After 6 months ownership it’s time to say goodbye to my 2002 BMW Z3. I take a look at why I’ve decided to move on and what I’ve loved and hated about my time with the Z3. I hope you enjoy.
As a Z3 owner I was not surprised to hear you talk about the looseness on the road. Mine had the same sensation until I replaced the bushings in the front suspension. It changed things quiet a bit and it now has a solid feeling. Though fun to drive, it is not however a car that is easily thrown in to corners. It will corner very well but it’s not flickable. I had a 356 C Porsche that was an absolute dream for driving quickly. Nothing I have driven compadres to the fun of driving that thing, including a couple of Ferraris, a 300 SL, and some very nice Corvettes. The 356 is by far the most fun.
Had ours for over 10 years now. It’s been parked up in our garage for most of that time. Great car & no plans to sell it anytime soon. Also had a Mazda similar to yours before that but wasn’t our type of car albeit a nice little two seater. Good luck with the sale & keep up with the good videos 👍
Always enjoy your vids, much better than many so called "RU-vidrs" laughed when you mentioned not being able to see the dials correctly. I had a lovely Merc E class, being 5'9" a common height, I couldn't see the indicators flashing and with music going couldn't hear them either. It bugged me as a I had to crane my neck to see them.
I’m not sure what options may be available, but for the MX-5 as well as the S2000, there are companies that make lowered seat rails that will lower the seat by roughly two inches.
Hi Rich, agree you need the sports seats but not getting the height/position thing. I am 6’ 1” and don’t have the problem you mention. Are your seat runners standard ? Also again it may be the lack of the sports seats. Agree about the tram lining however a couple of poly bushes will help reduce this. Another good vid 👍
Hi Rich, have you thought of/do you post your videos on FB groups. I've heard it's a good way to boost views and subscribers. Looking forward to seeing more of your journeys in the vehicles around the country.
Sometimes I do Dean, yeah, but half the time you just get ppl saying it’s click-bait (even though it’s not!). Thanks for supporting the channel. I’ve got some great cars coming up over the next couple of months so should be done great content 👍🏻
Hi Rich- keep up the good work. Your videos have made me build up a little collection of my own, starting with a mk1 3.2 TT and adding either a boxter or a cayman next. Ultimate aim is an SL55. Have you considered an e46 M3?
Hi Daniel, thanks buddy. Yes I did consider an E46. Last summer before I bought my STI I considered an E46 M3, along with 3 other cars. There’s a video about what I considered buying.
Too much superficial talking. Seems that many of the authors complaints are subjective issues that not everyone would agree with. On the steering issue, consider getting a wheel alignment, e.g. wheel camber adjustment for improved road tracking.
I get 26 on my 2.8. Almost never more than that, and 90% of the miles we drive are highway. We only use it for touring and store it the rest of the time.
I’m picking a 2.2 Z3 next week and still after watching this I’m so excited about it. Do you mind me asking how much you sold it for? Greetings from Shropshire!
@@FastandFunthanks for putting the price up. There's one for sale today asking for 3.7k. It is a 2.2 with less miles (86k) but still seems on the high side. I've not been in a Z3 and was also looking at MX5 NC. 2.2 is Ulez compliant as well as the NC which is useful if I need to drive into work (London) but I have my trusty old banger of a Prius for my commute anyway lol.
