In this installment of our video series on Taylor Guitars, we explore how Taylor's exceptional aftercare service and comprehensive range of accessories can help ensure that your Taylor guitar lasts a lifetime. From personalized support to innovative products, Taylor offers everything you need to keep your instrument in top condition. To get all the answers on making your Taylor guitar last a life time, we spoke to Dave Chiapetta (TaylorWare Product Manager), Rob Magargal (Service Network Manager) & Mike Venezia (District Sales Manager).
In September 2022, the guitarguitar team were invited to San Diego, California to visit Taylor Guitars and learn all there is to know about the most popular Acoustic Guitar brand in the world. We were privileged to have conversations with co-founder Bob Taylor & CEO Andy Powers as well as many other crucial members of the Taylor Team, shown around Taylor's factory as well as a visit to West Coast Arborists (Street Tree Revival) - one of Taylor's partners in bringing Urban Woods to their product lines. In our time in San Diego, we captured tons of footage to bring you a series of videos explaining everything you need to know about Taylor Guitars!
We'd like to say a massive thank you to Taylor Guitars for having & educating us. A special thanks to Paul & Dylan for their massive efforts looking after us during our visit.

I bought a brand new Taylor 114ce Sunburst from Zzounds last week. It arrived a few days ago and while it’s a beautiful guitar, sounds fantastic, and is mostly playable, the action above the 12th fret is definitely too high for most players and out of Taylor specification. Thankfully I have a great relationship with a local shop that is a Taylor dealer and authorized repair facility so one quick phone call to the customer service line to give them the serial number and get it registered. Followed by a trip down to the shop to drop the guitar off, they’re having a neck reset done covered under warranty to make sure the guitar is in spec and plays the way it should. I haven’t gotten the guitar back yet but it should be done getting worked on in a day or two and I’m sure it will play beautifully and sound amazing when work is completed. I have no doubt that Taylor stands behind their guitars even when things aren’t perfect they’ll do what it takes to make it right.

Does anyone really buy a Taylor for its sustainability (no, not sustain - sustainability)? It just makes it sound like you're buying an expensive compromise. I could see fleet buyers actually caring, but I sure don't.

With a lot of the public changing to a more eco-friendly approach, we do love to see brands like Taylor taking big steps to make acoustic guitars more sustainable ♻🌍

@@guitarguitaruk Yeah, we all agree that conservation and sustainability is great, but that wasn't my point. What I'm saying is that it sounds like Taylor's using 'conservation' and 'eco-friendliness' as an excuse to make it easier to just use whatever wood they come across and that they can source for much cheaper than traditional mahogany or rosewood while simultaneously pretending they're using it because it's something special. Maybe Taylor actually does care about the environment, but it sure seems to me that they're also pretending that they're being forward-thinking pioneers using new, exotic, luxurious woods.

I didn’t buy the guitar just because they use sustainable wood sources. Mainly I bought a Taylor for the playability, sound, quality, warranty, and great reputation of the brand. However if another benefit of buying a Taylor is that I can be happy knowing I’m supporting a company that cares about the planet as well as making sure that there’s sustainable wood supplies to continue making quality guitars for generations to come, that’s a happy coincidence.
