The camera on the R3DWhoop4K failed. I reached out to Runcam to see if the would make good on their warranty considering this camera failed on the maiden flight. They did, and sent me a replacement cable. So in this video we will replace the runcam ribbon cable. It's not as difficult as one might think. Join me won't you?

Hi! I have a Mobula7 HD and was thinking abount getting this frame and move all the parts from the Mobula7 HD to the R3D Whook 4k. Do you think it can handle?

These two frames are similar as the parts will interchange. Props are the same size. R3DWhoop4K supports up to a 19mm camera so that should fit as well. Flight controller mounts fit a few different types. It can definitely handle it. It’s a great platform for this 1s to 2s size swap.

@@breaksteel my only concern is the triangular vtx board from the mobula7 HD. I'm worried It wont fit.

On the back of the R3DWhoop4K there’s a platform that is slated for a 20x20 HD Camera card. You’d have room here for it. You might need to have a 20x20 to 23mm plate 3D printed, but it will fit on the underside of the craft. If this doesn’t fit here, there’s some room on top of and below the flight controller stack, but no real mounting solution outside of VHB tape for it in those locations. I usually use the 400mw Nano VTXs from TBS for these crafts as they fit pretty much anywhere on these little frames.

how does little guy fly? I just got into micros , and have the larva x with some mods I did like an axii antenna for better video , had to shorten the coax on a busted axii and glued on a new cap works fantastic , but I wonder how this R3dDwhoop does with its weight ?

This one flies pretty good. I’ve got some flight footage in this video towards the end. There’s some prop wash oscillations under high throttle that need to be tuned out. I also need to drop my rates a bit to smooth it out more. Without battery it weighs in at 92g. Doesn’t feel too heavy nor too light. I’ve been using 3s 450mah packs and may bump up to 650mah for a little longer flight times. The only thing I don’t like is how the wind effects it. Takes it a bit off corse with moderate winds (10mph+). Hoping the heavier battery helps reduce this. One of my favorite micros to date.

@@breaksteel oh wow thats lighter than I expected the larva without batt and my mods only weigh 57g , I'm almost at the end of the video , but I experience the same wind effects with the larva x, other than that the thing rips! even with the heavier 525mah batts 6min flights

That light weight really helps with those long flight times. My small packs are at the end of their lives so I’m only getting 2 min or so. Good packs and were into 4/5 min
