the soldiers

Also, soldiers can probably ready their rifle on their chest faster than a police officer can get a pistol from their hip.
@sqike001ton
@sqike001ton Месяц назад
Not really you have a safety still on a rifle where most police don't have thumb safeties they tend to add about 1/2 a second to a draw of a pistol all things considered a hater draw and a hands off the rifle sling on the chest is similar in draw times if not a slight edge to the handgun assuming you point fire as you are extending on the draw

The bell rings and the first guy is dead, the second guy is too, and the third guy has about 1/5 of a second. There was no rule that soldier dude's weapons had to be down, nor was there any rule against using his pistol to shoot the second guy at the same time. Something that is trivially easy to do when your target is both huge and standing 25 feet from you. The third guy flinches and slows down because gunshots are loud as fuck, and then he gets the Red Dead Redemption treatment except it's just one dude with a 45 round magazine he slid a Snickers to the quartermaster for.

The 21ft rule is more of a guideline not a hard and fast rule. It's over used in internet discussions.

Sellsword Arts has a video in a similar spirit. If you have a sword, and Mike Tyson doesn't, you win.
@MarcusVance
@MarcusVance Месяц назад
I honestly disagree with that. Historic accounts of even unarmored fights are full of people getting within grappling distance of a sword user. Some of those even after the person has already been injured by the sword. SSA has some great choreography, and by all accounts he's a solid fencer. But he usually looks at things through a lens of competitive sport fencing-not actual fighting. If you're interested, you should read Richard Cohen's By The Sword. He goes in depth on formal and informal dueling-which addresses a lot of misconceptions.
@farkasmactavish
@farkasmactavish Месяц назад
@@MarcusVance It sounds like a skill issue on those swordsmen's part. Those accounts are in the manuals because they're exceptional. If you have a big sharp bar in front of you, your defense against an unarmed opponent is to maintain distance and cut them up while they can't reach you, but you can reach them.
@MarcusVance
@MarcusVance Месяц назад
Yeah, sure, skill issue. However... where is that line?
@MarcusVance
@MarcusVance Месяц назад
And Richard Cohen's book is not a manual. And not every account he covers is exceptional. Seriously... he gets weirdly into just random duels

basically asking who would win in a fight? a armed warrior or an unarmed warrior? they are both skilled martial artists (soldiers and cops are trained to fight unarmed) 😂😂😂😂😂 obviously the armed warrior most of the time 😂😂😂
@chickengod9885
@chickengod9885 Месяц назад
Soldiers do not train martial arts. That consists of a fraction of their training as it would be a waste compared to training escape and evasion, land navigation, marksmanship, endurance, etc. Even then, they mainly train bayonets, knives, because that is much more likely than fist fights.
@Goldchaingarcia
@Goldchaingarcia 27 дней назад
tbf, most soldiers/police dont really receive high level hand-to-hand combat training. Maybe certain units do some mandatory training, but im pretty sure most would be off a volunteer basis (someone who reads this comment, could probably elaborate further) if they have a firearm, they're going to win. %100.

Who would win, tenno or the chaos gods of 40k, cause only warframe can match at worst or outright trounce and bounce at best (though reviewing lore this seems to be average) and i mean the operator/drifter not the frames. The frames are their own confusing mess of being sentient but also not when under transference influence.

I think I would rather have a sword or something that is harder to miss with (swing or thrust) and no ammo consumption. FYI I have won 2 gun fights with a knife.

I'm an infantryman, and I disargee. The 21-foot rule states it takes an average person 1.5 seconds to close the distance. A UFC octagon, 38 feet in diameter, would take three seconds to cross. I can ready my weapon and engage maybe two targets before I'm overwhelmed. Even with a bayonet attached, I have highly trained attackers who can quickly disarm me or render it useless, then beat me to death.
@sqike001ton
@sqike001ton Месяц назад
So it's UFC rules meaning you start face to face and I'm going to assume it's knuckles to knuckles meaning you are inside the 21ft from jump Street with more than one attackers who I would assume know you are armed and I would assume are working together your dead from the word go couldn't agree more bud

Against a regular person with a gun, sure at least 1 of those fighters could close the distance and take them down, but against a soldier who is more than likely trained to deal with multiple combatants in tight quarters the only way the fighters are winning is if one of them picks up the other and does a meat shield charge, and that’s if the soldier is using lower powered hollow point rounds
@calebbarnhouse496
@calebbarnhouse496 Месяц назад
Lmao soldiers aren't all seal team six omega CQB operatives most soldiers are somewhat qualified to hold a rifle and use it if they need to, the fact is he's not going to just enter bullet time and hit his targets head on, he's going to panic, and when these extremely athletic guys are in the octagon (5 people total so realistically they are on both sides of him as you start in corners of the octagon) there's no way he's hitting and taking down all 4 guys before one gets close enough to throw his gun away, and body armor will nor save you from a professional fighter that can hit hard enough to knock people out in one solid blow, they are going to take him to the ground then and there's nothing he can do

21-foot rule has nothing to do with recognizing a threat. In every demonstration I've seen, the officers start with their hands on a holstered sidearm and go on to show that within the time it takes for you to draw and aim the firearm, an assailant can easily make it within arms reach. There are plenty of "live" examples in police footage.
