Well I totally agree what you guys said. The bombing of Yugoslavia was a crime and it will always stay in our minds and hearts as a thorn that sticks every time you remember it. I personally don't think they bombed Yugoslavia because of humanitarian reasons. The main reason is disobedience. Because Yugoslavia was the last socialist country that did very well economically without globalist system. The globalists or better to put bullies from the west capitalist world could not tolerate it. So they proposed certain agreements which actually were ultimatums in addition of IMF completely destroying our social system that worked perfectly fine. When Serbs rejected these so called agreements they called us stubborn and stonewalling. What they actually disliked is disobedience. They probably thought: "How dare these insignificant Serbs disobey or not do what we say they should do? You are either with us or else..." So they demonized Serbs as a nation for such a long time, that even now I bump up to some people who have wrong idea about who Serbs really are. They wanted to humiliate us so bad that we can never return on the international stage. They used a batter strategy, hitting you so hard that you will never even want to try to oppose, but instead you end up doing what they command. They never really got to know Serbs well, if they did they would know that Serbs can wait even for centuries to get their freedom back. And to be honest we don't really care what others think about us. We can live by ourselves and we welcome other nations that are open to socialize with us and enjoy daily life.

This was a special opportunity to take advantage of, instead, it was selfish only thinking of itself like a child that thinks it could not share and did not maintain peace and the whole world will see that democracy was not the solution to maintaining peace in the world because it would require everyone that does not agree or does agree to submit to the top democratic country. And does not allow other countries to have the same equality as itself. Especially if they are poorer with less economic power to defend themselves. Even if they are democratic, they do not fit with American standards or another way of running the business then it is not fully democratic.

My worry is people have forgotten how bad this could get. There's no one in government with a memory of that time. The diplomatic core has been eviscerated. Russia will maintain escalatory dominance as Ukraine is more important to them than it is to the US. Just to further clarify things, when you say NOTO bombed Yugoslavia in 1999, we should be aware that it was de-facto Serbia. Yugoslavia was only the name Milosevic wanted to keep as a reminiscence to former federal republic in order to maintain continuity with world geopolitical, economical, military's position that Yugoslavia had previously. Yugoslavia in 1999 was consisted of Serbia and Montenegro, and 99.99% of NATO targets were in Serbia. Only few initial bombings happened in Montenegro at the beginning, and that only on military infrastructure. Soon after the well known corrupted Montenegrin's president Milo Djukanovic openly started supporting the West and allowed the NATO fighter jets to fly over its territory. He is still in power today, clinging to power by vast support by West, militia and pro-Albanian minority in his country, even though almost 50% of nation openly pronounce themselves as Serbs and want to be distanced from the West.

It's because Russia finally decided they'd had enough of NATO expansion. If they can do it by stopping NATO in the Ukraine fine buti bet they are also willing to do it in a hot war if need be. I'm sure they took that into account beforehand and that is why Putin issued the order he did. It may also be why Russia has not fought as hard as many people thought. They may be conserving weapons in case of a war with NATO.

There is a place for realpolitik, but I'm sick of that bent in most discussions on the current crisis in Ukraine. This issue concerns both old-fashioned ethics and - realpolitik: they dovetail here. I haven't a drop of Russian blood that I know of, but have no trouble absolutely backing Putin and Russia on ethical grounds. Has Putin or Russia done anything comparable to killing a million of sitting duck Iraqis? Russia went to Afghanistan in 1979 - on invitation and desperate call for help of Afghan government, attacked by US radicalized Muslim fanatics in what had been a secular country. Russia and Putin are so far ahead of the West ethically and morally as to put us in the primative category by comparison. The leadership in the US seem not to care if they make that war larger. The best thing to do would be to end the warfare and support a peace agreement. To support the Ukraine's leadership when they have stated that they have no problem bringing NATO into what could turn to a nuclear war in hours not days or weeks. There are some in some military that feel a war on that scale is winnable. Might want check their own numbers where with 100million lost in the US that in the first month would be a win if the other side lost even higher numbers. Never mind most of those in favor of war don't really understand what would easily turn into 90% loss. That is only 1 year. No study can accurately determine when the weather would return to normal or even if it would.

If this escalates into a nuclear war, I want everyone to stay safe, if you live in a big city, I want everyone to get out of the big cities heavy populated. area Civic centers and metropolitan areas... live on the outskirts.
