Well, motivation in this series is rather fluid. Some characters with noble qualities fight for an evil, or at least questionable cause. The game also has to find justifications for heroes to fight each other.
@@danieldickson8591omni man only has a hero persona since he needs to protect earth for future conquering, he would have no need of that going to a parallel world
@@angelfuel7493yes, because we get to see that even though Omni Man beat him brutally for standing against Viltrumite ways, he admired his son because he fought for what he believed.
Oh Mark can be killed, since he has a human mother he's more durable than his half brother. But it's his willpower that's invincible, it does matter how strong you are but sometimes it depends on how powerful your willpower is compared to your own power
They knew exactly how to sell Omni-Man and to give Simmons the best lines to work with. That and “please… don’t hit me with WaTeR” is probably one of the best insults Omni-Man had. Bonus points for having him roll his eyes.
@@Pack_Watch Johnny can at least be mostly civil with Nolan. With Homelander, even Johnny will probably have nothing but absolute and undisguised disgust for him. In terms of moral "alignment", Nolan is Lawful Evil at worst, so he can still be reasoned and negotiated with. Homelander is just pure Chaotic Evil, and he's little more than a glorified bully who has never had to face a genuinely fair fight in his life, so there's absolutely no reasoning with him unless you can scare him into backing down. With Nolan you can find ways to peacefully coexist with him....with Homelander you can only hope he doesn't decide to kill you simply for the hell of it.
@@Multiyuppp yea talking to walls with that scrolling around the thread of this iv learned 90% of invinvible fans have never even finished the comics or show.... they know season 1 for the most part and thats simply it..... kinda sad for a *supposed* bunch of fan bois hyped and commenting on a game cross over but dont even know the show they are hyped about.....
The thing I love most about Omni Man’s interactions is that his opponents are putting it all into it. Real emotion, real venom, they are down and eager to kick this guys ass Nolan on the other hand just looks bored and indifferent. For him it’s just another day at the office.
Until the Kombatants start talking about Debbie or how he's actually conflicted on his job. *Then* you notice his voice get a bit unstable/angry, despite him still trying to maintain composure.
The dialogue between Omni man and the other Mortal Kombat combatants is pitch perfect and whoever did come up with the dialogue deserves more than a raise💯🔥
@@HB-fq9nn what you see is a hater, they ignore everything, they are self-centered bastard, their opinion matters? nope, speak more, they'll retort back relentlessly
My favorite is still the one where Rain says he can extract Omniman's power and out of pocket he hit him with "how about you extract my fist from your chest."
She didn't say she wasn't afraid of him, she said she wasn't afraid of dying for Outworld, which means that dying is something she is accepting as a possible reality.
Omniman is such a cool character. He definitely deserves to be in Mortal Kombat. And he’s already incredibly violent and brutal so he fits in perfectly.
It was meant to be what is called "self-deprecating humor" as well as make the opponent feel old but Omni-Man understands actors fake emotions to sound mature or self-aware, he then turned it around by basically saying "If I'm that old, my son could beat you, too."
How is it a self roast to say he looks like a deadbeat father that abandoned his child, which he kinda did? A father leaving isn't an insult to the kid.
@@UncleForHire Exactly. This is why I never understood why some people online genuinely use "fatherless" as some sort of insult. Like saying "fatherless behavior" to refer to typical spoilt or crazy children/teenagers. But it is more of a silly generalization than an actual insult since not all fatherless children are "untrained" or whatever. It's like saying calling robbery a "Black behavior" just because the ignorant person somehow believes that skin color is what makes someone more likely to rob or steal.
@@e-davidi.7354 mostly cause they act like they never got any parenting, its an insult to how they're behaving vs how the commenter thinks they would behave if they were parented
@@rohanthomas6629 he wasn't there to take over earth. he was there to confirm viltrimites could reproduce with humans and produce strong offspring. That's why he only tried after mark got his powers.
@@bigsoss1144 The comics. If you want spoilers, I can give them to you, but the most important aspect of his trip to earth was to see if they could make strong viltrimite offspring with humans.
@@jasonruff1270 Not exactly. He heard a creaking floor board, he knew what some supers and organizations are capable of, and he has literal millennia of experience. Like when Darkwing tried to drop on his head, Nolan heard the flap of his cape and immediately knew what that meant.
Honestly, Geras may be the best person to fight Omni-man. Not only does he come back after death, but he can control time and i believe he becomes stronger each time he revives, or at least the previous timeline's version did.
