I usually try to stay 2-3 years behind the current release to avoid ostensibly beta testing with my professional work, but finally caved and moved from AE 2021 to AE 2023 for the Matte layer system overhaul (long overdue). Of course 2023 is laggy as all fuck and every 3-5 clicks has a 10+ second delay. My machine is wildly over-spec'd, with this occurring at roughly 0-30% hardware usage across the board. I won't even touch Premiere anymore these days except for closed captioning because it's all so unreliable now. Meanwhile DaVinci Resolve is absolutely bulletproof with a one time fee.
Yeah I hear you. They’ve been improving the premiere engine and stability issues over the last couple of years so I’ve been pretty impressed by the both the performance bump and stability overall. But after effects needs a little more love under the hood. But then again, I think part of the issue is that third party plugins aren’t optimised for the After effects engine which can cause unforeseen issues
Same! I just updated to 2023 because I need the content aware tool for a specific video (even though it's a garbage tool) - 2023 ran overnight and still hadn't rendered the 1:30 video, so I thought I'd see if 2023 was any better, and it's appalling! Just basic timeline navigation is too slow to be usable, and I have a VERY powerful edit machine. My current employers, as well as the previous, have completely moved away from Adobe to Resolve etc for editing - the only thing keeping us with Adobe is AE and they make it worse every year! Soon as a viable alternative to AE comes along I'm cancelling CC for good.
@@salazar2287 Same here. i have 13900k, rtx4090 with 32gb of ram and working on nvme SSD, but still 2:30min animation took 20min to render, while using only 20% of my pc specs, terrible program. i am on newer 2024 version. rendering video on after effects sucks
i dont understand 😭I have 100gbs allocated for after effects, i have my cache set up on my nvme m.2, all my adobe programs are also running on my m.2, its just unbelievably laggy 💔 my preview settings are low, quarter wuality and 15 fps, wtf
My 22GB cache (NVME 250GB), and my 16GB rams, are always full while doing After Effects, but my work is smooth. I rarely clear cache, but that's my own situation.
How tf is that possible when I’m lagging 0 cache. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Unfortunately none of this works for me, I have 58 GB available to AE and it's still running very slow. I didn't have this problem with previous versions. However I started a project with 2023 so I can't open it in a previous version. I gave up and found an alternative for my project in another software, but I'm very curious as to WHY this is happening in this version despite trying everything you and other tutorials recommand... If anyone ever finds out :)
Why my footage change its position after replace composition with after effect. After saving from ae when i get back to or pro. Clip change its position. Please help.
I started use After Effects, why video render with after effects is a lot of Gigabyte? I don't know other user have problem like me? Could you tell me the answer?
I used to be able to do an audio ram preview using the . on the numbers pad and add markers using the * key in real time. Any idea how to get that back to real time so the markers are correct? Thank you!
I’ve always used after effects on my computer which has 4 giga of ram but since it’s old I have to change it. But it’s possible to edit with effects. All the videos in my channel are made with it Does After effects 2023 work with 8 giga? I’m worried about the “minimum requirements”
@@comradekirilov3483 I checked on google but they never talk about 8 giga, I keep reading comments of people saying “you need 64 giga!” As if we all work on extremely complex videos LOL I just need it to work, but if it doesn’t then I guess I need 16
