Honestly, the spell book would have been a clear giveaway in most circumstances, but the hot Marcille with the hair down managed to pass that test since she was Laios' memory. He read that book forward and back when he used it to free Marcille from the petrification.

Ironically, aside from the scarf, Laios actually had the clearest visions and most accurate Chilchuck in terms of both looks and behavior, if you look carefully those two have almost exact reactions to things and is the only chilchuck that actually looks his age. Same with senshi as well, laios is actually pretty perceptive of how his team looks and acts, unfortunately he's really terrible at remembering outfits (so am i 😔)

If anyone is interested on who's character was conjured by who: Laios: - Huge Laios - Marcille - Falin told her that her brother looked like Falin, so Marcille got shocked by how tall and masculine he really is - Young Laios - Senshi - For dwarves, tall men look a bit feminine - Deranged Laios - Chilchuck - No comment needed Marcille: - Handsome Marcille - Senshi - He was raised on a stories of evil elves killing dwarves during wartime, and this fear affects his perception of Marcille - Marcille with straight Hair - Laios - Image of Marcille when resurrection Falin left a big impression on Laios. He didn't catch details of her hair very well tho - Marcille with doodles in spellbook - Chilchuck - He was close with her actual looks because of reasons (he's into blondes), but he doesn't care about magic Chilchuck: - Child-like - Senshi - For dwarves, Half-foots look a lot like little children - One with different clothing - Laios - He is bad at remembering details about people - One with big eyes but not exactly a child - Marcille, as she is much older than Chilchuck, and can't really see him as fully adult Senshi: - Senshi without details on helmet - Laios - Because he's bad at it - Handsome Senshi - Chilchuck - Apparently, Dwarves are epitomes of masculinity for Half-foots - Dopey Senshi - Marcille - it's not shown in the show, but aside from bad kitchen utensils, this Senshi was particularly short and with exaggerated dwarven features, because those are things she remembered the most

Laios did indeed have vague memories of Chilchuck and Senshi despite travelling with them for quite a while, so they were able to differentiate them.... but he also had an impression of Marcille that was actually BETTER than the original (cold beauty, smart, composed). Really shows who he's been paying more attention to. The team preferring the handsome Senshi is the best joke in the episode. Let's see here, for the ones with reasons not stated in the episode: -The extra baby/soft-faced Laios and Chilchuck were from Senshi's memories. He's not sure how shorter-lived races age, so he still thinks of them as fairly young -The Laios that constantly talks about eating monsters and looks deranged is from Chilchuck -The Laios that's massive and buff is from Marcille. She went to an all-girls magic school and is an elf herself, so her perception of people for a long time tilted feminine. She'd heard Falin had a brother, and assumed they would look very similar, but the surprise of how he actually looked stuck with her -The Chilchuck that made it to the final round with the real one was Marcille's. Similar to Senshi, she thinks of him as seeming young, and although she does know better, it still colors her perception - The Senshi with the messed up tools was Marcille's. Overall she has a solid grasp on him, but he's slightly more stout and wide than the others compared to her taller and thinner frame - The Senshi with the more handsome face was Chilchuck's. Half-foots think of dwarves as the peak of masculinity, and appreciate it -The Marcille with the facemaxxing strats is Senshi's. Dwarves notoriously do not like elves, and even if he's not overtly bias, he grew up hearing all sorts of tales about them -The Marcille with the side braid and messed up book was Chilchuck's. This one's actually just a bit of chance; he's got a thing for blondes, so she's generally quite accurate. -The Marcille who was more solemn and had her hair down was Laios's. If they'd encountered the shapeshifters much earlier in their journey, she may have looked different. But her look when reviving Falin ended up leaving a deep impact on him.

I knew Falin said that Laios is good at it in episode 8, but the imitation of dog was so much better than I imagined. LMAO

It is heavily implied that Laios may actually be autistic, given his immense knowledge and him gushing over anything about monsters, and also his great attention towards small details

So the bashful Laios is from Senshi as dwarves thinks tall-men are twinks, the crazy looking one is Chilchuck 'cause he's freaked out by Laios' passion for monsters. The big guy is Marcille, the explaination is a bit spoilery but basically his tall-man stature left an impression on her when she first met him. Laios is the only one to have read Marcille's book, so his impersonation of her book looks correct while Chilchuck's is totally off

This is just off of my memory, but in a Daydream Hour (extras from the manga) it was revealed which copy is whose perception so I'll copy them here for those interested! Laios Perception: False detail Senshi & Chilchuck - Their personalities are actually pretty accurate, but he has no interest in equipment. Hair down Marcille - The image of her having her hair down while resureccting Falin is stuck very prominent in his mind. Senshi Perception: Babyfaced Laios & Chilchuck - He views the shorter life span races as young considering Dwarves live a long time. Human men are also considered feminine by dwarf standards, and Marcille thinks this version of Laios looks like Falin! Chad Marcille - This surprised me a lot! Apparently Senshi has some long engrained prejudices against eleves from when he was young. Chilchuck Perception: Crazy Laios - We can sort of see this in Chilchucks imaginations from the previous episodes, he views Laios as a bit manic. Shiny Hair Marcille - Chilchuck is canonically into blondes lol. He doesn't have much interest in magic though. Chad Senshi - To halfoots, Dwares are very cool and mature looking. Marcille Perception: Chad Laios - Before meeting Laios, Falin told her how they looked similar, and so she was shocked by his masculinity. Even though Laios is very particular about looking clean cut (there are some extras that explain this for spoiler reasons), this is the image she has of him. Innocent Chilchuck (this is the one who was sitting on boxes) - Even though she knows he's a fully fledged adult, she can't help seeing him as a bit childish. Still, her perception isn't as warped as Senshi as she knows Chilchuck better. Senshi - Her perception makes him a little more squished (height, features, etc.) but neither manga nor show highlight this version much.

You seriously thought Chilchuck was locked up with the copies all the time haha. They didn't wear those scarves all the time, they probably put them on later so they wouldn't get confused again. What you didn't talk about was Delgal and the magus, since it doesn't make sense for the elf to think the king is still alive. The average elves live about 400 years, but they can live longer, I don't know why they die sooner, plus for some reason there are fewer elves nowadays, there are currently more tall-men than any other race, Marcille is part elf part tall-men, which means that she lives less than pure elves, she is 50 years old and has the body of a young woman. Being long-lived also means that you develop more slowly, elves reach maturity at 80 years old, imagine how many years they remain babies and children.
