Vik and Josh were honestly the best duo to react to this video, I love how they presented theories! Maybe not the smartest of the Sidemen (they're all smart in different ways, I think that's why they all compliment each other quite nicely!), but definitely the more thought-provoking of the bunch! Intellectual, philosophical, honestly I'm not surprised Josh's biggest phobia is the fear of death. Shit gets super scary when you start thinking about it differently. It's literally the loneliest thing any human will go through, you'll never be able to do the things you once enjoyed doing, nobody dies with you and holds your hand. You literally die alone, just yourself and your consciousness (and your God that you've never directly interacted with before, if you're more inclined to be religious). You'll never be able to pet your dog, hug your friend, kiss your wife, drink with your family during birthdays. Your life as you know it completely ends. I understand Josh fully. I'm more scared of death now than I was a year ago, but I'm not as afraid of the concept of dying as I use to be.

I love when sidemen react to the universe and life cuz it’s always a 20 minute vid and it’s just lit

I like educational reacts. Some say " It's boring to watch people sit and do nothing while watching a video." But the conversations and debates are still fun to watch and also think about yourself. Nice change of pace in my opinion.

Another thing to take into account is the speed of light. For some other alien civilization to even have the chance of noticing us, they would have to be within only about one hundred light years of us. This is because their "version" of Earth they see is dependent on how many lightyears away they are. To put this into context, if a star is one lightyear away from us, the "version" of the star we see is what it looked like one year ago. With that being said, the same can be applied to us looking out towards other planets/stars/galaxies. A highly intelligent alien civilization could have formed hundreds of thousands of years ago; however, if they are hundreds of thousands of lightyears away, we wouldn't actually see them for what they actually are currently. I hope this made sense. It's a very interesting topic and I love this sort of stuff.

This is the sort of video that made me really start to put the reacts channel above the main channel. Not only is it informative, the banter is entertaining and also there is no real regard to just push for the 8min mark (stretching out dry content) and instead the focus is on the video itself and reacting to it.

Realistically, any life that's intelligent enough to be able to explore space would also be intelligent enough to realize that the other life that could be out there (us) might not be hostile. Thus I don't think aliens would be hostile at all.

cell culture growth phases can be seen as a good example of what life on Earth maybe going through, they have 4 stages in their life cycle, Lag phase (which is the beginning, similar to how it took longer for unicellular life to to get to multicellular compared to multicellular to intelligent life)as the name suggests lags alot due to challenging conditions or the hurdle to become life, Log phase also known as the exponential phase (which I believe is where the rapid developments life intelligence and subsequent civilization began and what we are still in since we are still developing fast af boi), Stationary phase that represents a bottle neck to further growth due to development and degradation reaching equilibrium (how we create while destroying, basically birth and death rate become the same), and the Death phase, where there is simply a lack of resources for cells in culture, so they either end up dying or viable cells gets collected and gets set up to start another cycle.