@@slavicemperor8279 I said "no effort". Just using their powers. Shao is strong af, but he's not using his powers as much, dude just wants to beat people up
I feel like the pet line is completely out of character and is based on a misunderstanding of how he referred to Debbie as a pet. (Minor invincible spoilers for those that have only seen the series) Omniman loves Debbie; it’s made more clear later that this is the case, but the show already planted seeds of this fact in the first season. The point of his fight with Mark and him crying at the end was a conflict between what he believed was his duty as a viltrumite and the love he developed for Debbie and Mark. Him calling Debbie a pet was him trying to convince himself of that just as much as he was trying to convince Mark. She has a lifespan comparable to a pet when compared to the insane lifespans of Viltrumites, and he was trying to use that fact to convince himself and Mark that her feelings couldn’t take priority of their mission, which is reinforced when he asks Mark what he will have after 500 years. He looks and sounds great in this game, don’t get me wrong, and I don’t have any major problems with the rest of his lines. But I think this specific line is a complete misstep when representing Omniman’s character.
I will never get over His jab at Rain with "😐pleez stop... dont hit me with 🙄WaTeR😐"😂 Rain gets so Salty and tries to flex but his flex doesnt impress anyone, especially not Omni-Man. Omni-Mans lines are so good in this game ❤
I like one scene where he interrupted someones wisdom because he cant platitude him to death lmao. Raiden: “With great power comes wi-“ Omni-Man: “Stop! Right there! You cant platitude me to death.”
I love how Nolan interacts with Johnny. They both hit each other with their greatest insecurities: Johnny being that he is just an actor playing at being a hero, and Nolan that he is a villain playing at being a hero, and a bad father.
He looks so relaxed and nonchalant in his facial expressions and movements when he talks. He knows he doesn’t have to try and is only using them minimum strength he needs
Ok but the thing is that if he loses any, and I do mean ANY of these fights, his boasting becomes the funniest fucking thing ever. He is so self assured, not even smug, just aware of his place above them, that if he gets thrashed it means all that shit talking was wrong and it turns out, actually, yeah, Viltrumites are apparently not that big a deal in this dimension.
Dead ass, J.K. Simmons is one of the best actors I've ever known. His range is crazy, from being J.J. Jamason to being a fucking music arts teacher in Whiplash to being a fucking God in an animated show
"You're fragile, my son is INVINCIBLE" Omni-Man has always been proud of Mark at the very start and calls him a hero, sometimes he forgot about his duty as a Viltrumite to spend time with Mark and Debbie as a beloved father and husband
@@cagnazzo82 All human beings possess qualities of corruption. Power is the key that opens the mental prison we use to contain it. The question is: if the prison bars are open, do we let it walk out, or will we persuade it to stay inside the cell?
I can. When it comes to ruthless fighting for epic stakes, no one is better suited than Omni-Man. The only issue is, when it comes to power level he should wipe the floor with most of the MK cast. But it's a game, we have to make allowances for the sake of play.
@@danieldickson8591power levels are whack and inconsistent in MK, normal fighters like Kuai Liang, Johnny Cage, Cassie Cage, and past Liu Kang all have been shown to have the capabilities of beating gods, elder gods, and titans even though most of them are just basic fighters by MK standards. If Ed Boon called the shots on what happens with Omni Man on MK, he'd probably have Scorpion beat Omni Man any day. The fact that all MK11 endings are canon means that it's even possible for Omni Man to die to someone like Kabal as long as he's in the MK timelines. The way I see it, being a high being like a god or titan in the MK universe may get you respect from other realms and god-like powers, but it doesn't make you completely invincible against just about anyone, if the higher being doesn't utilize their powers in a smart way then they could be taken down by just about anyone capable of fighting.
@@zkdelta8014 because "gods" in MK universe are WEAK ... OmniMan is planetbuster level threat, vast majority of the MK roster is street level trash ...
The last one, where he says “your heart just skipped a beat” is particularly interesting. I haven’t personally read the comics but iirc in the show, Omni-man hasn’t been shown to have X-Ray vision or anything similar where he’d be able to detect heartbeats. Is that a Viltrumite power that just hasn’t been introduced in the show yet?
I don't know why that is there, I've read the whole comic and viltrumites doesn't have any supersense, which is weird since they mention ragnars in this vídeo which is a alien species from the comics
