Why am I returning my Snapdragon X Elite laptop? (should you do the same?)

I am returning my Microsoft Surface 7 Copilot+ laptop with Snapdragon X Elite CPU.
I have used it for around a week and will tell you what I liked, what I disliked and why I decided to send it back.
The full spec of my laptop below:
Microsoft Surface 7 Laptop, model 2037, SKU ZHH-00029
Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite 12 core CPU X1E80100
Qualcomm Adreno GPU
15 inch Pixel Sense touch screen display
16GB LDDDR5 RAM
512 Gen 4 SSD drive ( removable )
Windows 11 for ARM
It costs £1549 for this in UK (which is around $1950 US dollars)

Misleading clickbait title. Makes you believe that something is bad with new snapdragon laptops but the reason was because creator don't like windows. Meanwhile the majority of the traffic was not some external connections but broadcasting some packets in the local network probably because of continues polling for network devices in the local network. Very biased and clickbait video. Just leave the comment here for others to know.

I didnt mention or highlight any broadcast traffic though, I used red rectangle to highlight the 'suspicious' traffic only that goes to multiple public ip addresses - sorry maybe I should make it more clear in my video.

Wow what a great video and some fresh perspective on these devices. Every review on this device is literally carbon copy of each other, really appreciate you adding ssomething that nobody else is noticing. Subbed! Please keeping more of these. Also theres a program on windows that debloats all of this stuff and disables telemetry altogether (I think its called winAero? I dont remember). Would be interesting to see if you could use that and run your tests again.

You should have shown packet captures of osx too. This way it does not make sense, you said ubuntu is king yet you still choose mac.

Well, thats not entirely true though. Yes - I took packet capture on my Ubuntu running on Mac in Parallels, but thats only because I have my Camtasia installed there so it was easy to capture the screen as well. I also never said that MacOS is much better in that area ( it is slightly better security wise, but I agree it still grabs too much personal data, but also much less than Windows 11 ) . My 'daily runner' / most used linux instance is my Ubuntu installed on Proxmox which I have on my minipc though. Thank you for your comment ! Marek

It's not a problem of the laptop. It's a problem of the OS. The fact that windows spies on you is well known. Probably you shouldn't have bought it. I would buy this laptop if : 1. It has a very long battery life 2. It runs linux without problems.

My hope to get a comparable Windows solution to my M1 Max Mac is totally destroyed. It’s getting worse and worse. If I wasn’t working in Unreal Engine that needs a PC to compile for Windows I wouldn’t touch a PC at all. What a shitty system.

I have multiple instances of linux already, have it on my Proxmox, have it on Parallels on my Mac, in VMWare on my gaming laptop etc - I think thats more than enough :) Additionally - I think people were reporting some issues running linux on snapdragon, but havent tested myself. I use linux most of the time, usually Ubuntu. For this laptop though I believe there were some compatilibity issues but anyways - I already have Proxmox server running linux, I have linux on Macbook running in Parallels and I have gaming laptop with Windows that has WSL and ubuntu running on VMWare, so dont really need another linux instance at home, hence decided to return it :)

Why would you get Microsoft? The win 11 digital r8pe kit is the worst I've seen. Add the processor level spy kit, and you will get the shitti3st performance and experience ever. No expectations of it being satisfying.😂
