I hit the river in my kayak and throw the Whopper Plopper at some hungry smallmouth. Get yourself a Whopper Plopper here: amzn.to/2Pmzwtb (The 1/2oz or 90 size pac man color is what I had in this video)
So glad you’re not yelling at the top of your lungs every time you catch something. Such a refreshing change from the normal loud mouth fishermen that post videos.
I'm a little jealous of how accurate you cast so close to the bank and under the trees. I would have lost at least half a dozen lures lol. Great video!
Amazing videos sir. My son passed away July 18, 2020. We recently started watching your videos. You are the reason why we bought a whopper plopper. It worked on the first cast. I was wondering if you can catch a bass in your area and dedicate to my son "Diego Cardoza" it would mean alot to my family. Thank you from El Paso, TX.
I've never seen a guy that is so good at fishing that he has huge smallies waiting in line to be caught by him. The crazy part is this isn't the only video he's made where he's doing this. You sir, are a legend.
I have a few rivers close by that are very similar to this one, tons of big summer smallies with the occasional pike and walleye in the mix. My girlfriend doesn't understand how I can stay out for 12hrs......I guess we know how....LOL! Great job. One thing I use is a Bogo grip, two metal jaws one handed handle for the pike.
Caught 3 smallmouth on first 4 casts tonight, my first Kayak landed fish. Was a little nervous because where I'm fishing there's known to be some big Muskie. Just wanted to say thanks for inspiring me to get off my couch!..I was in between today. Can't wait to get back out.
A marvellous fishing venue with all that huge amount of water lilies and what a joy exploring the small open water patches for an explosive bite. At time 18:12 that bite was awesome. Watching these videos I relive past happy fishing memories in a similar environment in the Spanish river Bullaque: Lots of water lilies and a prop bait cast into a patch of open water…splash! a big bass snagged in the stems of the lilies and a heck of a struggle to reel him in…I enjoyed this video a lot! My favourite fishing channel indeed.
@@OhShitItsYourMom4202 keeping everything you catch is an easy way to get everyone to hate you. Don't tell me you feel good seeing ppl take bucket loads of sunfish or a chain full of bass out of public water. That's just plain selfish
I really enjoy your calm voice and no head banging music in your videos. Every year I try to learn new fishing lures and techniques on how to use them. As my 4 tackle boxes grow in to the 5 th, I enjoy it all the time. Thanks for an enjoyable and educational videos sharing your passion with me.
Where do u live? I'm from TX about as far south as u can get and we actually have a few makes and rivers that have decent smallmouth numbers. Canyon lake is the southern most lake that I know of that has smallmouth. It is about 30 miles North of San Antonio. I've had some really good Smallie days out there,
I get the same feeling of calm watching your videos as I do when watching Bob Ross paint. Honestly and I mean this as the highest compliment, you are the Mr Rogers of fishing.
Great videos. I visited Towner, ND for the first time last week, and fished the river there from the bank and caught smallmouth, walleye, and pike. What a great time, and a wonderful state. Very good visit, I hope to return and do it again soon. I hope you guys get some much needed rain.
Found this one while cooking on the grill. The topwater blow ups are awesome and heart stopping. Always love to see "chasers" following the hooked fish. That part of the season will be here before we know it. Thanks for sharing Matt. 👍
Because of you!! And That Whopper Plopper!! I caught the largest smallmouth I have ever caught! And my First ever Muskie!! 40 inches 25-30 lbs!! Thanks for the videos give good river fishing tips and tricks!!
I've noticed, and this is only a suggestion, that if I have a question about his equipment, from rod/reel, to kayak, to anchor, etc., NDYakAngler usually has answered someone else in a reply to an earlier comment. Because he has so many views, it might take a little digging, but this man is really good about sharing info....
If there’s a better intersection where tranquil and thrill cross paths I don’t what it would be. The musical sound of that water, the trill of those summer birds and the dynamo of those healthy small mouths . It’s a thrill to see them manouver in the water and rock . You are deadly accurate with that lure. I creek fished for years and never got quit that good. Thanks for a super video!
Terrific video it's action from the start super good seeing water, I can't get over how calm you are when a bass smashes the lure! It's a sign you're so used to it haha
I caught 2 smallies on the yellow "Whopper Plopper" my first day out with the "Whopper Plopper". Impressed with the way you can handle the boat and fish like that. 5 Plopper rating for this video.
smallie creek fishing is second to none in the sport of fishing haha. so addictive. they fight so hard I like to target them in the creeks on light tackle. 4 pound line and ultralights :)
Nice Brother 😁 That's obviously a low pressure river! I've spent decades floating the James River here in VA. Great Smallmouth fishing but the densities of big Smallmouth in that river are very impressive 😁😁👍👍
Really like the calmness in your videos. Hope it’s almost always like that. Also, you know to find the coolest places to fishing, makes one like me want to be there!
I thoroughly enjoyed this Video. Beautiful Fish...Big tails on those Bass. Gorgeous water...I think it would also be great swimming too. Excellent and Fun video. I thank you.!😎
Same here but I've found that probably 50% of the problem is the reel. If it's not set up just right I end up with the same troubles...but that's not to say I suck at casting. LOL. ...But I kinda do so... :)
I enjoyed watching and listening to you fish. I wish more people would take note of how fishing is done and how not to disrupt the rest of the world when they catch great sized bass.
John Shaft not sure you can say whopper plopper often enough. It’s like a catchy jingle. It’s fun to say and even more when the smallies are hammering the whopper plopper all day.
That’s true, the first time I fished this river all I caught was a little catfish and almost didn’t go back! I’ve been spending a lot of time there the last five years though, looking over maps, exploring new stretches, and finding all the spots the smallmouth like to hide. Once you know a stretch of river well you don’t have many slow days. There’s many rivers in MN that if I spent as much time fishing as I do on this one I could probably have just as much success.
